Disgusting! The food was below subpar. But have no fear, when my husband and I arrived it was a total of maybe four tables occupied (restaurant is huge, esp for a BBQ place). We tossed most of the food and the BBQ didn't taste smoked but like they poured a smoked liquid of some sort on it. This is a family favorite. We've visited multiple locations 8-10 different times. We typically visit the third lake location and have always been treated very well. Their serving staff is welcoming and accommodating to our family - we have 2 little kids who require high chairs and a service dog who requires a little extra space. The food has always been remarkable. We typically get the chef's special platter which is an excellent variety of their different meats. But my favorite is always the burnt ends - so good! The smoked gouda Mac n cheese is a wonderful side. There is a great selection for everyone here. Highly recommended. read more

Bbq Productions has really gone down hill. We ordered the two meat platter with two sides. We received exactly 12 very small burnt ends and 7 ribs. The fries were a grand total of 16 and Cole slaw which had zero flavor. All for $32.00. This is the second time in the last two months going there and there won't be a third. read more

Have had this food many times. They are great for catering as well. The only reason I didn't give that elusive last star is because their staff (casting a broad net, not sure exactly who it was) didn't know the menu and ingredients when I asked about a food allergy. Burnt ends were way over cooked. Dry and all flavor was from the excessive amount of rub. It tastes like they were cooked a few days ago and in a tray the tossed on the griddle to reheat. Cozy little spot and perfect place to cool off with a cold beer. The food was absolutely delicious! We started with the nachos and buffalo egg roll appetizer--simply wow! For our entrees, we had the burnt ends and hot link sandwich, while our kids enjoyed the Mac and cheese and burger. Every dish was a hit. If you're craving delicious barbecue with excellent service, I highly recommend this place. Our server, Ashley, was a gem, offering fantastic recommendations for mixing their BBQ sauces--impressive! BBQ'd Productions isn't too far removed from Real Urban BBQ or City Barbeque. My suggestion here would be to increase the portion size of the entrees and side dishes. But otherwise, the service is outstanding and it's a low-key and friendly atmosphere to meet a friend group. There's also six different varieties of squeeze bottle sauce at each table, so you can go to town adding some extra flavor. My favorite is the Sam Adams Boston Lager sauce. The appetizers just weren't it. Our nacho plate was full enough with toppings, but the chips themselves were stale. Their quesadillas are fine, a bit too greasy to fully appreciate. But of course, you are mainly coming here for the smoked meats. I rarely eat brisket, but these are bombastic burnt ends. So tender, meaty, and succulent. This place is a half hour drive from me. While I never would come here out of the blue, I am sold on meeting friends here again. Just with some tweaks to my next meal. read more

The BBQ here was so delicious. I didn't want to stop eating. Portions were a decent size so there's plenty of leftovers. If I were in the area, I would definitely return. The service was really friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We got wings and nachos to start. If you're there for the BBQ, unless you purposely want leftovers, i would skip ordering appetizers. You'll still have leftovers just ordering the double meat entree BBQ meal. I can't say enough good things about my experience here. Being from Memphis, I was going to pass on this place thinking there was no way their barbecue would come close to anything in Memphis. Because the reviews were so good, I had to give it a try. I came in here on a Friday night by myself not expecting much. But, long story short, I was blown away! I was seated immediately & the assistant manager was my waiter. He was very kind, attentive, & helpful in helping me select food, beer, and any questions I had. I can't speak for the ribs which would ultimately be the true test, but another staple of a good quality barbecue place is their nachos. I ordered the large barbecue brisket nachos listed under the appetizer section as a meal & they were absolutely incredible! Wowowow. Arguably the best nachos I've ever had & I nearly ate the entire $14 plate in 1 sitting but decided to save some so I could relive this flavorful experience again the next night for dinner (it was just as good as the first time & they gave me bbq sauce to go). Another two things I really liked were the extensive drink menu & variety in barbecue sauces which were all incredible. Definitely recommend this place & I hope to try the ribs next time! 15/10 on the brisket nachos! Well done. read more

I came here for lunch and was immediately acknowledged with a smile and was quickly sat down. The dining area was nice and spacious with high bar tables to the left, and shorter tables on the right side of the restaurant. Their menu looked very promising with so many good choices. I ordered their 5 oz brisket sandwich and it tasted phenomenal. The brisket was juicy and tender with a nice smoke flavor. Just like brisket should be done. I also ordered their Mac and cheese as my side. It was tasty, but not sure if I'd order that again as my side. I'd probably choose either their mashed potatoes or beans. The only problem with this place is their bbq sauces. They're all so damn good it's hard just to stick to one sauce. I mean, I'm not a big fan of their Alabama white, and never been a big fan of a Carolina style, but IBC Root Beer, seriously? And then you make a Maple Chipotle and a Chicago Sweet & Spicy...y'all got some major problems trying to give you're customers to much good stuff at all once! And then they make a Sam Adams bbq sauce if you're into that type of thing. Overall I left extremely satisfied and will definitely be returning to try out some other things off their menu. So disappointed in BBQ Productions in Third Lake! Ordered a Grey Goose and tonic and was not informed that the tonic would be an additional $4.25 on top of the $10.00 drink as they don't have tonic on tap. Asked for the mananager and the manager told me that the owner doesn't allow him to take any charges off the bill. He was afraid of losing his job over $4.25 because his the fourth manager in as many months!! What is the point of having a manager if they can't make a customer happy! We spent over $150. Not sure if they are under new ownership but definitely won't be going back. No need to call my husband, it was my review not my husband's. It's unfortunate that a manager could not de-escalate the situation. No need to remove the the tip either. Hope it's a learning experience for the manager! Again, this has nothing to do with my husband or my husband's job and everything to do with how I was treated so leave my husband out of it!! Thank you!! read more

There were many options so we decided to share our food so we can try more items. We started off with a bottle of locally brewed beer: Goose Island Matilda ... so smooth! We ordered the BBQ Nachos Brisket. The brisket was really tender but the chips had gotten stale from all the picture-taking -- gotta feed the camera lens first! :) I really liked how they offered an assortment of BBQ sauces. Among my favorites were the Alabama White and the Carolina Vinegar. The Smoked Gouda Mac n Cheese was pretty good. I also enjoyed the 1/2 rack of ribs. Mmm mmm mmm! This is a semi-regular place for us and usually the food excellent but the last couple times it didn't hit the mark. The last time I ate there I ordered nachos and there were so many chips but all the cheese and toppings were on the top only. So I was left with a plate of plain chips and nothing to do with them. The manager came over to talk to me (restaurant was empty as it was late) and ask how the food was. I told her about the issue with the quantity of chips and only having toppings on the top layer. She said this was an issued that has been expressed before. I suggested they put toppings on every layer, she liked the idea and said she would pass it on to the kitchen. The food here is always fresh and flavorful. The restaurant is always clean and has lots of tvs to watch sports. The prices are reasonable and I would definitely recommend it. read more
