Am only giving two stars because Johnny stepped up and fix the work Mary did! Mary was absolutely rude- unprofessional- and did a lousy job! It was disheartening to say the least! If I go back it will because of Johnny- will ask for him! Will not have Mary do my nails ever again! I really like the atmosphere and the employees. Heres the problem...they have zero respect for a repeat customer and your appt time. Last appt I waited 45 mins past for them to begin. Today...Im at 40 mins & still waiting. I talked to them about it & requested they put me in a time slot convenient for them so that I would be taken on time. They are always understaffed. The ONLY reason I'm giving this place 1 star is because it won't allow me to give ZERO!! It has taken me a couple of weeks to write this because they pissed me off. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! A friend and I went in for a mani/pedi and I wish I hadn't ever gone.I have been wearing gel on my nails for the last 5 or 6 years and I know it usually costs a little bit more than a regular manicure but then they tried to upsell me some other kind of gel called Bio-gel or something like that. I can't stand the upsells. There was what looked to be a younger guy that sat down to do my hands while a girl did my feet. For what they charged me, they should have done a helluva lot more than they did. The pedicure was so bad that I had to get another less than ONE WEEK later!! She barely cut my toenails and the way she cut them ended up with my having ingrown nails. She barely filed them and she ended up using some polish that had to be filed off b/c it didn't come off with just a swipe of polish remover. Now, my hands. The guy that started on my nails had taken out the electric drill to get the gel off and I told him that I don't like that being used on my nails bc it makes them thin and they break within a couple of days of having it done. He looks at me, then gives a heavy sigh like he's annoyed before trying again and again I say no so he puts it down and find a file. I ask him if we have a problem and he waits a minute before saying no. This is NOT a pleasant experience at all! Once he gets the polish off he starts filing and is doing it so fast that he tears the skin under my nail to a opint it's bleeding. I yell, pull my hand back, he grabs it and looks at it and says "It's just a little bit." I look at him like he's crazy b/c of what he said so he says sorry. He gets up and walks away. 5 miutes later, someone else sits down and starts working on me. I tell him, that my thumb nail is torn a tiny bit at the corner (I had already mentioned this to the 1st guy), and I ask him if he can put a tiny bit of glue and a little powder on it b/c that always works. I explain it to him three times b/c I see he's getting a bunch of stuff ready like it's a big task. So the last time I tell him exactly what I'm talking about, he says "Me know what to do, let me do it." As he proceeds to cover half of my nail in a thick powder, exactly what I did NOT want him to do. It's done all the time, it's not hard to do if you just listen. It usually takes someone 10 seconds, he was trying to reconstruct half the damn nail. I'm ready to just be done and get the hell out. The girl doing my toes is long done b/c she barely did anything. So, he finally finishes my nails, we pay, and I leave. No one cared that I wasn't happy with their work. Now, remember, I had a gel manicure done. I typically go 2-3 weeks with gel. WHY DID IT START PEELING 4 DAYS LATER?!?!?!?!?! I was busy so I wasn't able to get in to another shop to get them re-done for about 8 days, they were gross!! This was ridiculous!! I will never retuirn here again. I figured I would try it out b/c it's 1/2 mile from my house which means convenience. No thanks, not worth it. read more

I went there only because my manicurist moved there. The only good part was her and now that she's left I will never go back. Twice I had my adult daughter also get her nails done while I was getting my nails done. Both times the manicurists that did my daughter's nails were rude and didn't seem to care about the job they were doing. I have been having my daughter get her nails done with me from time to time for over 20 years and everywhere we are they are always polite and friendly. Not at BCBC. Last week she went in to get her gel polish off and the manicurist was rude to her and you should see what her nails looked like when she came home. The worst nail salon ever! We spent $125 on to manicures that should have been $50! Every employee was lazy and tried to up sell us on every service. The nail technicians also would not stop until we agreed to their offer. The next day my nails turned black and had to be taken off, which then destroyed my nails! I went here yesterday expecting a relaxing experience. It was