Went on a Monday night. We had 11 in our party but the restaurant was only about 20% full. Food for 4 came but we had no forks! By the time we got THREE forks, our food was cold. Eventually the remaining 7 got served ... reminded the waiter we still needed more forks. You could see him looking around so I knew something was wrong. Eventually he said there was no more clean forks so would we mind plastic ones. The manager came by once we got our food & said 'everything's good, right'. I asked 'how does a restaurant run out of clean forks'? He clearly had no idea. Forks showed up after we finished the meal. The young waiter tried hard but was overwhelmed. The food was just very average. Then were charged 20% gratuity. If you're going to surcharge the maximum gratuity, you need to be sure the basics are right. I've been to several BB's locations across the Houston area and this location set the bar for customer service! Thank you Mel for providing exceptional customer service for us today. Your ability to be personable made us feel like we'd known you for years. It was greatly appreciated. We arrived around 12:30 and were seated right away. We ordered a variety of menu items that included fried pickles, cheese dip, shrimp and grits, étouffée, and gumbo. Everything was delicious. Really like this place. Been here maybe 6-7 times and not certain why I haven't written a review yet, so here I am. I can't tell you how any of the food is beyond the shrimp and grits. So I know someone in Louisiana is going to stroke out on this comment but I hate crawfish. So much effort for such little reward. And I don't eat fried stuff, so the shrimp and grits is right up my alley. My buddy tried the fried boudan balls, I had one and they were good but fried. Just not a big fan of fried food. Service was good. Food came out quickly. They give out birthday rewards! Yay! Got some butter cake for my turning 40. Ugh I hate typing that. One thing I hate about this place, and to no fault of their own, the entrance and exit is less than desirable. They didn't make the road and the review stars don't reflect this. But needs to be said. Comfortable atmosphere - airy, lots of windows, hip New Orleans feel - and love the outside dining. I had the Rue Trio: miller's red beans and rice and 2 of Maw Maw's gumbos: 1) shrimp and 2) chicken and andouille sausage. Important: all three cups tasted different!! For heartiness, go with the shrimp, the cup was loaded. My fav overall was the chicken and andouille. The rue was a rue, good blend of meat in each spoon and the flavor was spot on. My least fav was the red beans and rice simply because I was wanting a bit of sausage in nearly each bite and it was no where the case. Apparently, I got the beans that hadn't been mixed well. You can order sausage on the side, which I would recommend if you get the bowl. But, the flavor of the red beans and rice was great!! My garlic toast was even good today. The bread was soft, chewy and the toasted side was lightly crisp. It wasn't drowned in butter like some other restaurants, but I could taste the butter and garlic and the flavors were nicely balanced with the gumbo. read more

This was my 2nd visit, as I had to return for some of their crawfish, good size and flavor! There was a bit of delay on getting our oysters, but the waiter Stryce and the manager on duty made sure to get us taken care of, which was much appreciated. Server did not come back once to check on our table, I had to get up to ask for a drink. We had to cancel our meal because of how long it was taking way over 45 minutes for a shrimp Po-Boy. I grew up in the Cypress area, and my family was stoked to finally get a BB's on their side of town. This BB's is in the former Cypress Station Grill, and it's a fantastic spot. It's large, has a deck, loads of inside seating, and also breezy covered patio area with garage style doors that open onto that previously mentioned deck. The shining star at BB's will always be the crawfish. It's probably my favorite recipe in all of Houston. Their Tex-Cajun fries, pollo bullets, and good po-boys. And surprisingly enough, their salads are great too - try the MadHatter. This location has always presented us with great service - a GM always swing by the table to see how things are going - and the food comes out quick, which is good when we have impatient kiddos in tow. read more

