My review here has been a long time coming, as I wanted to wait and review until after my full experience here. The short version: Soni is very personable, but I think she and I would have been a better match if I didn't know anything about what I was looking for. Her opinions are very strong, and I had trouble working with her to get exactly what I wanted. Soni ended up coming through in the end, and I got lots of compliments on my dress, but the process was exhausting. The looooooong version: I met Soni when I looked for wedding dresses at the beginning of October 2009. BB Bridal was the second store I visited. I went there initially because of the favorable Yelp reviews and because I seemed to be drawn to Casablanca dresses, and Casablanca is one of the designers she carries. I went with my mom, now mother-in-law, and sister. The store was smaller than I thought it would be, and it seemed like the dresses were crammed into too small a space to accommodate them all. I didn't let that stop me from keeping an open mind about the selection, as I wasn't looking for any sort of "Kleinfeld's" experience. Soni showed me some of the dresses from the pictures that I brought, as well as had me try on a couple extras. Everyone really loved a certain Casablanca dress that I ended up buying. (It's a lace V-neck one from a picture I brought in.) She came in under budget and included free pressing and a free bustle (we decided on an "over" bustle, not a French bustle). We decided or order a custom-length dress to accommodate 2.5-3" heels. We also ordered three beautiful chocolate brown Bari Jay bridesmaids' dresses (these turned out great!!). The next day, I woke up with major wedding dress-buying remorse. She handled my frantic "I don't know if I picked the right dress!" phone call really professionally, and I ended up sticking with my choice. Fast forward about 4 or 5 months, and I called to check in. Sure enough, the dress was going to be in soon! So we set up another appointment for me to come in for a first fitting. Long story made a little shorter: Between January and the end of April, I was met with Soni's strong opinion of how my veil should look, how the bustle should be done, how tall my shoes should be (I ended having to wear 4" platforms to accommodate the measured-too-long custom length dress when I had wanted 2.5"-3" heels! Yikes!). Her recommendation for undergarments made the dress be too tight. (Her recommendation? LOSE WEIGHT. Not cool.) Her version of a bustle (French) made the train drag on the floor even when bustled. On my third attempt to get the bustle to be the way I wanted it, I had to strongly state my preference and show her pictures of another bride wearing the same dress with the bustle done the way I wanted it. Only then did Soni reluctantly go with what I wanted. During the bustle-creation process, she kept reminding me that she had told me the bustle was free, but now that she had to do it three times, she suggested I pay her more money. I didn't think I needed to because it wasn't done the way I wanted it to be done those first 2 times. I didn't pay more money. My dad picked up my dress for me the Fri. before the wedding, and I'm so glad he did that for me, as I realized that going to the shop that close to the wedding would have increased my stress. I think that Soni may be at the point where her business is so booming that she needs some assistance. The owner/salesperson/seamstress-in-one system doesn't seem to be working all that well anymore. This way, she would better remember details about her orders like what kind of bustle was requested, when the bride will pick up the dress, etc. SO, for brides wanting to buy a wedding dress, consider BB Bridal if you like Casablanca and would like to have a strongly opinionated mother figure as your salesperson and seamstress. Bring some wonderful friends to advocate for you -- thank goodness for mine. Otherwise, it may be less stressful to shop elsewhere. read more

THE BUYING (mid-October 2010): I went here with the bride and the bridal party after having gone to Nouvelle Bridal in Palo Alto (another small boutique) and the Valley Fair Nordstrom. I was surprised that the Nordstrom was such a fail. Even though it seemed like there were more dresses to select from, they didn't seem to have anything that we even vaguely wanted. Both the smaller boutiques had fewer dresses to select from, but we were able to find a lot more dresses that we actually liked. This was my first experience shopping for a bridesmaid's dress so that was news to me. We also went in the middle of October and were told that the dresses would arrive around March! Who knew? Soni was great - she was blunt, honest, funny and very helpful. For example, she steered us away from a sexy, strapless dress by saying, "No, no, no, that dress is too sexy. No asian mom will like that." and from a dress with a deep v-neck saying, "That dress is too low there (pointing to v-neck). None of you can fill that out, it will look bad." Which is harsh, but definitely true. She helped us find the dress we ultimately ended up purchasing, which was priced at $140. Shipping cost an extra $15 or so. She was upset that we wouldn't be picking up the dresses in person since she likes to see how they look on the actual person, but understood that we were all somewhat far away. THE RECEIVING (late March 2011): Soni had promised that she would cut off the flower on the dress before sending them to us and include straps that could be attached if we wanted them to be. She did as promised. THE BIG DAY (early May 2011): The dresses looked great on everyone and in photos. Success! read more

