OMG. I ordered this place online. It's literally some of the best fried chicken I ever had. I don't know if it's because I recently gave up vegetarianism of 16 years (lol) but this food is soooo good! I've been obsessed and ordering every week! The kimchi fried rice is very good too. Huge portions and I don't even really care for rice like that

Hopping off the red line and need a quick bite to eat? Look no further! I was spontaneously hungry on my commute to a buddies of mine and came across this place. Korean fried chicken always raises my eyebrows (in the best way possible) so I thought I'd give it a try. The chicken is perfectly breaded! I'm a light-breading kind of guy, and bb.q definitely did not over do it. The sauce I got was the Special Sauce and it was good. It had some sweetness with a little kick. I'll give some of the other flavors a try next time. I'm sure I'll find another gem in the 20 sauces they offer!

If you're a fan of crispy, juicy, finger-licking BBQ chicken, this place is a must-try! I stopped by on a whim, and I'm so glad I did. First of all, the chicken is on another level -- perfectly grilled, tender inside, with just the right amount of smoky char. I tried the spicy garlic and honey BBQ flavors, and both were incredible. The spicy garlic had a nice kick without being overwhelming, and the honey BBQ was sweet, tangy, and addictive. The sides were also great -- I got the coleslaw and waffle fries, and both were fresh and flavorful. Portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable for what you get. Service was friendly and fast. The staff actually seemed to care whether I was enjoying my food (rare these days!). The place was clean, casual, and had a cozy vibe -- perfect for a chill dinner with friends or a quick solo meal. Definitely coming back. Next time, I'm trying the soy garlic wings and their mac & cheese!

I ordered on the phone for pick up and he completely understood me no problem and when I went to pick it up, my Total was like 29$ with some change and I gave him a 50$. He give me 10 back In return and I end up headed out but I call him back asking him that I just left and how much my order was because I didn't get a receipt and he acted like he didn't even understand what I was saying when I was clearly asking him that I just left and he didn't give me a receipt. I didn't wanna call Him out because it's Christmas but he kept the other 9$ and I know it's not much but he acted like he couldn't understand me after I was asking for my reciet and how much it was

Best Korean fried chicken in Chicago please go see for yourself great service clean restaurant

The food is fantastic, spicy, crunchy, sweet, tangy! Everything they advertise. Truth! Kimchi fried rice is above bar! I always get takeout but the service at the counter is good. The decor is pretty modern nice flooring!

The chicken is amazing. The flavours are so great and the chicken is cooked to perfection (aka not dry). The service was swift and the waiter was kind. 10/10 would recommend.

The wife and I got carry out from here after work. Starting with the good, the wings were delicious. We ordered Secret spicy wings and Mala hot wings. I had some trouble telling them apart, but they were juicy, properly cooked and well breaded. The wife preferred the secret spicy. She gives the wings 5 stars. The fries we ordered with the wings were average. They needed some salt. The Spicy original chicken sandwich needs some help. It was dry and tasteless. I would recommend ordering some sauce on the side. I may try that next time. Stick with the wings.

This restaurant was incredible and is easily in my top 3 restaurants in Chicago. It's super cute inside, very ambient with the lit up green lights at the bar. The staff were so friendly and helpful, explaining the menu. The menu is SO vegetarian friendly!! And gluten friendly as well, just make sure you ask and they can make tweaks. Everything had such a rich profile flavor - savory, salty, sweet, spicy. I love the use of lemongrass! We tried as many things as we could fit - the mango salad (nyorm svai), bok tropp, chien trop, amok tawhou. I would've loved to try dessert but this was genuinely soo much food! They give big portions. It's hard to pick favorites because I would order everything again, but the bok tropp might take the gold. The eggplant was perfectly crispy and the sauce that came with it... insane!! Also even though we were in the more informal side, the presentation for all the dishes would beautiful. I can't recommend this place enough!