I relied on trusty Yelp to find a lunch spot with my colleague after a long work meeting that spilled over to lunchtime. After filling up with gas in Cypress, we used Yelp and found a welcoming spot with outdoor patio and umbrellas. Like many Houston places, both the restaurant and food portions are huge! They specialize in Cajun cuisine, often with a Tex-Mex twist. Service was wonderful and the manager offered a free dessert coupon as we were both first-time customers. My French Quarter Plate was a legendary combo with two big pieces of grilled, smoky Andouille sausage, sandwiched between two generous scoops of high-carb red beans and rice and crawfish étouffée. Glad I was super hungry and managed to finish all of it! I would up skipping dinner on the flight back to SFO! Every item was perfectly prepared, including their hot, soft, buttery garlic bread. My coworker gave me a piece of her blackened redfish and it was also very good. I understand BB's is a chain restaurant in the Houston area and I would definitely try them again. My husband stopped here to grab takeout for dinner since it was on the way home. I had a shrimp poboy and the chicken and sausage gumbo. I'm sorry I have no pics I'm so bad with not taking pics of my takeout food but I will try to do better. The poboy you can't really go wrong with it was dressed with all the fixings. The gumbo I'm so critical here in Texas I've tried many gumbos and majority of them was horrible in my opinion so I was a little skeptical to try it. But guys it was actually good it was very good the roux was good the chicken was flavorful and the sausage was amazingly delicious . I have not found any good sausage here besides Richards which I would eat back home in Louisiana so my palate was happy. The gumbo was so good I've had it twice yes I also had it door dashed to me, that speaks volumes about the gumbo. I've read mixed reviews of this establishment but I would definitely love to visit in person to get the full experience of service and the ambiance. We've been here a couple of times before, but never during crawfish season. So today was my first crawfish of the season and the first time here at bb's. It was awesome. They don't have like a garlic butter they have a dry Louisiana rub and then they have BB's Orleans seasoning. That's the one I chose and it was good. Nice and spicy good-sized crawfish considering it so early. A lot of people in the restaurant eating crawfish so I imagine this is a good spot to come. I easily got two pounds in and wanted a third, but DH is not a crawfish eater, nor a slow eater, so about one pound in of my meal, he was done and looking bored. This is why I try to eat crawfish alone. Back to BB's. Our server was great, brought everything we asked for, so I appreciate that. Loved the zydeco music and outdoor patio area. If smoking wasn't allowed out there , I would have loved to eaten outside. Overall a great experience, best first day of crawfish for me in a few seasons. read more

Tender steak tips in sauce. Probably one of my top 3 favorite meals ever. I also got half pobot shrimp. It was okay. The real winner was the beef tips an grits. So much flavor and extremely tender. The location is huge. This is my second visit to any B.B.'s location first visit was about ten years ago off Montrose. They have expanded all over town. The beef tips and gravy will be a dish that get from here for years to come. In fact if you are reading this go try this fish! Do it! We got our first crawfish of the season as a to go order, and they were absolutely terrible. Most of them were not even edible they were so mushy. They also forgot my dipping sauce that I ordered. I understand that crawfish are expensive this year, but I would suggest saving your money. We used to like BBs, but I am not sure that I will go back after this experience. read more

I was over all very satisfied and impressed. The pollo bullets could have had more jalapeños in them because they weren't really noticeable but otherwise the flavor was good and I really enjoyed the south Texas fire. I really love this restaurant! It's family oriented, fun, and full of excitement! The food is always good and hot when served! I've never had a problem with them until today. The service was extremely slow. My husband, my daughter, and I, waited for over 30 minutes before we were waited on. However, the manager noticed that we had been waiting for awhile and asked if anyone had helped us yet. We told her no and that we have been waiting for quite some time; she immediately apologized and took our drink and appetizer order and sent a waitress to wait on us. Morgan was our waitress and she was very friendly and welcoming. All in all the dining experience was not so pleasant this go round. As the hostess led us to our table, you could literally see food and crumbs underneath the table on the floor from the last guests that were seated there previously. Our chairs were also wet from the sanitizer that the hostess used to clean the chairs and tables and we had to dry the chairs ourselves with napkins from the table. I don't know if we will be back anytime soon and not because the food isn't good because it's absolutely delicious. However, I don't react well to eating in an unclean space. I have a tendency to think that if you seat me an area that's not clean then the kitchen where the food is being prepared is also unclean. Presentation matters immensely! read more

