Came on a weekend evening for dinner. Was planning to have sushi but the wait was absurd so electronically put our names down for this spot instead. We had a large party of 8 and were seated in about 40 minutes. They can accommodate larger parties and we sat very comfortably. Our server was super cool and the service overall is excellent. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The food comes out very quickly. Each combo dinner order included a by fried fish about the size of a small hand. The small dishes were great. I especially loved the Kim chi, not too spicy and perfectly flavored. They have a refill cart if you need more, they will happily bring more.

The tofu soup was excellent. They offer various levels of spice, I ordered medium and it barely spicy and perfect for me. The chapchae noodles were very good. The bibimpap was good as well. And of course you can't go wrong with the...

happily bring more. The tofu soup was excellent. They offer various levels of spice, I ordered medium and it barely spicy and perfect for me. The chapchae noodles were very good. The bibimpap was good as well. And of course you can't go wrong with the meats, we ordered the LA galbi combo (shortrib) and bulgogi combo (sliced pieces of tube yet beef). Both were good. The galbi was perfectly seasoned. I love the burnt rice at the bottom of the stone pots. Make sure to scrape those out and not waste them! Overall great meal. Was so full and satisfied. Will definitely be regularly coming back!

BCD Tofu House is always crowded, and this location is no exception. We waited more than an hour in line for a party of seven, and it was worth the wait. I tried their hot stone bibimbap. It was sizzling hot and had my favorite crispy bits of rice at the bottom. Together with the vegetables, protein, and gochujang, the dish itself was more than enough for me and ended up being a part of the next day's leftovers.

I always enjoy their banchan, especially their small fried fish that comes along with it.

This place was packed for a Monday night! Arrived around 9 PM and had to join a waitlist before being seated about 20 minutes later. The food was delicious and certainly a good bang for your buck. It was $18 for sundubu + rice + infinite banchan. I was so surprised when the server brought over a whole fried fish! I'll certainly be back (but join the waitlist in advance next time) !!

We ordered stone bibimbap Amazing flavors if you use the gochuchang sauce they give on side It's extremely busy and so you need to make sure you have checked in on yelp for your party. Minimum wait is 30-40 min on weekends it can go upto 80-90 minutes

Even though it happened ages ago, I still remember the first time I ever visited a BCD Tofu House. At the same time, considering how it came at 3am after a night out in K-Town some significantly less than sober friends, it's not a whole lot either. In all, I remember that the place was packed, we were spread out across three or four tables, and that, most importantly, the food was great! Now that I've been back a few times all of these years later, albeit to an entirely different location, it's just as comforting as it is awesome to know that the food is just as good as I remember...and that it wasn't because of all of the alcohol we had! Located in the ridiculously busy Diamond Jamboree complex, this BCD is super convenient...assuming you're able to snag a parking space (peak dinner hours, especially on Friday or Saturday nights, are the worst). The restaurant is large, there are plenty of places to sit and/or walk around at while you wait, and the line moves pretty fast. More importantly, the menu is so good! As you'd expect, given BCD Tofu's popularity, they have plenty of tofu soup options to choose from, but they also have BBQ meat plates and entrees that you can a la carte or as a combo with your soup, apps, like fried mandu, japchae, fried tofu, and seafood pancake, bibimbap, dolsot bibimbap, and even marinated crab. In short, nothing crazy unique, but still plenty of things to get! -- HAEMUL PAJEON (Seafood Pancake) with Squid, Shrimp, Mussel, and Green Onion We've ordered this three times with mostly good results. The first and third we had this, it was pretty good - crispy and decently filled. The second time, though, which I assume was an outlier, it was pale, oily, and barely crispy, presumably from not being cooked long enough. -- SPICY RAW CRAB My first time having marinated raw crab. Aside from one of the crabs still having some fishing wire tangled around its leg, this was pretty solid. The crabs tasted really fresh and I liked how the marinade had a slight kick to it. -- ATKA MACKEREL Pretty decent, though, I've definitely had better. While I was impressed with how large the mackerel was, for whatever reason, this one had a lot of bones left in it compared to others I've had. Still, the fish was flavorful and meaty. -- ASSORTED TOFU SOUP - Beef, Shrimp, and Clam (Mild) Of the three types of soup I've tried, this was my favorite. Not only was there a good amount of beef, seafood, and tofu, but the flavors complemented each other so well. That said, their "mild" was a bit too "mild" for me. -- SEAFOOD TOFU SOUP - Shrimp, Clam, and Mussel Meat (Mild) Not quite as good as the Assorted Tofu Soup, but not that far behind either. The chunks of mussels were surprisingly large and gave this a different sort of meatiness than the beef. This also felt a little mild as well, but I did like the overall seafood flavor. -- HAM & SAUSAGE TOFU SOUP - Ham, Sausage, and Cheese (Medium) Ehh...not bad for what it is, but easily my least favorite. While I liked how they didn't skimp on the sausage or ham/Spam, the two also made this taste rather salty. Also, I didn't taste any cheese either, but at least the spice level was much better. -- ASSORTED TOFU SOUP - Beef, Shrimp, and Clam (Medium) This was just as good as the one I had before and even seemed to have a lot more tofu in it, too. Between that and how the spice level tasted so much better, this was nearly perfect! -- LA GALBI - BBQ Short Ribs To be honest, I wasn't really sure what to expect with this, but it turned out to be so good! The cuts are thick and meaty, not overly fatty, and were just straight up delicious. I'm sure there are better out there, but this is one of the best I've had in a while. Beyond the food, the service here is pretty solid as well. Not only are all of the servers generally friendly, but I like how they will come around refill banchan dishes unprompted. The kitchen gets orders out pretty quickly, too, which, combined how efficient the workers are, helps them turn over tables so quickly and churn through the line. Interesting enough, if I had based this on that second visit alone, this would probably be closer to a two and a half star review. However, given how swimmingly the rest of them have gone, it ended up being pretty easy to give four star reviews. Couple that with how ridiculously late they stay open (not 24/7 like how their K-Town locations used to be, but 3am is still more than enough), I'll definitely be back at some point or another!