I went to a few bridal stores and no one was able to get it right like Soni! After trying on 2 dresses, I was able to find the one! She is extremely detail oriented and knowledgeable. She is very easy to work with and will only suggest what is best for you. 3 days before my wedding I wasn't able to fit in my dress as I lost a bit more weight than expected. Soni is the type of business person you want to work with. She's honest, personable, and very knowledgable. Lucky for brides to be, she's in the wedding dress business. I had originally scheduled an appointment with Soni 1.5 months out since that was when one of my bridesmaids would be in town. However, I ended up going to a salon near work and found a dress I really liked. After having read other reviews for Soni, I called her right away to see if I could see her that weekend and fortunately she was able to squeeze me in. Soni runs her own shop, so she takes on appointment at a time. It's great because you have her full attention. She knows her dresses so well because once she saw the dresses that I liked, she was able to key in on the dresses I should try on. The dress we ended up spending the most time with would need some changes but the nice thing about Soni is, she likes to work with designers/companies that allow you to do some customizations. She said she'd sketch out the dress to include modifications I wanted and once they were ready, I could back to see her. I ended up going back two weeks later but unfortunately, there was another dress I had fallen in love with and it was not a designer she carried. She looked over the pictures of the dress I was considering and then thought over all the available dresses she could show me. She was honest and said there was nothing that was similar and then encouraged me to get the other dress because the other dress fit & looked great on me. She even looked up the designer, the sizes, lengths, and made recommendations as to what/how to order and alterations to consider. What I loved about my experience & interactions with Soni is that she owns her craft. She knows what looks good on different body types and will be honest with the bride on what could work, what alterations are possible, etc. Even though I didn't get my dress with Soni, I will most definitely recommend brides to be to go see her when they are in the market to shop for a dress. read more

If you choose not to read the rest of my lengthy write-up, just read this: Go to BB Bridal FIRST and TRUST in Soni!!! This review is long overdue, but so necessary! I first found BB Bridal and met Soni in 2015 after I had already purchased my wedding dress elsewhere. I had originally planned to have my dress altered where I purchased it as they offered alterations by their in-house tailor, however, for whatever reason, he ended up leaving/quitting and I was then responsible for taking care of my own alterations. It was a blessing in disguise because in came the great Soni! Soni is a one-woman show. She runs BB Bridal alone and you can only see her by appointment. The beauty of this is that when you are with her, you have her undivided attention. Aside from the occasional incoming phone call, you don't have to worry about her being distracted by other clients in her shop. Her space is not overly large and she doesn't house a huge inventory, but she offers both wedding and bridesmaid dresses. She stays up to date on current style trends and if you have something in mind that she doesn't carry, she can order a sample for you to try on and/or recommend something similar (or better). As you will read over and over again in reviews for BB Bridal, Soni knows wedding dresses and she knows them WELL. During my quest for my dream dress I visited at least 10 different bridal salons/boutiques all over the Bay Area. Unfortunately I had a very difficult time finding the "one" and my overall dress buying experience was long and I often times felt discouraged by the entire process. I loved and still love my dress, but my biggest regret is not finding Soni BEFORE purchasing it. Had I come to Soni right off the bat, it's likely I would have saved myself lots of time and headache, and ended up with a different dress. Luckily, Soni didn't dislike my dress choice and was more than happy to alter it for me, but it's no secret - and I say this lovingly - that she probably would have put me in something else if she had her choice lol. Some may not call it a gift, but I feel that what Soni has is a gift. No matter what the shape or size, without any judgement, she can look at any body type and just know what will look best and most flattering. Whether you agree with her or not is another story ;) What I love most about Soni is her sheer honesty. Unlike all of the other bridal salons and boutiques I