Pizza extremely average; tastes like something in the frozen isle. Thin crust but not even enjoyable, like a cracker, genuinely tastes like it came premade in a box and just needed toppings. A giant slop of cheese on top which kind of doesn't work when you have a lot of vegetables underneath, when it's hot it just slides off, We got the veggie and the sauce was good, along with the vegetables and I'll say they had plenty of them which was nice. Ambiance terrible, extremely unprofessional dining room with cardboard boxes of napkins left laying around like someone forgot to put it away before dinner service (it's 6PM), a weird rack in the corner stacked with an off TV and plates, also just left out in the open but a weird gross curtain surrounding it but wasn't closed, extremely odd table arrangement and terrible seating arrangement decisions made by staff. We were the only couple in the dining room, and then the next couple who clearly was on a first date was sat literally adjacent to us. We could hear their entire conversation, and we didn't feel comfortable talking to each other because we were so close to the them. Then a family with who knows how many children were sat literally right behind us, yet again building on the fact there was absolutely no space between groups, yet plenty of tables surrounding all of us. We were in town for a concert at Turntable, within walking distance of Bazbeaux. A friend who lives in Indy recommended it, so we decided to try it. From the outside, it looked small but was bigger than I thought, yet cozy. Our server greeted us quickly and did a great job throughout our time there. I hadn't had a pizza from here in a while because I had a very bad experience at the Carmel location. So needless to say I refused to spend my money with them. However I happened to be near the Broadripple location and it was movie night with the fam, so I figured why not. I placed a carry out order and then handled some other things in the area. Customer service was great both over the phone and when picking up my order. It was busy inside but clean and well maintained. The pizza was hot and fresh. I could barely hold it... when I got it to my vehicle, my grandbaby let me know he was extremely pleased with the aroma and that he couldnt wait to have some when we got home. We stopped to get a few other snacks for movie night and when we arrived home the pizza was still hot. I opened thw box and steam came flying up in my face, the crust was still as I remember it and took me back to when I first tried Bazbeaux. It was loaded with toppings in the right proportions (because that is important to me with a pizza) and it ensured that I will return. I have to say, no one matches the wheat crust. We have been wanting to try Bazbeaux for a long time and finally came here on a Thursday night. The restaurant was about half full but they seemed to be understaffed. It was a good 10 minutes before our server appeared to take our drink order. She did her best but was clearly overwhelmed. It didn't help that she was the sole person responsible for serving a party of 15+ at the tables next to us. We ordered the B.O.T. and Garden pizzas. Both came out with slightly underdone crusts and too much cheese in our opinion. They were not genuinely "bad" but I dare say we've made better frozen pizzas. Bazbeaux is one of those places that I feel like has stood the test of time. When I moved to the BRV area nearly 20 years ago, I remember how creative and innovative their offerings were for Indiana. Seafood on a pizza? I've never had it before, but man it was delicious! A Mexican themed pizza? Wheat flour crust option? Yeah! Fast-forward to now, and they still serve excellent pizza, with many of the same specialties that I remembered way back when. We order the Neptune without cheese and the Veggie pizza with half ricotta only, both on wheat crust. Our server was friendly and efficient, and in about 15 mins our pizzas arrived just as we'd ordered. Without the cheese, you really can taste the other ingredients and sauce, which I truly enjoy. It's got such a rich tomato flavor and is so well-spiced. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and juicy! The dining room hasn't changed much over the years, it's what I imagine a typical modern pizzeria to look like with wooden chairs and tables. It was clean with no dirty dishes on tables. The prices are fair for the area and the amount of food we received. We had enough for leftovers the next day. All in all it was a great visit and we'll be back again soon! read more

