We moved out of state, and we still haven't found...and probably never will find...another place quite like Mel & Faye's. It's the food, the drinks, the service, but more than anything, it's the people. My go-to is the cranberry walnut salad with chicken (so good!), and Sean loves the sourdough burger. The food is always great, but honestly, we come back for the atmosphere and the people who make this place feel like family. Mary is always a hoot as our server, and we absolutely love the entire staff. Bart and Maura have created something really special here, and we appreciate them more than they know. Every time we come back to town, one of the things we look forward to most is walking through those doors, seeing familiar faces, catching up, and feeling right at home again. We miss everyone when we're away, but it makes our visits that much more special. Mel & Faye's will always be our home away from home.

Also comes with lettuce, tomato, fresh and pickled onion plus you can ask for ketchup and mustard. Great size, delicious and the bun was like no other. They also have gluten free buns. I got smashed red potatoes as my side, also delicious. I opted for water, it's "strawberry" water so has the essence of strawberries. The large pitcher which they serve from has big ripe strawberries. What a refreshing treat instead of plain or lemon water. My mom and I had a very nice breakfast, again the customer service was excellent and the woman owner chatted with us, was quite friendly and personable. Again she was just a delight. I can't wait to go back and try some other menu items. Reasonable priced, please tip your waiter, their customer service and care is amazing.

On this trip I picked up some frozen ribeyes, sirloins, burgers, breakfast sausage patties, cheddar jalapeno sausages, and some chile verde and ranch house chicken. The chicken items I got come vacuum sealed, which is perfect when I plan to sous vide them. The things I wish I got more of was their honey pepper beef sticks and hot teriyaki beef jerky. It's very affordable and perfect for snacks. Another low key thing that we like are their frozen chicken wellingtons. super easy to bake at home and it's a tasty meal. I arrived in the morning and luckily it wasn't super busy. Grabbed a basket and before I knew it I had enough meats and snacks to feed a large family when in reality, it's just for a couple of us. $153 well spent and meals for days. The prices for the tri-tips have more than doubled since 2020, but honestly, still a great deal considering the size. $35-40 for a good sized marinated tri-tip is still a steal of a price. The mother lode tri tip is a can't miss and a fan favorite at any of our family bbqs. Definitely plan to bring a cooler and some ice packs so you can keep your meats stored properly in route to back home.

The clam chowder was the soup of the day and so so good, I love when clam chowder has potatoes with the skin still attached. He went into the shop and tried on a pair of slip-on sandals. Happy with the shoes he tried on, the employee went to the back and brought out a box. My son paid and left. He only wore the shoes into the Podiatrist office. The Podiatrist informed him he was sold women's shoes that was why they didn't feel right. When he took the shoes back they would not exchange them for the men's shoe he was supposed to get. He had to pay for yet another pair of shoes. Upon returning to the store with my son, the man (possible owner) was rude and unwilling to make THEIR mistake right. We will never shop there again and we will definitely be sharing our experience with everyone we know! It is a shame when you want to support a local store and the customer service is so pathetic.

Ever since Bistro Saechao opened a few months ago, I have been wanting to try their food! I first found about this place via their social media accounts. I finally had the chance to try Bistro Saechao out earlier this week! The Thai Satay sandwich had always called out to me, and it was delicious! The sandwiches are all freshly made to order, and I got it on the French roll. The peanut coleslaw was so refreshing! The chicken satay was super juicy and flavorful, with tons of sauce dripping from the sandwich. The French roll was perfectly crispy and held up well with all the sauce from the chicken and the peanut coleslaw. I love a good alternative to traditional banh mi, and this was excellent. As for the drink, I had the Tutti Fruity smoothie in a 16 Oz, and as it was a pretty warm day, I was thankful for such a refreshing drink. The ube foam was a great addition to the smoothie, and all of the components meshed well. Nothing clashed in terms of flavor or texture. Bistro Saechao is inside Jackson Fitness, but it is a quiet front area and there are bar chairs inside as well as a few rustic metal tables outside to sit if you wish to eat there. The owners are super friendly and are always keen to answer any questions about the menu, and the food is made with care, so expect a reasonable wait time after you order. I would love to try the other food/sandwich selections Bistro Saechao offers, as well as their other smoothies. I will be back in the near future!