visited where the consultants were constantly telling me I looked great in anything and everything I tried on, Soni would be more likely to say "No, this is no good for you. Let's try something else." Yes, hearing you look beautiful and throwing a veil on your head might make you feel like a bride in the moment, but does that mean that what a commission-driven sales person is trying to sell you will actually make you look your best on your wedding day? Aside from having my alterations done by Soni, I also purchased a veil, belt and hair pins from her. She offered several recommendations and I was more than pleased with everything. She also took care of the preservation services for my dress and veil after my wedding was over. On the morning of my wedding I had somehow snagged my veil and it started to pull apart from the hair comb. Luckily my wedding was in San Jose and when I reached out to Soni, she said "No problem! Bring it to me!" A friend drove it over to her and was back with my veil good as new within an hour. What a lifesaver! Outside of my own wedding experience with Soni, she helped me with sizing for a bridesmaid dress for a wedding I was in a month before my wedding. She was familiar with the dress brand and because she already had my measurements she was able to tell me exactly which size I needed to purchase. I never had to try anything on and was able to buy my dress online with confidence. Over the last 3 years I have referred at least a handful of close girlfriends to BB Bridal and have urged them to please see Soni before going anywhere else just to get her very honest opinion. All of them except one ended up buying their dresses from BB Bridal and the one that didn't still had her alterations done by Soni. This review is written through my now husband's account. Soni saved my wedding by customizing a dress that fulfilled and went above my expectations. My mom was very picky and initially was not okay with any of the wedding dresses I had in mind. Soni persevered and insisted that I try on a dress and not to mind other people's opinions b/c she could adjust it to fit their liking. Unbelievably, the first dress Soni picked out for me was approved by everyone. I could not see the final dress for awhile b/c I live on the East Coast, so I was pretty nervous about how the dress looked with alterations and whether it would fit. I only got to try on the dress a week before my wedding. It looked beyond amazing and there were no words I could use to describe how lucky I was to have come to the right place for my wedding dress. The fit was perfect. The fact that my wedding turned out way better than I thought given the lack of time I had to coordinate things from cross country is 50% in part due to this place. read more

Soni was exactly as described in the reviews below. She's not your typical run of the mill bridal consultant - she's definitely straight to the point, no sugar coating. I came here first because of all the great reviews - I thought, how great would it be if I could find my dress by just going to ONE bridal store? Well, Soni told me that my body type would be best shown off by a trumpet. I tried in about 4 dresses, all lace trumpets because I originally thought I'd really want lace. I have to say, I liked them, but I wasn't super WOW'd by them. I was looking for that "bridal experience." Plus I had nothing else to compare against, so I didn't know how to feel. Soni was pretty insistent that I was good in a trumpet and didn't offer to show me any other dress types. I did go later in the day though, close to her closing time so that may have been a factor as well. My wedding was in 5 months so Soni told me that I needed to hurry and make up my decision, like NEXT week at the latest. I felt really rushed unfortunately. However, I went to a few other bridal shops (and most of them also told me I needed to rush as well) and tried on different types of dresses there and I realized that I liked a totally different style and different fabric. Soni carries only a few lines of dresses and she didn't carry the one I liked so unfortunately I did not end up working with her. But, she did try to show me other options of the designers that she DID carry that had similar styles but I didn't like them as much. I definitely recommend coming to Soni after you have tried on a bunch of dress types and if you know EXACTLY what you want, she can help you really easily then. But, I wouldn't recommend going here for your FIRST visit, unless you're the type of person that knows exactly what you want in your dress already. read more

