Ordering Gumbo at a restaurant in my experience is a road to disappointment, but BB's really came through! The gumbo had so much flavor, you can taste the thoughtfulness behind the preparation. The Fried shrimp were a good size, a safe option if you're unsure what to order and the French fries deadly. I almost had to ask for more! Fried pickles were okay, In my opinion could have crispier. Boudin balls had a generous amount of filling, I couldn't tell if it was the sauce or the balls but there was a nice hint of spice. If it's a nice day, I recommend getting outdoor seating. My wife and I met with friends at this restaurant based on their recommendation. I did not take any pictures because the presentation of most dishes was not memorable. I ordered the shrimp gumbo, fried pickle's, and garden salad with Parmesan vinaigrette. The gumbo was lukewarm, the fried pickles were ok, and the garden salad was good but the dressing lacked flavor. We ordered boudin balls, and empanadas for the table. The empanadas were decent, but the boudin balls had so much breading you could not taste the filling. One or guest ordered the ceviche and did not finish it because of lack of taste. My family and I found this restaurant via Yelp and we had passed by a few times and wanted to try it out. We entered and were quickly seated by a very sweet hostess/server. As we sat at our table and we're viewing the menu, a server, Jacinda, passed us several times and made eye contact each time without welcoming us or even saying someone would be with us. We sat at the table about 4-5 minutes watching the server walking back and forth serving others. My family decided to leave not necessarily because of the time we sat there but how we were overlooked without even being greeted. On our way out the server, Jacinda, walks towards us and asks "You all aren't eating here? You leaving?" My family responded "Yes." Jacinda in a very rude tone says "Where you going? You should've eaten here but okay, bye." The way I was feeling and the way she spoke to my family, it could have gotten real ugly for her real fast. I kept my cool and walked out. However, I couldn't rest because she was so rude. I spoke to Raul, the manager, and he was apologetic and asked us to stay. We decided not to because the environment, for us, was tainted at that point. He understood and did tell us when we come back yo ask for him so we could get the real experience. The service for this particular BBs has really gone downhill in the last couple of years. . I went there when they announced that they were now serving crawfish a week ago. First visit we ordered 3lbs and granted was expecting the crawfish to be small. What I wasn't expecting was for them to be "micro crawfish". Even the potatoes weren't cooked all the way through. I asked for a boudin link and for whatever reason they added it to the boil and came out super mushy and busted open. Our waitress was subpar, took forever with the smallest things, and then gone. We went back today thinking that we would have a better experience but really wasn't the case. The crawfish were a little bigger but not by much, some even canoe out mushy. There were a few decent size sprinkled in here and there, about 5 or 6 out of 2lbs. We ended up having the same waitress which I didn't want. Before being seated we asked to sit in a particular section but was told that they are sitting us somewhere else. We tried ordering frozen margaritas which we were told the machine was down. We asked for ice cream sandwiches for the kids and were told they didn't have but did come back with a couple after they ate. The bathrooms aren't even being kept up.The crawfish still tastes amazing but the restaurant as a whole is lacking. Hopefully they'll turnaround sooner than later. For now we're planning on going to a different BBs even if it's out of the way. I don't really like giving bad reviews but you have to when something you love goes downhill. Once they came out he took out orders and I personally got the crawfish as my main with lots of add ins and asked for very mild. As I like a little heat only. And our apps were boudin and queso. Once our food came out the server I guess never put in one of our items. Since it never came out and thankfully wasn't on our bill at the end. One of my friends got the cold shrimp with seasoning and butter on the side. My other friend got crawfish with butter and a few add ins. They both had to ask numerous times for their sides of butter and seasoning but eventually did get it. As for my food I couldn't eat it. It's like the spice was turned all the way up. I thought peeling the crawfish would help, but as for all of my add ins they were basically inedible due to the heat level. Our poor server was running around a ton so I never brought it up as it's not the servers fault since all my items did come out. So I kept it to myself, asked for a box and took everything home so I could rinse it off to be able to eat it. I'll have to come back on a day when they are less busy to give it a second try to see the comparison. Ok so this is a rough one to only give 5 stars. THE FOOD IS 5 STARS!!! Food: This is my favorite crawfish in Houston, one of my favorites in the entire world. They do pretty well here with basking them in seasoning, and the seasoning on them is absolutely freaking AAA+ amazing. Service: this is where they lose a star. I've been here 10 times or so, only because it's so close to my house. My favorite location is the one in Katy which is 5 stars across the board. The service here has at best been sub par. Slow to respond, attitudes are not one for service industry. The attitudes feel like you're at a McDonald's at 1am which is acceptable! However, springing $150 tab for crawfish and beer and expected to tip at least 20% means you better pep up and earn it. This is not some new discovery either, the managers and owners are well aware and have not made changes. If they wonder why Katy locations kicks their butts!!!! It's pretty cut and dry. I will start off by saying that I love BB and I have been going to BB for years and years. I go to this location because it's by the house. The last month, though I have gotten cold crawfish consistently. 