so glad we decided to check out bbq'd productions - the food, service, everything was amazing! my fiance and I went with the chef special for 2 people. It came with 7 different meats and 2 big sides. So filling, juicy, and tasty! our favorites were the bbq chicken and ribs. Our server Madelynne went above and beyond with helping us out, explaining their homemade signature sauces, and making sure we were taken care of. would definitely recommend and would come back again!

It's been a while since we ordered for delivery. We have visited the location in the past many times. Tonight we ordered a combo of rib tips and bunt ends. We asked for them with the sauce on the side, make them dry. Both items were really dry and tough - clearly old. No sauce on the side. Food was fairly inedible. We tried but gave up. It really was nothing like you get when in person. They used to be our go to place, but this was really disappointing.

We dropped in to this establishment this evening for an early dinner. Immediately I was confronted with the difficulty of entering the door as the the weather cover door installed for seasonal weather concerns was constrained from opening fully. This made entry with my sons walker extremely difficult. The ambiance upon entry is very nicely done. It is a mix of normal dining tables and bar high tops with multiple flat screens surrounding two dining areas. The menu selection is extensive. My son chose the burger which he said was really good and it was accompanied with a large helping of fries and he selected baked beans as his second side dish. Other options were numerous. I opted for the pulled pork, a salad and mac n cheese. The food was good but the pork lacked any significant smoke flavor and was a bit on the dry side. The BBQ sauces were a great selection. One would have to be ultra picky to not be able to find one of them that just tickled their taste buds.

I hate giving 1-star reviews, truly. Especially when it's a place I've recommended before, especially when it involves a momentous occasion like this. But this experience left me no choice. We spent $400 on catering for a retirement party for a highly respected member of our organization. This was planned weeks in advance, with careful attention to detail. The invoice clearly stated a pickup time of 11:00 AM with the note: "To ensure the freshness of your order, please arrive within 10 minutes of your scheduled pickup time." I arrived at 11-ish to give them a cushion. What happened next was a slow unraveling of confidence in the establishment. The Breakdown -- What Went Wrong I arrived on time. The staff told me the pickup was scheduled for noon. I showed them the invoice with the 11:00 pickup confirmation. Still, I waited over an hour while the front-of-house staff tried to sort out what had gone wrong. I couldn't even pay for my order immediately -- another issue emerged, further delaying things. It was problem after problem. The server who helped me was 100% professional and patient--I want to emphasize that. However, the communication between catering, back-of-house, and front-of-house did not match. It's as if each department were reading from a different playbook. Unfortunately, my order--and my event--paid the price. By the time I left, the food had been sitting for quite a while. What was supposed to be fresh was now room temperature. This ruined the entire purpose of picking up early: to serve warm food on time for a 12:30 event. Instead, I arrived flustered and disappointed, carrying trays of underwhelming, cold dishes. Let's Talk About the Food - Major Disappointments This is just to highlight some of the items. Stale Slider Buns ($15): These were as hard as bricks. Even the veterans at the party -- folks who can make MREs taste good -- warned me not to feed them to wildlife. That's how bad they were. Cornbread ($42): They were wet-like in texture but completely tasteless. CORNBREAD $42... CORNBREAD. wasn't top tier because it wasn't a popular dish in our party, and we LOVE conbread. This one didn't sit right, and the rice was crazy high for what it is. Street Corn Salad ($35): This was supposed to be a BBQ-style street corn dish. I expected fresh, grilled corn with garlic, scallion, and cilantro -- something vibrant. Instead, I got what looked like canned corn and questionable tomatoes sitting in a pool of liquid. It lacked flavor, texture, and visual appeal. Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese (Half Portion--$45): Now, imagine if I had spent $90 for the whole portion. This is compared to a couple of racks of ribs and a bucket of beers. No brainer, right? Chopped Brisket ($78 for 3 lbs): As someone who grills regularly, I can confidently say this was not 3 lbs. The portion size was weak, the texture was minced (not chopped), and the guests were left hungry and unimpressed. Usually, with Brisket (Big Ed's BBQ), there's none left, but this gameplay at BBQ production fell short. Final Thoughts This was an important event. I put my trust -- and my team and I put a significant amount of money -- into this catering order to ensure it would be a smooth, memorable celebration. Instead, I waited a little over an hour, served cold food, and explained to guests why things didn't turn out as planned. Let me be clear: cost has never been the issue. I'm happy to pay a premium for excellent service and great food. What's frustrating is the lack of consistency and quality control and the disconnect between what's being marketed and what's delivered. If you advertise something freshly made, it should never arrive dry, flavorless, or straight-up stale. The details matter--especially when your customers trust you with milestone moments. Shout out to the umpire (my server), who handled the chaos patiently and professionally. If I could rate her separately, she'd get 5 stars. But this 1 star goes to today's breakdown -- and the last time, when my card was charged twice (though we won't get into that mess). This place is a hit-or-miss spot. And unfortunately, today was a strikeout. Bottom of the ninth, bases loaded, and they served up a stale bun instead of a grand slam.