What can be said about Soni that isn't already written here? She is hands-down amazing. She is talented, timely, professional, personable, hilarious, makes you feel comfortable, loves what she does and does a damn good job of it too. If you need more information about how one can summarize Soni's abilities, just keep reading all of these other 4 and 5 star reviews that sing praises of her amazing work. My number one recommendation would be to see Soni first. Before going to Trudy's or Elegant Lace, or anywhere else, go see Soni. She'll be honest with you from the start, gives you her full attention, is so experienced, and very efficient. My number two recommendation would be to trust Soni. Soni knows what she's talking about. I'm not saying you need to go outside your comfort zone, but trust her. Soni knows best. I unfortunately did not go see Soni first, though I wish I had. That way I could have ordered the same dress I ended up getting at Trudy's, but in the right size. I ordered a strapless dress, loving the design and the flow of it, but knew that I wanted sleeves. That's when I found Soni. She hemmed the dress, keeping the same flowing feeling that I wanted, but allowing me to walk without tripping over myself. She tightened the dress in all the right places so that it fit snugly and comfortably. But the most amazing part was the sleeves. I didn't exactly know how I wanted the sleeves to look, but that wasn't a problem at all. She came up with a design that would use the same fabric from the dress (ordered from the dress company), and styled the sleeves so that they helped cover the "chicken wing" area under my arms. The most incredible part of the sleeves were how they were attached to the dress. In both the front and the back, she cut out the detail of the lace and sewed the sleeves onto the dress to make it appear as though the sleeves had always been a part of the dress. It's difficult to describe in words, so I've included a photo. The sleeves gradually and elegantly came off of the dress and made the dress look and feel complete. I was amazed at how well the whole thing turned out. Soni was brilliant and so helpful the entire time. I ended up going through Soni to get my bridesmaid dresses and oh(!) am I so glad that I did. They ended up looking amazing. Thanks to Soni I didn't have to worry about a botched dress, or bridesmaid dresses in the wrong size/color. Anything. No words can express my thanks to Soni ! Here is the story. My daughter travels a lot and she had no wedding dress 3 months before her wedding last year. It is not something I can purchase without her presence!  At one of the weekend , she came home finally and told me her friend recommended Soni so here we went. The store is small without fancy decoration but Soni , the owner, is amazing, she knows what she is doing and how to make the bride pretty. Honestly, I wasn't sure what she might get because time is not on our side but she looks beautiful and elegant with the dress. At that time ,I eased my heart because she was on the right hand! Not only the dress but also Soni is on top of everything to follow up the rush order.  An appt is required and she will only serve 1 customer at a time, she just locks the front door and stay with you the entire appt time. read more

Wow, the bride who left the last 3 reviews was angry! I feel bad for her, but I have to be honest about my experience with Soni. I originally came to this store with the intension of seeing another dress but in person it was not the color I wanted. Instead, Soni showed me another dress that was also really nice and told me how I could have it altered to make it more the way I wanted. I trusted her not knowing fully how the dress would come out, and after 3 months when it finally arrived I was soooo AMAZED at how beautiful it came out! I almost could not believe it was the same dress but slightly altered. I just got married 2 weeks ago and received endless compliments on my dress and how well the fit turned out and where did I get it from. Btw, I did not need any alterations after the dress arrived to Soni, because she helped me custom order it to my exact measurements! (will post pics of the dress soon!) It is true that Soni does not carry a wide range of designers, but if she carries the one that you like, then I highly recommend her. In addition to new styles, she also carries a large stock of older style dresses, if you are feeling nostalgic and wanted an 80s/90s style wedding dress haha! This is a tiny store located in a strip mall. I almost missed it entirely. I walked in and the lady at the counter said hello but did not ask me any questions or offer me any help. Even when I started digging through the messy racks of dresses she still did not approach me or offer me any help. I walked up to the counter and she didn't even look up... so I left. Must had a off experience. I am not the bride, but I am the one who picked the place for my friend to find her a dress. The owner Soni pretty much man handle my friend, and she didn't let us use her bathroom with a pretty strange excuse. The selection is just okay, the store is small, and she didn't really gave my friend a lot of choices. We came prepare know what will look best for her, but everything she tried on was just blah...... The strangest thing, where as most other places use clips to tied down the dress, so that you have a better idea of what it looks like. Soni just used her hand to hold the dress, so since my friend is quite small, the dress kept on falling off her. Like why can't you buy some clips and make the whole experience one star better! Most of the dress will run you between $100 to $1500. Yes, those puffy sleeve old fashion wedding dress straight out of Twin Peaks is on sale at her place for $99. I went with my friend Jennifer recently to BB Bridal. It was a tough two