We ordered the Nyom Svai, Mee Kola, Loaded Rice Bowl with Chicken, Cha Mee Katang (with added fried egg and shrimp), and a Pandan Waffle Side. Everything had great flavors, and we enjoyed almost every dish. The Nyom Svai was a great salad paired with fried tilapia, and the Mee Kola had a similar flavor profile. Both dishes were colorful and full of flavor. The Cha Mee Katang was delicious and definitely one of the hits of the meal. We also really enjoyed the Loaded Rice Bowl, and the cheese was especially good with the rice. The only miss for me was the Pandan Waffles. The waffle fell a little flat and seemed slightly undercooked. The mango and pineapple were a nice addition, though, and the ube syrup went well with the fruit and waffle. Service here is calm and relaxed. They give you time to eat and enjoy your food, but they're always checking in to make sure you have everything you need. Overall, it's a nice spot for a relaxed brunch with plenty of interesting dishes to try.

At noon, they unlocked the door, no hello or greeting - just straight behind the counter and to the kitchen for us to order at the screen in the front. The screen was filthy (they just opened as a reminder) we couldn't tell what was in the 'combo' and then when we were going to order the boneless chicken wings, as they were gluten free when we ordered them years ago, I asked one of the women in the kitchen to confirm. She said no, I don't think so. And walked away without any further guidance for what I might be able to eat on their menu. It's not a preference, it's a dietary restriction - so we walked out from there. They clearly had no interest in helping me or our business. I am telling on myself not for clout, but as a cautionary tale that you do not repeat my mistakes. You see, I lumped in Ezankaya with Ye Olde Stereotypical Thai place. You know the one, with the same copy-paste Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. I am very pleased to report that Ezankaya is not that. I had the pleasure of trying: Crab Rangoons, Hamachi Crudo, Khoa Soi with Beef, and a Citrus Magic Blue (non-alcoholic) beverage. The Crab Rangoons were hot, fresh, and flavorful, and without the taste of old oil. The wonton was thin and crisp without greasiness. The filling, albeit a little on the sweet side, as is typical of Thai interpretations, hit the right spot in this rangoon-lover's heart. The Hamachi Crudo, while not my favorite dish as a matter of personal taste and preference alone, was well executed. The slices of fish were generously thick and allowed to shine. The ponzu dressing bestowed a light acidic brightness to the hamachi and the greens below. Now, while I appreciate the thought and sentiment behind the jalapeño and tobiko, I didn't feel this was enough to elevate this appetizer beyond a citrusy fish. Then we arrive at the Khoa Soi. A dish with warming spices (though not spicy), and fantastic turmeric curry flavor. There was a balanced amount of meat, and while not shy about the noodles, this appears to be by design. In the scope of the dish, everything just worked. I also loved that chili oil and some veggies are offered on the side, that they may be added to taste, and maintain their freshness and bite. The Citrus Magic Blue was a unique and delectable beverage. There were light coconut notes, a hint of acid, and that indescribable flavor which comes from butterfly pea flowers. If you're okay with a little sweetness, this is worth getting. The service here was fantastic! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Bonus points for calling out that the Khoa Soi with chicken is bone-in and would need some work. The food came out fast, also, despite the restaurant being busy. The vibe, for lack of a better term, is maximalist. There is a ton of color and Asian/Thai/Japanese-inspired decor. In the face of an increasing number of establishments going for the same, neutral, boring feel, I love that Ezankaya is not shy about using color, fun, and perhaps even whimsy. Finally, there is the matter of price. When the bill came, I was already mentally prepared for a gut punch. However, despite two appetizers, a main, and a non-alcoholic beverage, the prices came below expectations. Sure, it's not cheap per se, but when a McDonald's QPC and small fry costs $9, cheap as we knew it isn't on the menu anywhere. Final verdict: Ezankaya excels in all the ways that count. They have unique, interesting, well-executed, and delicious food. The only items I didn't love were a matter of personal taste, and not a failure on the kitchen's part. The experience is rounded off with excellent service, a fun vibe, and reasonable prices. Would recommend?: Hands down, yes. The menu is approachable and contains both Thai and Japanese items. Bring some friends, try some more food, and enjoy! Would return?: Absolutely, and I look forward to exploring more of their Thai and Japanese menus.
