I have been going to Hector who works here for years. The problem is not the hair Hector does wonderful amazing hair. The problem is on the business side. On more than one occasion Hector has charged a deposit and not deducted it from the services once for my sister's wedding. When she pointed it out he sent her half via Venmo and said he could not afford the other half till the following week and she never heard from him again. Rather than persue it she choose not to be his client ( her hair is down to her butt and long hair is extra) and not to give him wedding recommendations. Cut to a few weeks ago he wanted a deposit for my friends blowout and my flat iron. She paid she told me what she paid I said what about the deposit she said what deposit. I asked him about it he forgot again. He said I could trade it for services a few weeks later I asked it be traded for bang trims which was less than he owed me. He blocked me and won't respond to me through other channels. He is willing to loose clients over small amounts of money he request as deposits but "forgot" to deduct on more than one occasion then would rather block you than make good. What are the chances he would make the same mistake twice to sisters on separate occasions both times it his favor and not make good on either when called out.Edit: received a reply he says he owes me nothing because he has given me discounts in the past and he "knows his worth" that doesn't change the fact he offered me services of hair in exchange for cash money he owed me. Also my sister's wedding he didn't give her back all the deposit for he made more money than any discount he ever gave me. I know the worth of clients too and doing right by them. read more

I wanted light brown (my natural color) with dark blonde balayage, and a cut with long blended layers. I ended up with almost a copper color since my hair was completely over bleached during balayage (highlights were white) and then all toned way too dark. The cut is horrible; the front layer is one blunt cut just below the chin and does not blend in at all. Zero layers in back. My hair was completely tangled in knots after the shampoo and the hairdresser had to have another come help brush my hair for 20 minutes and i saw clumps fall out. The whole time she knew she was making mistakes and kept saying she was scared and things like "oh no" when she opened the foils, which of course made me anxious the whole time as well (& i was there over 4 hours). Absolutely do not come here if you are used to a professional service. I will have to pay hunders of dollars more somewhere else for correction. read more

Went downtown for a holiday party last night and wanted to schedule a last-minute blowout. I wanted to find a salon within a few blocks of my hotel, and this salon came highly rated online. The experience was wonderful! Was there just under an hour. Had my hair washed with a little bit of a head massage and neck massage before the blowout started. My hair turnout out beautifully for the evening! I paid $49 in cash which is a pretty standard price! Docked a star because the location isn't the best. Lots of transient people around. However, I heard the salon is moving to Hillcrest. I'd recommend this spot if you need a blowout while downtown! read more