months, going to various bridal boutiques and meeting up with different personalities. Problem with Jennifer is that, she looks amazing in SO many things. As I prepared my butt pads for more sitting in bridal salons (not all bridal salon chairs are created equally), Jennifer informed me that she found THE DRESS. We went to go see it at BB Bridal (after making an appointment, of course!) and it was perfect. Soni was really sweet and doting. Jennifer's mom was with us and the three of them went into Korean euphoria (lots of Korean conversation). Soni treated like Jen was her own daughter, making sure Jen was happy and completely satisfied with the dress. The attention shifted to her bridesmaids (le sigh) and Soni was very excited to assist with that as well. She also helps with mother of the bride dresses too! There was a woman that wandered in looking for dresses. She was kind of flustered but Soni was patient and asked her to come back again by making an appointment. Still, it'd be nice to have one other helper to help with customer flow. Not sure if they'd have the same sklll and eye however. The shop is small and a bit cramped. The couches are comfy (WIN!) and the dresses are many. I don't know how Jen found this place but it was great and homey. And yay, we found a dress! read more

I already purchased my wedding dress by the time I got around to visiting BB Bridal, but I came here to check out bridesmaid dresses with my girls. From the start, Soni was very direct and up-front about the dress buying process (her main goal is to help you find what you want, whether or not it ends up being something she carries), and she has a good eye for fit and style. She's also very liberal with advice and suggestions, and is quite funny and personable. As of April 2013, BB Bridal carries three designers - Bill Levkoff, Alexia Designs, and Bari Jay, with prices ranging from ~$170 - $300+. The shop is crowded and quite small, but Soni makes you feel welcomed and taken care of, unlike the experience we had at Brides of California where they pretty much ignored us the whole appointment, except to help pin the overly large try-on dresses every once in awhile. read more

She was such a sweet and honest mother figure; great at keeping in touch with updates; went out of her way to remind me of everything I needed so that when the big day came, I didn't have a thing to worry about (eg, practice walking, dancing in your dress). I was looking for a lace wedding dress for under $1000 and she only had one dress for me to try on. The owner was welcoming until I told her my budget. To her credit, she was honest and straight forward. But experience wise...it was pretty disappointing. The thing is, I gave my wish list and budget to the person who took my appointment, so I wish they would have just told me over the phone. I couldn't have been happier with my experience working with Soni here at BB Bridal. She found me the perfect dress for my wedding this past October, and she was an absolute joy to work with throughout the entire process. I came to Soni about 11 months before my wedding after some disappointing appointments at other bridal shops in the area. Unlike these other shops, Soni offered extremely personable and professional service. I forgot the exact number of years she told me she's been in business, but it's a LONG time.... 20, maybe 30 years, or something like that. Either way, you can definitely tell she's been in the business forever with the amount of knowledge and expertise she brings. She knows the exact styles that will flatter your figure and make you look amazing! She even knows the ins and outs of alterations to help give the dress the perfect finish and look you're after. Oh, and she also has no problem being honest and telling you like it is, while still being respectful of your opinion. It's all with good intentions, as she truly cares about making you look beautiful on your wedding day. Soni's got an awesome personality that made the process fun and enjoyable. She is super personable and made me feel very comfortable. After describing what I wanted and showing Soni a couple pictures, she grabbed a few dresses, all of which ended up being really great options to pick from. In fact they were such great options, I ended up coming in twice before saying "yes" to my dress. She was incredibly patient and helpful while I tried to make a decision. Once my dress was ordered, she helped me find a beautiful veil to compliment the details of my dress. She always called when I needed to come in, and made scheduling an appointment very easy. It's pretty amazing what she can pack into that shop, as it is a pretty tiny store. Don't let the size of her shop scare you though. Yeah, it's certainly not a big fancy shop, but it doesn't need to be. It's big enough and she keeps it very clean and organized. She's got everything you'll need and plenty of gowns to choose from. Soni carries brands that can fit nearly anyone's budget. When I first told her I was looking for something under $2k, she laughed and said that would be no problem. Compared to other shops I visited, BB Bridal has relatively reasonable pricing. My dress, petticoat, additional buttons, and veil all cost me well under my budget. So, if you're a bride on the hunt for the perfect wedding dress, you MUST make an appointment with Soni. She is AMAZING and will help find you the dress of your dreams! read more

