Me and my wife have had BBQ all over the U.S. Texas was the last state where I had brisket that was worth a dang. We decided to try multiple meats ; sausage, brisket, and pull pork. The brisket we saved for last as multiple BBQ joints let us down here. Boy we messed up that should of been the first! This place what ever their doing literally makes true Texas style BBQ. Awesome BBQ, a little pricey but it's worth it. You can get pulled pork by the pound, and it's very good. Ribs were cooked medium but tender as a baby's bottom. I don't know how he did that (I have to cook mine well done falling off the bone to be as tender. Must be his meat. read more

We tried a lot of what they had and everything was pretty amazing. We did the Texas Plate and added a meat. I had the turkey breast and chicken with Mac n cheese and fried okra. Hubby had the brisket and ribs with cole saw and baked beans. My favorite was the sauce, it was AMAZING. My next favorite, to my surprise, was the turkey breast. It was so flavorful and moist. The ribs, brisket, and chicken were excellent too, and even better with a bit of sauce. The sides: real macaroni and cheese, seriously, the real deal! The cole slaw is for the cole slaw purist, the beans were excellent, and the okra was good, but we took it out and it would have been better eaten in. I loved the decor. Not great. Had the family platter with brisket, smoked turkey and pulled pork. None of it was very flavorful. Had to drown it in sauce, which I didn't love. Mac and cheese was cold and mushy. Beans were okay but too sweet. Cole slaw was flavorless. We also ordered a half pound rib, which cost as much as the platter, and was fatty and gross. Not sure why all the great reviews:( read more

Best BBQ in the Harbor!! We had the three meat tray that came with generous portions. the fast and friendly service made it great. The smoke was just right. The meat was tender and juicy. The bbq sauce runs sweet but the tabasco-Sriracha sauce mixed great to add heat without as much tang. The baked beans run sweet as well, but go to another level when mixed with the bbq and hot sauce. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the portions. The three meat tray will feed a family of four. Definitely going again! read more

We ordered the Texas Tray, Brisket, pulled pork, side of SUPER coleslaw, and the YUMMY, CREAMY MAC,CHEESE. The brisket was soooo good and tender, the pulled pork, to die for YUMMY!!! BBQ is very different for everyone. We prefer the smoked goodness of BBQ2U and adding our own sauce as required. After reading some of the reviews, I will say it can be hit or miss. Sometimes it's perfect, and sometimes it's dry. But overall, we enjoy going there, getting our order to go, and eating on the family meal for days. Let me preface this by saying I am very picky, especially when it comes to meat. I was excited to try this place because of the great reviews and it's close to our house. It wasn't too crowded when we got there, but quickly filled up with a large dinner crowd. There's a "take a menu" sign when you walk in as well as a menu posted at the counter, where you order. There weren't a whole lot of sides to choose from, so I really hoped I would like the meat. The guys at the counter were very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu and portion sizes. My husband ordered the brisket and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich-both were prepared right there in front of us. We also ordered a side of beans and fried okra. Several of the Yelp reviews commented negatively on there being just one flavor of bbq sauce on the table. Let me tell you, you don't need it. The brisket literally fell apart it was so tender and had THE BEST flavor-it was delicious. My pulled pork sandwich was huge and equally delicious. Neither needed anything added to it. I've never had fried okra before, so I have nothing to compare it to. It, too, was super yummy. The beans were mediocre, but everything else was so amazing that it made up for it. Today I made my second attempt to go to Bbq2u because they had sold out and closed for the day by the time I got there on their opening day. Luckily it was worth the effort to go back and try again. I ordered the Texas tray with both pulled pork and brisket and potato salad and beans in the side. Some of the best beans I've ever had and everything else was great. The only 2 things I would change was they didn't have any limes for my Corona and I really would have liked a place to take a nap after eating that much food. read more

Today I had something I probably wouldn't have ordered if it hadn't been reccomend by one of the staff. It was in a boat and had amazing pulled pork with piping hot fries and topped with cheese. BBQ2U will not disappoint! This is one of my new favorites in Gig Harbor. They have done an excellent job and have really put together great flavors. It reminds me a lot of Cooper's in Dallas. The portions are perfect. The brisket is by far the best selection on the menu. The smokey flavoring is not too overpowering. Truly, they have nailed it! Love the atmosphere and the friendly staff. The smoked turkey, brisket and spare ribs are fabulous! The large portions are moist and yummy. The relish sides are a plus. The Okra is bland and the beans are too sweet though. We will keep going back because the main meat dishes are spot on and it's a little bit of Texas in the great NW! Our suggestions are: 1). Have a vanilla ice cream available to make root bear floats with the yummy bottles of root beer, 2). hot fresh cornbread, 3). pecan pie 4). hot soft dinner rolls, 5). seasoning - salt, pepper and season salt - in the okra corn meal mixture, 6). Confirm plastic wear inventory for example knives and 7). Ranch style pinto beans. read more

Trying to plan this long distance since we are in Texas was a feat but Gary made it simple and easy and his service was outstanding!!! I can't stay away! Lunch today was amazing as usual! The people that work behind the counter are always so joyful and have big smiles on their faces. They also encourage me to sample all different kind of meats which means I end up walking out with way more barbecue than I need! I must say it never goes to waste!