Great service the moment we stepped in. They were so kind and welcoming. The brisket was so tender and juicy. The sauce i used ( they have 5-6 house made sauces) the sweet and spicy sauce, which paired perfectly. Tiny tiny kick with the nice tangy sweetness. I also tried their ribs, which were just melting in the mouth.

Nachos are the best thing on the menu. Brisket was too fatty for me and too much smoke (had charcoal taste). Pulled pork sandwich is good.

Service simply off the charts amazing. Had chopped brisket sandwich, piled high with superb quality smoked meat and sauce. Even something simple as fries were crispy, hot, well seasoned. My ex wife had sliced brisket and green beans. Generous portions and delicious. Fantastic selections of really tasty sauces. Large selection of cold drinks. Fantastic decor paying tribute to military, police, fire. Oh yeah, fairly priced for an outstanding overall experience. Highly recommended on every level. A real gem. The Cuisine Umpire says: "Three Strikes and You're OUT!"…read moreHere's the third Yelp I've done about "Mission BBQ" and I'm afraid the Mission was NOT accomplished. The last time we went to one, (In Naperville, IL q.v. my Yelp for it), We were totally bummed as it was a truly disappointing feed, bordering on the inedible: A piece of "Prime Rib" not ready for prime time, adipose pulled pork, and ribs with bone shrapnel. Ug. We had to pick up Grandson and Date from Six Flags Great America down the road, and we were early enough to wedge dinner in before we were expected at the park. Nothing else looked appetizing in the stretch of Illinois 132 just west of G.A., so we figured the last time at Mission was SO awful, it had to be a fluke, and this store should CERTAINLY be better. It wasn't. We both had "2 meat" plates- I with Ribs, Sausage and Wife had Ribs and pulled pork. We both had slaw and fries. The pulled pork was the least offensive of the proteins. This time, it was the opposite of last time--not so fatty, and not so flavorful either. Dry and insipid. The Sausage was mushy and strangely lacking in real flavor. And the goddamned Ribs were the same ineptly butchered mess we ran into in Naperville. Shards of Bones at the top of the cut. Slightly over-smoked/over-cooked as well. WTF? That much of the same criticism of Naperville was in play here made us think this is the way things are served at Mission BBQ and not an anomaly. A mention to the manager wouldn't help things. Now in the "Every theory has a corollary" dept: As in Naperville the slaw, fries and cornbread were pretty good; as was the Iced Tea and fountain drink "throw". The sauces were all pretty good too. Wished there was some decent "Q" to put them on. Maybe it's just our taste, or we are spoiled by "Q" in our visits to the South, but there's no excuse for the lazy butchering of the ribs, or the mushiness of the sausage. I know "corporate" chains tamp down spices in the "come bet" common palates will desire a less bold cuisine, but DAMN! this is BARBEQUE. American Q is NOT a "safe" proposition. This isn't the cuisine to play it safe. Then again, it's not meant as an insult, but Suburban denizens (unless you're a suburb of, say...Austin Texas) prolly aren't in for foods meant to challenge. I see enough 5star Yelps indicating a lot of folks like this place; so I'll assume Wife and I are the outliers. We haven't found a whole lot of Suburban Northern Q supremely edible. The whole mishegoss is a dilemma, as Mission BBQ is deep into honoring our service Men & Women. We are, too. That a portion of the (considerable) cash we left there goes to Service folks soothes at least part of the sting of a lousy feed...

Well, now I can't go to B&B anymore. The area is less inviting without them, it's left a massive hole here that likely won't be filled. Trying to buck up... I'm wishing the family all the best moving forward! They are still running their Facebook page for the business, with a post saying they will have more information soon. Whatever they plan, I hope to be eating their food somewhere not to far from here in the near future. Goodbye for now, hopefully not sayonara. And thanks for the good times!