Soni Soni Soni.....what can I say about Soni? She is really good at what she does. She knows what fit every bride perfectly. It's almost like she envisions what looks good on you and make it happened. Soni is a really sweet and caring person. She try to get to know her customers on a personal level. I found out about BB bridal through yelp and I decided to called Soni to make an appt to try on wedding dresses. At my first meeting Soni, I know what I want already and told her what I wanted. Soni take out some dresses that would compliment my body to have me try it on. I like most of the dresses I've tried on but I wasn't completely satisified. Maybe it's because what I had in mind wasn't right for me. After my first meeting with Soni, I decided to look at more dresses online, in stores, and in magazine. And now I know exactly what I wanted. So I called Soni again for the secont time to make an appt, I told Soni over the phone that I want an organza dress. She already knows what kind of dress she wants me to try on. When I came in for my second time, Soni let me tried on this strapless organza casablanca dress. And it was so beautiful! It compliment my body and it is also orangza. I decided that this is the dress so I bought it right then and there. There are some flowers on the dress which I did not like so I told Soni to take that out. I like the fact that my dress is custom order to my fitting meaning I don't need to alter it later on when I get the dress. Soni said the dress takes about 8 months to be done. I thought that was a really really long time to make a dress but I guess that's standard. 6 months later. I got a called from Soni saying that my dress have finally arrived!!! I booked my appt to come in to my first dress wedding with Soni. The dress is even beautiful without the flowers on it! I can't want to see the rest of the dress when Soni make the bustle and the hairpin from the flowers that I did not want on the dress. My second dress fitting with Soni was around Feb. The dress look absolutely stunning when it is all steam and everything. The bustle was everything I want. It was perfect! It goes so well with the flow of my dress that it doesn't seems like there was a bustle. I highly recommend you going to Soni after you know exactly what you want first or else you'll end up coming back to her. Soni KNOWS what she is doing. read more

Like almost all reviews, I had a wonderful and very memorable experience with Soni! She is an expert at what she does- finding the perfect dress that flatters and brings out your best for your big day! Soni was the first out of three appointments I had with other bridal shops. I ended up not even making it out to the other ones because I was very impressed with Soni's knowledge, honesty, and pride in her work. I decided on my dress after trying on just 2 other ones, and I ended up putting an order in for one dress, but with the lace design of another (both from Casablanca). Soni called Casablanca on the spot to be absolutely sure that they could do this. When the dress came in and I excitedly put it on, I was surprisingly disappointed because the dress had so much beading and bling on it, not what I had imagined or wanted at all! I felt so bad and didn't know what to do but to try and accept how it was. But without hesitation, Soni took it back and spent three days taking out ALL the beading from the top portion of the dress, and re-sewing the lace down! I really loved this place! And I LOVED Soni! How can you not love her! After searching far and wide (I mean I literally looked in San Diego where I'm from, to Irvine, to San Jose where I was going to school) to find my wedding dress. I came without an appointment just because I had seen reviews on yelp and was seriously needing to buy a wedding dress very soon. Soni rushed us in and said she had about 15 minutes before her next appointment. I told her exactly what I was looking for. She gave me 2 dresses to try on and I wasn't really feeling them. Then she pulled out one more and I think angels started singing. It was perfect! However I wanted more bling. Soni assured me it was no problem and asked me to make an appointment again for the next day. She told me we could add thin, blingy belts on to act as straps, add a bit more bling in the front, and order the dress with a lowered back! When I got the call that my dress was ready, I was SO EXCITED and couldn't wait to try it on! To this day (although my wedding was less than 2 weeks ago lol) I keep looking at pictures and want to put it back on! Soni is so sweet and so amazing and really fit in with my family and I! She's also so sweet with emailing and making sure her customers are happy. The reason I took one star off is because I had to do some additional alterations to the dress when I got home to San Diego. Wife's wedding dress looked so stunning, I wanted to tear it off her. Oh yeah, there were effusive compliments from the attendees as well. What else is there to say? Tux fit like a glove and the color palette schemes