3 separate visits. I ask every single time for them to make it fresh and they swear that that's their policy and they are made to order. They are not. They keep them in a big cooler in the back. What they don't realize is that some people have been eating crawfish for a long time and can tell, the difference. It's very frustrating and insulting when you spend money there and they continue to give you cold food. My time has probably come to an end from going to this location. Eventually he said there was no more clean forks so would we mind plastic ones. The manager came by once we got our food & said 'everything's good, right'. I asked 'how does a restaurant run out of clean forks'? He clearly had no idea. Forks showed up after we finished the meal. The young waiter tried hard but was overwhelmed. The food was just very average. Then were charged 20% gratuity. If you're going to surcharge the maximum gratuity, you need to be sure the basics are right. I had the Rue Trio: miller's red beans and rice and 2 of Maw Maw's gumbos: 1) shrimp and 2) chicken and andouille sausage. Important: all three cups tasted different!! For heartiness, go with the shrimp, the cup was loaded. My fav overall was the chicken and andouille. The rue was a rue, good blend of meat in each spoon and the flavor was spot on. My least fav was the red beans and rice simply because I was wanting a bit of sausage in nearly each bite and it was no where the case. Apparently, I got the beans that hadn't been mixed well. You can order sausage on the side, which I would recommend if you get the bowl. But, the flavor of the red beans and rice was great!! My garlic toast was even good today. The bread was soft, chewy and the toasted side was lightly crisp. It wasn't drowned in butter like some other restaurants, but I could taste the butter and garlic and the flavors were nicely balanced with the gumbo. read more

I grew up in the Cypress area, and my family was stoked to finally get a BB's on their side of town. This BB's is in the former Cypress Station Grill, and it's a fantastic spot. It's large, has a deck, loads of inside seating, and also breezy covered patio area with garage style doors that open onto that previously mentioned deck. The shining star at BB's will always be the crawfish. It's probably my favorite recipe in all of Houston. Their Tex-Cajun fries, pollo bullets, and good po-boys. And surprisingly enough, their salads are great too - try the MadHatter. This location has always presented us with great service - a GM always swing by the table to see how things are going - and the food comes out quick, which is good when we have impatient kiddos in tow. read more

I relied on trusty Yelp to find a lunch spot with my colleague after a long work meeting that spilled over to lunchtime. After filling up with gas in Cypress, we used Yelp and found a welcoming spot with outdoor patio and umbrellas. Like many Houston places, both the restaurant and food portions are huge! They specialize in Cajun cuisine, often with a Tex-Mex twist. Service was wonderful and the manager offered a free dessert coupon as we were both first-time customers. My French Quarter Plate was a legendary combo with two big pieces of grilled, smoky Andouille sausage, sandwiched between two generous scoops of high-carb red beans and rice and crawfish étouffée. Glad I was super hungry and managed to finish all of it! I would up skipping dinner on the flight back to SFO! Every item was perfectly prepared, including their hot, soft, buttery garlic bread. My coworker gave me a piece of her blackened redfish and it was also very good. I understand BB's is a chain restaurant in the Houston area and I would definitely try them again. My husband stopped here to grab takeout for dinner since it was on the way home. I had a shrimp poboy and the chicken and sausage gumbo. I'm sorry I have no pics I'm so bad with not taking pics of my takeout food but I will try to do better. The poboy you can't really go wrong with it was dressed with all the fixings. The gumbo I'm so critical here in Texas I've tried many gumbos and majority of them was horrible in my opinion so I was a little skeptical to try it. But guys it was actually good it was very good the roux was good the chicken was flavorful and the sausage was amazingly delicious . I have not found any good sausage here besides Richards which I would eat back home in Louisiana so my palate was happy. The gumbo was so good I've had it twice yes I also had it door dashed to me, that speaks volumes about the gumbo. I've read mixed reviews of this establishment but I would definitely love to visit in person to get the full experience of service and the ambiance.