Terrific owner and staff. My only affiliation is I love their food. And it's so reasonably priced too. Lunch or dinner. On Rt 45 just north of Washington.

Great neighborhood restaurant & hidden gem!…read more I'll preface this review with a small disclaimer and apology of sorts. I'm a nearly life long resident of Gurnee (36 of my years) and have only been here twice now, and both in the last month. Just recently took my parents because my first visit went so well. They have lived and worked in Gurnee since the early 80s and somehow have never been either, until now. How did I even end up here after all these years? I kept seeing mentions on social media. It was giving WI supper club kinda vibes of which I'm a HUGE fan of and I was like well I need to check this out! It's also like a 3 min drive from my home so win win. First time I went with my friend during the week, great experience everything was great! My parents aren't easy to please but I was confident and brought them on over this Saturday and another home run. We ordered the mozzarella appetizer and also the breaded shrimp appetizer, both were good. Entrees included a burger, shish kabob, prime rib sandwich, and the 18 oz prime rib. Everything was fabulous. The prime rib is perfect, red skin mashed are amazing. Beverages were a little bit of everything, mom loves black coffee but she will do cream and sugar if it's not great, they brought a large mug and she loved it, didn't even need the cream and sugar. The others got fountain drinks (Coke products which are preferred) and free refills which kept coming and was appreciated. I had a Maker's old fashioned, it was classic WI supper club style. I'll now devote an entire paragraph to the wine pours. First visit, I had a glass of the Robert Mondavi Pinot Noir, and was shocked at the pour, very very decent! Ordered the same at my second visit and maybe slightly less shocked but still, great pour! Granted this isn't the Courtyard by Marriott Westbury NY (if you are on TikTok you know what I mean), but this is a hearty pour and basically just all sorts of fabulous. You cannot go wrong with a glass of wine here! Dessert tray comes out after dinner, nice selection to choose from, both times we got a turtle cheesecake which can really do no wrong. Mom got the Dubai style cake, and the guys got vanilla ice cream. They don't make the desserts in house but they are solid options, very very good. Some environmental notes: they have the grill inside for steaks etc, so you do leave smelling a bit like the grill, not off putting to myself much, and I'm very sensitive and have allergies etc. Restrooms were spotless both times, super clean. I don't recall any music but nice conversations hum going on during the busy Saturday night service so had a pleasant volume etc. The building is older, but everything is in really nice shape/condition. You can come casual in jeans and a hoody or a bit more dressed up and feel comfortable either way. I noticed lots of local folks who recognized others in passing and stopped to say hi to each other, really gave it a nice community feel. Long story short, a nice hidden gem local place with a WI supper club feel and a nice sense of community. Solid menu and nicely executed dishes and drinks. Nice service and competitive pricing as well. Highly recommend if you live in town and never tried it, but visitors to Gurnee will feel welcome too!

We came by for dinner on a Friday night after not knowing what to eat. Hearing so much about this…read moreplace nearby we decided to pop in. As we were seated (we came by right about opening time) the restaurant FILLED up. It's so amazing to see a family restaurant fill up with so many folks, some repeat and so many new faces as well to staff and they were joyous as ever to have folks there. We started with the Italian beef egg rolls, they weren't my favorite because they were a bit sweet for me, I think I just have been on a spicy kick so I was looking for that. But not bad after all, I just more loved the French onion soup, the caramelized onion, the bread, the great flavors. It was delish! So much so we ordered a second because we no longer wanted to share. Haha For our entrees we got the half slab of ribs, and the ribeye. Each entrees comes with an app of soup or salad, the entree and a side. The ribs were incredible, we'd come back weekly to eat the ribs if we didn't become a giant ball, haha. The flavors the smokiness and fall off the bone. Delish. The steak was tender and cooked to the perfect temp. We got a side of bernaise sauce and grilled onions and it was a great steak. For dessert we wrapped up with the carrot cake, it's the best I've had in a while! So excited because carrot cake is my favorite cake and to have a Place that has such a good one nearby home is so fun. Overall we had a great experience. The staff was so great with our little one and checked in with us often. The manager/ owner checked in on us halfway through the meal too. It's been a while since we got a table checked and that was a nice experience. Also the steak pit was super fun to see too!