were more amenable than the offerings of Men's Wearhouse. Clothes came in without a hitch and Soni was incredibly helpful and (most importantly) genuinely elated for us. Soni, 5 stars! As a poor college kid, I came to Soni with an idea of what I want and a budget of what I could spend. I ended up with a beautiful dress for not a lot of money. She also has a decent selection of bridesmaids dresses. Her prices are about what they list for the dresses online. She wasn't trying to rip me off. All in all, she's super helpful , worked around my crazy schedule for dress fittings, and found me a dress that needed very little alterations (I have a very weird body type). WOW! I am completely blown away by the helpful, insightful and happy visit my bridesmaid and I had with Soni (pronounced like the electronics brand Sony) at BB Bridal! Soni is professional yet personable, almost brutally honest yet quick to point out what will work best for each of your bridesmaids body types and most importantly she helped me to make a decision about the color of my bridesmaids' dresses without having to "settle" for what's available. All of my beautiful bridesmaids are petite, so I thought putting them in a floor length dress would make them look like hobbits, but Soni was honest by saying how the shorter dress you go, the higher the heel you will need to make the bridesmaids look taller. She also mentioned with floor length dresses, it will give the illusion of looking taller and the importance of possibly putting the bridesmaids in a sweetheart neckline because straight across neckline with make them look bulky. As soon as I saw my bridesmaid in a beautiful floor length, sweetheart neck Alyce Bridesmaid dress, I knew Soni was totally right. My bridesmaid looked so pretty to the point where she would totally compliment but not overpower my dress. I closed my eyes and this time, I could easily imagine all 3 of my bridesmaids walking down the aisle with their sunflower bouquets at the church, talking pictures together outside afterwards and dancing the night away at the reception; all in their golden floor length gowns. Truly this was the most well-balanced bridesmaids dress shopping experience I've had and totally recommend other bride struggling with color decisions/ what to put their bridesmaids in to come to this shop. I was really late to our appointment because I got lost, but I was still able to try on 3 dresses and she let me take pictures of them. I am the Matron of honor for my sisters wedding this march and I needed to order a Bill Levkoff dress. I found Soni on yelp and I'm sooo happy I chose her. She is a measurement goddess! Went to this place because of Soni's good reviews. She really knows what she's doing. She's got a lot of experience but better yet she knows what styles will flatter each figure. I LOVE that Soni is straight forward, she's not rude at all, she's just very efficient in her work and her communications. I'm asian so it's not unsual for me and i felt right at home. I went in stuck on the mermaid fit. I had tried this on at a few other places but it seemed to be just okay. I went into Soni and she had me try on a few dresses and showed me how a fit and flare look was a perfect compromise of fitting for that va-va-voom factor and then the bottom could flow out to make my waist look smaller vs the mermaid which just drew attention to my heavy bottom since it's wider than my top. In any case, the dress I tried on here was the most amazing color and fit me beautifully. I think its the best one I tried on but in the end I just couldn't afford it and the style wasn't exactly me. I would heartily recommend including a trip to BB Bridal. A good consultant is hard to find and if you don't know what looks good on you a trip to her store will show you a dress that flatters your body and looks great. I didn't end up buying my dress here - but Soni was very friendly and professional. Shop is tiny but she has magazines you can dig through to show her what you want to try - kind of felt like she just had Casablanca dresses though. Be careful though, Soni is quite charismatic and persuasive. She had me in a very pretty dress that fit the theme I was going for even though the dress wasn't really my style. She's so charismatic I almost pulled my credit card to pay. Really though, you should be a little careful. Soni is a great salesperson so you have to be on your toes or the next thing you know she's sold you a dress you don't even like. She's so nice and cute though - she gave me a recommendation for a bra to wear (on the wedding day) and reassured me that I am completely within my rights to lie about my bust size on my wedding day. ;) It sucks that I couldn't buy a dress from her. But another bridal consultant found me the perfect dress and when it comes to wedding dresses, I believe in buying from the person who found you the right dress (hey, they earned their commission right?). The store is very small, and I had rather offbeat tastes, so unfortunately I wasn't able to find a dress to my liking. Soni helped me look through her books to get ideas, and help me narrow in on what I want. People will tell you not to try on too many wedding dresses because you'll end