Stopped by by accident really. The sign caught my eye and so I gave it a whirl. Decor matched the name as it was like stepping into a Louisiana Cajun restaurant in NOLA. Menu was huge and ran from salads to fried seafood with a lunch menu on the back. They had Abita Purple Haze so that makes the place much more legit. lol The bisque caught my eye as we all know I am sucker for a good bisque. It didn't disappoint. It was delicious and lots of delicious mudbugs. Wasn't really hungry enough for a platter of mudbugs so just tried the ceviche. To be honest I didn't remember what it was. Well it was larger than I expected and so I was unable to finish it. It was full of seafood. The sauce could have used some horseradish. All and all a good find. We pass by the area and always see the yellow crawfish flags when we go to Houston so we finally decided to stop. NGL we weren't expecting much. Once we ordered our drinks which were good, same for the zucchini. Crawfish had the perfect flavor. Our waitress was friendly and attentive so that's always nice. When we went it wasn't busy. The dessert the cheesecake was good. We were told to get the bread pudding but we wanted chocolate cake. Even though it looked delicious it unfortunately was not. It only took one bite to realize it wasn't good. Husband said it had freezer burn. I took a small bite and it was hard. The flavor was like eating dirt it left this taste like when you open a fridge that's been closed for years and you get that smell from not being used and you can even taste it, it was like that. But hey 1 thing out of all the rest which was great won't keep us away. Maybe next time we will get the pudding LMFAO! read more

We always have a good time and good meal at Floyd's. Our favorite appetizer is the Grilled Parmesan Oysters, which we enjoyed while watching some Astros. For dinner I had grilled shrimp with some delicious fried Okra. My son had a burger which was advertised as a smash burger but it was very thick. Still yummy but we were like "Do they know what a smash burger is?". My husband had the Crab Stuffed Texas Redfish. He said it was pretty good but the cornbread was pretty dry. I pass by Floyds daily. About once a week, I tell myself I should find some time to check them out. Well, I finally did! I ordered takeout for a girls brunch. The online ordering process was decently simple, but retrieving my order was a little bumpy. It's possible the hostess was new, or I came between shifts, but there was very little coverage. While the hostess retrieved my order, I watched atleast 3 families walk in, and meander in confusion without any clear guidance or hostess to greet them. The young lady across from me was apparently on break. She did not step in or alert anyone of the lack of coverage, she watched as well haha. The food was great, but the portions and take out procedure could be improved. Would I return? Yes, but only because of those catfish bites! read more

You know I'm amazed at the number of stars that are currently under Floyd's (at the time I'm writing this review 3/7/25). Just 3 stars?! With just 3 stars then it's clear that there are those that have zero idea on how to make your Floyd's experience a 5 star visit like mine. So here it goes. First, always sit at the bar. I don't know what it is but the bartenders at Floyd's give the best service experience versus the wait staff. There are bartenders there who have actually been with Floyd's even before it was Floyd's. How so? Because before Floyd's, it was Lucky's Pub and the bartenders that they kept have that passion for that location. Which means as I always say, you cannot train passion. Second, the a-la-cart deals are the better options. They have some very good shrimp and fish at Floyd's and you can order them a-la-cart. For me I usually get 12 fried shrimp and 2 catfish fillets. I don't get any sides. Not needed for me. I'm always satisfied with that option. Always perfect everytime and I'm a seafood lover by heart so I take my shrimpy's seriously. (Crossing my arms and standing like the Terminator) Third, the Hurricane. You must at always order their standard hurricane. It's hands down the best hurricane you can find in Houston. Period. Just make sure it's made by the same old school bartenders who have been there for years. It's consistent and the very best you can get. Forth and final; crawfish. If it's crawfish season always order those babies extra spicy. Now for the none spicy heads it's not really that spicy but it is more seasoning. And even better now as they have a new flavor that is absolutely Sucking Good! I'm specifically talking about that Eddie D Sauced version. The waitstaff was great, but the food was less than satisfactory. The cornbread was burnt and dried out. The red fish was thin and overcooked, but the pontchartrain was delicious. My catfish was ok but the hush puppies, stuffed crab and stuffed shrimp were over cooked and the fries were greasy. Obviously the cook was not on top of things to burn and overcook nearly everything we ordered. We have been there for lunch and it was great hence why we went back. Not again. read more