Probably the best experience we could have after having a reservation at another restaurant go bad. We had a party of 14 after a high school graduation. We asked if they could accommodate us, it was 1 hour to closing. They quickly set up a long table in a separate room and provided fantastic service. We were in Indy this weekend to scout rentals and stopped in Broad Ripple to get pizza for lunch. Bazbeaux was hyped in Trip Advisor, so I figured we should check it out. As plant-based people, seeing that they offered vegan cheese was nice. Our server Eliot was very nice and courteous. Checked on us while the food was waiting. We ordered pizza and then decided to get garlic bread while waiting for the pizza to be ready. Ambiance is nice and casual. The bathroom was very clean and smelled good, so it's a good sign when a restaurant maintains a good restroom. Our pizza was a 12" veggie with vegan cheese. I think it was Follow Your Heart cheese as it melted well and stretched easily. Not too gummy. I love a veggie pizza that comes with artichoke hearts. We were well satisfied with the flavor of the pizza, the crispiness of the crust, and the lack of sogginess. The garlic bread was really good. All in all, the 12" pizza with customization, garlic bread with cheese and sauce was ~$32. I would recommend coming back. The Broad Ripple location is super nice. There's outdoor and indoor seating, and it's right by the canal and the Monon Trial. Bike for a slice. read more

We've always loved Bazbeaux. We love their food and the atmosphere. So we decided to eat there last week for date night. They greeted and seated us immediately. We chose to sit inside even though outdoor seating was available. They sat us at a nice table that did appear very clean. There was also some modern pop/rock music playing. The server, while attentive, friendly, and thorough, seemed a bit nervous and kind of hung out a minute or two longer than what made us comfortable after we placed our orders. We wondered if it was his first day. My wife and I started off with salads. She had the house side salad with mixed greens, shaved parmesan, kalamata olives and tomato, she chose a creamy basil dressing (her favorite there) and I had the spinach salad with spinach, mushroom, bacon, egg, red onion, kalamata olives and shaved parmesan. I chose the ranch dressing (my favorite). Her salad was nice crunchy and flavorful with the cool creamy basil dressing. Mine was tender and crunchy at the same time and just loaded with all of the toppings. The ranch dressing was creamy and tangy and complimented the salad well. My wife had a 10" Hawaiian pizza with ham, pineapple, green pepper and red onion and I had the 10" Garden pizza with artichoke hearts, avocado, spinach, green pepper, red onion, black olive and ricotta. Both pizzas had a nice crispy crunchy thin crust. My wife enjoyed the savory sweetness of her pizza and I loved the chunky plethora of wonderfully savory flavors of mine. I was unable to finish mine, so I boxed up what I couldn't finish. After I finished eating, I used the restroom. I noticed both the restaurant and the restroom appeared very clean. The only issue we actually had wasn't the fault of the restaurant, it was the fault of the table of eight guys seated behind me. They couldn't seem to keep from uncomfortably staring at my wife and me towards the end of dinner. We didn't bother mentioning this to anyone because we were leaving soon. I needed to grab food after a hair appointment and luckily Bazbeaux was open. A little surprised to see they close on a Friday night at 9. I walked in about 15 minutes before close to pick up. I can't say I was greeted but once I got to the counter, staff were very friendly. I hate being a late person, but I did call the order in at 8. I got GF with sausage and pepperoni. It was loaded with cheese, which isn't always a good sign for me but it was delicious! My daughter also loved it and she doesn't usually eat GF or pepperoni. I have been a customer for years now usually for pick ups. I don't know if it's just bad luck on my side but almost every order that I did, I always get the wrong pizza, it's either in size or the type. But they go out of their way and gives me credit. I keep coming back because their Tchoupitoulas is just very good, especially when added with more cajun chimp and lump crab meat. Wifey loves their Garden and Mediterranean pizza. Food is, as always, great, but through the years, the kitchen staff needs to pay more attention to the orders. I'm sure they're aware of these. I went here with a group of friends and we order a large amount of food. I have been here hundreds of times, and the food has never failed to taste amazing. I've had their pepperoni pizza, as well as, their pepperoni with crumbled sausage. They also offer a two slice lunch special that changes daily. The pizza always tastes fresh. I just returned to live again in Indy after three years in St Paul MN. Last night, we ate