up confusing yourself and making your decision harder. In my experience, this is sage advice. I first went to a different shop and probably tried on 10-15 dresses. I had a very clear idea of what I wanted, which turned out to be very, very wrong. Things that looked great on Pinterest did not look great in real life! I hated most of the dresses I tried on but liked a couple of them. I didn't fall in love with anything and I wasn't sure if that was because they really play up "the moment" on Say Yes to the Dress or if that was because I really just hadn't found the right one. I decided to come to BB Bridal because of the great Yelp reviews and Soni did NOT disappoint. She is very much the "Asian mom" type, and because I'm half Filipino, I was comfortable with her style and mannerisms. When I called to make an appointment, she was friendly and very accommodating. She asked me, "Are you hippy or busty?" That question made me laugh, and I told her I was hippy. She said, "Oh... I wish you were busty. That would be easier." Lol. When I arrived at her shop for my appointment, I was a little taken aback because the shop was so small, especially compared to Trudy's, David's, etc. Soni greeted me and locked the door behind her - she wants to make sure that all of her focus is on you and making you happy. As soon as I walked in, I eyed a dress that I thought was beautiful, but I didn't mention anything because it was totally different from what I had pictured myself in. She took a look at me and picked up that exact dress that I was eyeing. Now here's the scary part. Like I mentioned, I'm a "hippy" girl. Her floor model was so small that we weren't even able to pull it over my body. She had me try on a different dress that she said would fit similarly so that I could see the shape of the dress. She then just held the dress up against my body so I could try to envision what it would look it. That was the only dress I looked at, and even without being able to really try it on, I ended up buying that day. I was a little nervous, but I trusted Soni's expertise, plus she's a little pushy. But mostly the expertise thing :) When my dress came in, it was beautiful. It was wrinkled because Soni hadn't steamed it yet, but I could tell it would be great. Soni did my alterations (I did not need many because her measurements and ordering were spot on) and she taught my MOH how to lace up the corset back. She even told her to take pictures because she "didn't want us calling her on my wedding day saying we forgot." Once everything was steamed and ready, my dress was ready to be picked up and it was beautiful. I absolutely loved it. Soni worked with me on price, she was fair about everything, and you could tell she genuinely takes an interest in her customers. I even had her do the cleaning and boxing of my dress after it was done, which of course turned out great. If you're shopping for wedding dresses, I do recommend going to Trudy's or David's first to try on a couple of dresses and get a feel for it. But hold off on buying until you meet Soni because she really is the Dress Whisperer. read more

Soni actually inherited me as a customer, as I bought my dress at another salon that ended up going bankrupt. When I received this news I was told to contact the designer directly as they were still working on my dress and I had to pick another store to send it to. When I spoke to the rep at Casablanca Bridal, they highly recommended Soni at BB Bridal. They told me they have worked with her for many years and she takes care of all her customers and their dresses. Soni has just blown me away with her expertise and customer service. When inheriting my order she was meticulous and asked me all the specifics again to make sure my order was exactly right, and then double checked herself when the dress physically arrived. I have had 2 appointments so far in person with her to check the dress, have the bustle added, steamed, etc. Each time we have left with my Mom, MIL, & MOH taking notes on how to care for the dress and keep it clean, how to walk, what shoes would be easiest to walk in, how they can help me when I put my shoes, dress & veil on, and a bunch of other items that I wouldn't have thought of - at least until much later. She is extremely knowledgeable and her experience and expertise really show. There were so many things that showed me how caring, thoughtful and detail-oriented she is through every step of the process. We went through her for both bridesmaid dresses and my friends wedding dress. My dress was ordered in a size too small, after I told her I would not lose any weight. When it did not fit she told me I had gained an inch (The dress would not have fit me if I was an inch smaller anyways) and then said I should crash diet. I was very disappointed, and the dress would not have fit my original measurements regardless. She would not refund me for the dress. Everyone in our party felt their dresses were too tight and she told us to just starve ourselves. I felt this was unacceptable customer service. I would not recommend her to anyone. Also, when my friend came back for her fitting, she had not even pressed the dress,so it was creased and did not look ready to wear. read more