I thought it would be better at the bar, I don't know why my fries look so much worse than the other two people. They got theirs on a separate plate. Maybe it was a basket. It's crawfish season and Floyd's is giving exactly what you need. The crawfish is seasoned so good and those boudin balls freshly made and fried to perfection. The oysters were good i love how you get the option of getting a combo to try two different ones- i loved the Rockefeller oysters the most. And i just had to end the night with dessert and that caramel pecan cheesecake was so good i love how the pecans were crushed so it wouldn't be to overwhelming, the service was great my server gave great recommendations and was very attentive and the staff showed team work as other server and staff helped us if needed. Well I'm officially a regular here. Five visits and not even gonna lie... I'm not even close to done with it! I'll start this with the second trip. Fried alligator..... yea buddy! I haven't had any in decades, seriously decades! And it was tha best sweet, tender and not over fried. I also had the fried zucchini and it was perfect as well! Very lightly breaded so you could actually see AND taste it, which to me is a plus. #3 Drug my bestie along on this trip and got to sit inside to get a feel of the place. They can accommodate large parties with no problems. And the bar area is big as well, with tvs so you can watch the game while you get your drink on. And now to the food portion: Chicken. Fried. Steak!!!!!! Ok now I'm from Texas and any of y'all that are from here knows, don't mess with Texas and don't play with our CFS. Floyd's NAILED IT the meat was juicy and not over thick, the crust was absolutely perfect and the gravy..... O.M.G! I'm fixin to be real glad my momma isn't on here cause.... it's wayyyy better than hers.... yep I said it and so did my bestie. They aced mashed taters too! #4 round two with that wedge salad! Still can't get over how big that thing is. They are birthed from a head of lettuce that's the size of a soccer ball. And giant order of sweet potato fries. Went into a food coma shortly after finishing every single bite of all of it by myself. #5 Went light on this one because it was pretty late. Red beans and rice and house salad. Can't really mess that up unless it's watery, it was not. It did have some nice slices of some spicy sausage in there that was an awesome surprise, it was a surprise cause I didn't read the description. Now here's where I have a problem... that bread sittin there on the plate. That's garlic bread, don't get me wrong now it was good, but it doesn't belong with RB&R now does it? Mmmmhmmmm that's what I said too! So I asked KK for some, say it with me now "cornbread" and she said y'all ready...." they don't have it " ummmm what!? We had a late lunch at Floyd's seafood. The food was good and plentiful and we had very fast service. I had the 3 piece stuffed shrimp with stuffed potato and my husband had Floyd's seafood platter, he subbed the oysters and they gave him two extra shrimp. He does not eat oysters. Since it was 4pm on a Tuesday, it was empty but the servers were still very responsive and quick. They were gearing up for happy hour which is a good thing. I recommend this place. We had a full tray of leftovers which my husband will definitely eat later. read more

Floyd's Cajun is a great place to get cooked oysters they have a range of special oysters that are covered with pico and cheese that is cooked and served still cooking when you get them. it was our first time eating there and we ordered food to-go and make sure you check your order. my mom went to pick it up and her whole entree was missing from the order and then when they brought it out it was the wrong thing. I ordered a shrimp and crab cocktail and they had just given her boiled shrimp with cocktail sauce to dip in... not the same thing. so she has to complain to get the right thing and they said they had "ceviche" and she accepted their offer for that and when she got home it was the shrimp cocktail she originally was expecting. I'm not sure if they don't know the difference between a shrimp cocktail and ceviche but that was annoying. I ordered the lunch special fried crab cakes and fries which was good (great portion for the price and was yummy) but they didn't give me any remoulade or anything to eat my crab cakes with and then there was crab shells in my crab cake. I had to spit out like 5+ times on ONE crab cake. we also ordered the crab bisque which was DELICIOUS but also had crab shells in it. maybe eating there will be a better experience. read more

I am going to preface my review witht the fact I am not a fan of Seafood. That being said our trip here we got a pretty wide variety of items. We had crawfish, we had boudin, we had shrimp, we had burgers, we had aligator, we had burgers. I will say we all left very happy. For my part I avoided the the fish and honestly wasn't too sure aobut the burger I ordered. It was a surprsise when it was asoutndingly good. The seafood along with the chicken/sausage gumbo is on point even, more so with a dash of their hot sauce. We always find the atmosphere friendly. And welcoming. Kendra was the best server, even though she knew my experience wasn't the best, and she made sure her manager knew what was happening throughout my whole experience. I knew it wasn't her fault and I made sure she was well tipped to reflect that. It started with the green fried tomatoes. Deep fried in corn meal and not flour so the batter just slid right off. You get three slices and a whole lot of corn mush for 9.99. Rip off. I ordered blackened flounder. It came looking red and didn't taste like blackened at all. Thank god for tartar sauce and lemon because it helped with the fishy taste. Fresh fish should never taste fishy. But this already had two strikes against it. The third strike was my bill and the fact that the manager never came to address any issues with me. So I paid the $34.61 for my lousy meal and told Kendra how disappointed I was and how I found it interesting that she told me I wasn't the first customer remarking about the lack of fresh fish and the so called blackened seasoning that honestly was more like crawfish seasoning. I was so disappointed because I love Floyd's in Sugarland. They never disappoint. So I tried this one. If I may make a suggestion if you want fresh fish, perfect seasoning, and fantastic green fried tomatoes, where you get a basket full for $9.99, go to Bluewater Seafood! I made a return vist to Floyd's after another medical appointment for my elderly mother, and DeJa Vu-- the lovely Kendra was our waitperson again! Needless to say, the service was excellent as Kendra is a top notch server (as well as being easy on the eyes). We ordered the same things from the last visit Fried Alligator, Fried Catfish bites, Fried Zucchini, and Fried Avocado Salad. I can report that the food at Floyd's is consistently outstanding! We needed a place to top on our drive from Fort Worth To Galveston. This place was super easy off Hwy6. I took on a 3.5 star average and was super pleased! Sara, our waitress was fantastic!she was so happy and friendly. The food was amazing! We had oysters on the half shell. They were cleaned well and tasted amazing. Floyd's was really good, we were looking for a new seafood spot since papadeauxs was so packed!!! When i checked in on yelp we got free onion rings, so that was exciting and they were good. We got the fondue which was 10/10, Shrimp etoufee 10/10 just really big! We also got the small gumbo, my boyfriend stated it was good and that's awesome because he is from new orleans and very picky when it comes to gumbo. He didn't care tooo much for the shrimp po boy...the shrimp was deep fried in some batter that looked like popcorn shrimp but he still ate it lol The place is real laid back and the service was amazing. read more