SO rushed and extremely unprofessional. My nails were a great shape but the man started filing.. and filing and filing and filing and would not stop. The nails on my right hand are sort of a "top of a stop sign" shape, while my left hand are oval but extremely pointy. Also have a few cuts on my toes and still have dried skin on the bottom of my feet. I am from out of state- here on vacation. Wanted to feel pampered. Definitely was not pampered. The younger gentleman had an appointment and the lady doing my pedicure was apparently supposed to help him. The client asked if she was going to be working on me for awhile and the younger man says "no we don't like her.. no no no". I barely spoke so I'm not sure how or why he came to that conclusion. Went today to get a bio-gel manicure and reg pedi. Got sooooo lucky to get John to do my nails. He's an artist and can do ANY nail art that you want him to. Find a pic, show it to him and voila!! I opted for hedgehogs today....mine are even cuter than the ones i found online for him to copy. He will design for you too if you like. Ask him to show you the ones in his phone that he's done. So amazing. It's really hard to find someone in this area that can do nail art like him - so happy! The shop is new and clean and also in a center with a health food market and a few restaurants too so bonus you can eat after if you're starving..like I was. All the other employees were also friendly and the chairs are comfy. I've been to most of the nail salons around here, and i've had bad experiences at some of the well-established popular ones...so i'm super happy to have this new salon in the neighborhood. Can't wait for the holidays so I can do Halloween and Christmas nails. It's the little things in life isn't it? read more

I agree with most helpers. They put me in a chair for a pedicure and by the time the guy came to do me 30mins later the water was ice cold. They tell people yes we can take you sit down and then you are waiting over 30mins. I watched people leave upset. They try to get you in the door and then expect you to wait. Eventually someone put my feet in cold water and let me sit there for 20 minutes. When I asked how much longer it would be no one responded. Kelly was great. She took her time and did a PERFECT pedicure. I brought in 2 12 year old girls and the elderly lady there that did one of my girls pedi was done within 15 minutes. We all started at the same time but the older lady felt that one of my girls didn't need her cuticles cut. She said she was too young. If that's the case then neither one should of had them done. The older lady in there was extremely defensive and rude. Jason the owner came over to try and make it better but the situation was already over. He was very sweet but the older lady should be fired. I have followed Jason for years know from Calabasas to Agoura now Westlake. He is the best nail artist in the area. I am very particular about my nails, the shape, the quality of application and design , and I think his work is phenomenal. Gels would easily last three weeks but I get them done every two weeks as part of my maintenance. The best part is that his care lets me grow my natural nails VERY long - most people think I have tips, but they are my nails. This new shop is modern, clean and quiet, and is another great BCBC option. The best part is the selection- wonderful color and glitter choices. Also, they are very good at matching a gel polish to an OPI or Essie toe color. For pedicures, I really like the new girl Amy - she did a very detailed job, and got my toe nail shape perfectly square, which is my preference. I was having a problem with ingrown nails, and after seeing her, I have not had an issue since. I would and do send my most discerning clients and friends to this location. Tools are not sanitized, manicurist didn't remove all cuticles, she cut me and didn't try to stop the bleeding, and she painted all over the skin of my nails. Those in the reviews below that say they don't soak your nails was not the case when I went there last week for a manicure. My nails were soaked in warm water. I got Kathy - she is hard to understand but overall she did a very thorough job on me. She saw how bad my nails were peeling (and they were very short) and my cuticles were somewhat bad so she offered the hot oil manicure. I asked how much it was and it was an extra $10 so I went for it. It felt very good and she gave me a really good massage with it all. I also got a dark color (regular polish) on my short nails and she didn't make a fuss about it, she did a good job and cleaned them up around the edges as well. The only thing I didn't like was she cuts too much cuticle off around the bottom of the nail, which you're not supposed to do because it can damage your nail growth and nail bed, but I didn't say anything.