at Bazbeaux's on Mass Ave and it was near closing time but we ordered a small Marguerita with green olives and it was unbelievably delicious. Tonight, i pushed my luck and headed to Bazbeaux Broad Ripple near my house and ordered the same but med size. Was told it would be a 30 min wait. After an hour wait while seated next to the hostess (who was a delight), i asked about my pizza since i was going to have to leave without it. Waited a few more mins before the cook pulled it out from under a stack of boxed pizzas and cut in and i left, finally with my order. A huge disappointment. It was dry and i guess it had been on the stack maybe heated which made it overcooked. Instead of one of the best pizzas i have had, it was one of the worst. My dogs delighted in it but i was out $20 plus an hour wait. The take-away : Drive an extra mile to Mass Ave. Don't order when they're swamped. Stick with the small size. Not sure which is the lesson but i'm determined to try again for a repeat of last night at Mass Ave, not my experience tonight in Broad Ripple. read more

It actually makes me so sad to know my review of Bazbeaux Pizza is not as great as I was anticipating before I went there. On Father's Day, my fiancé and I decided to go because we did not feel like cooking dinner and were craving pizza. Our option was to wait 15 minutes to sit outside or be seated right away inside. We were both hungry so I chose inside (the outside is so much prettier so I definitely suggest outside to anyone else!) We didn't have a drink menu so we had to ask the waiter for a tap list when he came to take our drink order. This was no problem because we both quickly decided on Pacificos. These did not take too long to come out, and I appreciated that they gave us lime with it as well. I would say the problem started after they took our food order. We decided on a 12-inch Colossus pizza. It has everything we love for a pizza and then some so it was perfect. Right after we ordered, the server said "It might be a bit of a wait" but did not indicate what the wait would be so we didn't anticipate it being as long as it ended up being. It was probably 30-35 minutes after we put the order in that we got the food. For two people sharing one thing, I do feel like that was a bit long, and definitely the longest wait I have had in a long time at a restaurant. When it came out the server said that they accidentally made us the bigger size, which we won't complain about so that was a plus! I asked for some ranch and he said of course. A different employee brought the ranch within the minute and we got to enjoy the pizza. Once we got our pizza, we never saw the server again until he brought our debit card back. We were never asked how everything was, and even when we did see him again, he didn't ask how the pizza was. The pizza itself was pretty good. Probably not worth the wait, but the prices aren't too bad. I think the thing that just rubbed us the wrong way was that we were not eating super fast, so it seems like the server maybe could've checked back at some point. I am sure he was busy with other things, and I've managed and served at restaurants before so I know how it can get, but I do believe an important skill for servers is time management and learning how to check in on a table quickly between helping others. It makes people feel like a low priority when they are ignored. I will be honest that it's not on my list of places I am dying to go back to. The atmosphere outside seemed to be really good but inside wasn't quite my vibe. read more

Their Quattro Formaggio is THE best pizza I've ever had. It absolutely cannot be beat. Love that they have a gluten free crust option, it's delicious as well. Ask for their wine list, other than that, they do offer beer. Their large pizza is a great deal and can feed a small army. The service from the original server was suboptimal. We got waters, but finally gave in and flagged a different server down after waiting 18 minutes to order pizza. Our second, flagged down waiter, was much nicer and attentive. We were still there for far too long and watched other families come and go while sitting there. The pizza was okay. A solid 5.5. Not bad, but not great. It didn't seem to be cooked long enough as it was flimsy and doughy. The sauce tasted like spaghettio's sauce. The specialty pizza half was the 4 cheese and it was good, the pepperoni pizza was lackluster and I would not order again. My fave part of the specialty pizza was the difference in cheeses and how the ricotta was soft and fluffy, almost dry, which paired well with the bacon on the pizza. Overall, I may be back if my friends suggest it, but based on the service, and lack of stellar flavor, I would personally choose other places first. read more