My husband and I have been to this location several times since discovering it about two years ago. The first few times the food was awesome. However, each time we've gone lately the service, food and even the ambiance was degraded. Upon our recent visit, we were served several large clumps of fried batter on a po boy in lieu of shrimp. It took nearly 20 mins to get replacement shrimp and by this time our food was extremely cold. Our server was great...she was apologetic for the issue and even tried to make it right. I felt I was very understanding as things sometimes just happen, no big deal. Unfortunately, the manager on duty at that time was awful. She never came to our table to apologize for the mix up and when she did come over it was to assist our server to ensure she ordered the correct replacement shrimp. This female manager/lead never gave any sort of acknowledgment towards us or our issue and she was standing right besides me at our table....I was waiting for some type of apology, gesture or offer of resolve from her but nope, NOTHING not even hello. Needless to say we will not patronize this restaurant chain again as there are entirely too many Cajun/Creole/NOLA restaurants in a decent radius to settle for such awful none acknowledge behavior from the manager or team lead...or whatever role the fluffy blonde holds. Oh yes, on a previous visit several months ago there was a huge cockroach roaming around the diner. I was terrified as I have a cockroach phobia and yet we came to this same location again in an effort to allow them to redeem themselves....oh well just be warned your shrimp or oyster po boy could have huge unhealthy unflattering chunks of fried batter instead of what you paid for. read more

We've always driven by, but never tried because the lot is typically packed. We decided to stop in seeing the lot was empty. It was a bit confusing walking in. We had walked in the back door where to go and door dash I think come in. A tall male server saw us looking over a menu looking around for a bit and didn't offer to assist. The friendly hostess must have spotted us and walked back to show us where the main entry and hostess stand was. We were immediately seated and greeted by our waitress. We ordered gumbo, raw oysters, cheeseburger, snow crab, & cold shrimp. The food was tasty, but did take a bit to come out with it being so empty inside. I asked for crab crackers or scissors because I was unable to break the crab claw & cut my finger trying. I guess they don't have any? My waitress was kind enough to track down probably the only pair of scissors in existence in the building, but they definitely were not intended for food. Props to her for going the extra mile though. The oysters were large and cold, shrimp cooked perfectly, gumbo roux was good. We will come back, but definitely only when the place looks empty because I can't imagine the wait when it's busy. I would recommend placing a sign in the back to redirect guests who have never been and do not know where main entrance is. read more

Cypress one is not worth the money . I've ate at the ones in the heights and gulf freeway and they were amazing . But the CYPRESS location is Poot service and food is not good . I even went a second time a year later just to give it one more try, my mistake because apparently not enough complaints at this location. Don't know how they stay in business . read more

We are always looking for a place that serves crab legs and we found one close enough to where we will visit it often when we need our crab leg fix. Of course BB's serves more than just crab legs, the Po'Boys have yet to disappoint me. We really enjoyed the Cajun Emenadas and almost ordered another plate. Our server, Quincy, was extremely friendly, professional and patient, since we kept asking him each time he returned to our table to bring another item. We will be repeat customers. read more

Last night, 3/28/24 was my worst experience ever at BB's. They were significantly under staffed. Our waiter had at least 7 tables, two of which were 6 tops. It took 20 minutes to get two dressed Dos Equis, and maybe 40 mins to get two Bloody Mary's. Another 40 mins to get 5lbs of crawfish and burger with fries. Burger wasn't good and fries were cold. We were told we'd get replacement fries and never received them. I ordered a second 5lbs of crawfish when we had eaten 1/4 of the first. We finished the first and waited another 40 mins when I finally asked the manager to get our check and we would skip the second order. I explained our frustration, and how bad the service was. He said he'd get the check. He didn't apologize, he was resigned to the bad service and didn't seem to care. When the server came back he apologized and said the manager reduced out bill. Upon inspection, the manager didn't charge us for the crawfish that we never received. Wow how generous. The crawfish were great, but not worth the bad experience. read more