Seafood Pancake, Seafood Soon Tofu, & Assorted Soon Tofu

BCD Tofu House honestly never disappoints. My friends and I have made so many little road trips here just to get Korean food, and it's always worth it every time. The servers are so nice and attentive. They're always checking in on the tables and making sure everything is taken care of, whether it's refilling water or bringing more banchan without us even having to ask. The service feels really thoughtful and welcoming, especially when the restaurant gets busy. Their banchan are seriously so good, especially the cucumber and fish cakes, which are always my favorites out of all the side dishes. I could honestly keep eating refills of those alone. We got the seafood and assorted tofu soups along with the seafood pancake as an appetizer. This was actually my first time trying their seafood pancake, and it was delicious. It came out crispy on the outside while still soft inside, packed with seafood and flavor, and honestly was enough to feed about four people. The tofu soup was perfect too. It came out still bubbling hot, but once it cooled down a little it was so comforting and flavorful. It's the type of meal that genuinely feels like it heals your soul after a long day. I think this is definitely going to be one of the things I miss most when I leave SoCal, those random road trips with friends just to get good food. I also love the location because after eating, we always end up walking around Diamond Jamboree after to digest and hang out a little longer.

First time at this location. We went at an odd time, around 3pm on a Monday so it wasn't crowded at all. Fairly large space with a lot of tables. We were seated right away and our food came out fairly quickly. We ordered the veggie soon tofu and the kalbi combo with the kimchi soon tofu. The soon tofu that comes with the combo is a little smaller. The kalbi portion was a good size, so we were able to share it amongst two people. Everything was really tasty. The kalbi was well seasoned and was pretty tender. Service was pretty average. We were able to get more side dishes when we ran out. We would definitely come back again for the food.

BCD has literally never let me down when my late night cravings hit. It was such a great staple when i was in college and still is. the LA galbi here is still one of the best i've had, and the soondubu is so yummy and comforting. the service at the irvine location is also great, they are always quick to refill our banchan and provide us with anything else that we need (scissors for cutting the meat, etc). Ofc, the line is always super long especially at dinner time until closing but I've always found that the queue moves pretty fast and never had to wait more than 30 mins. Parking in DJ is also rough but there's always the extra parking lot next to the h-mart when the main parking lot is too packed.

Always a go to especially late at night. Perfect for after a night out, cozy comfort meal, catching up with friends or even a solo meal! Their original beef medium always has the perfect amount of spice and savory burst of flavors! It's my go to tofu soup order time and time again. Their banchan always hits and the servers double down on checking if you're low on them. They'll either swiftly fill them up or someone with a cart comes around.

When I crave for Korean tofu soup dishes, this is my go to place. Parking can be a challenge at the Diamond Jamboree location. However, service is quick and efficient. Ambience is simple and practical. You get your order timely, eat and you're out. There are a great variety of topping choices and food is delivered hot & fresh. They also have a great variety of side dishes that are refilled regularly. The little fried fish is our favorite. We had spicy pork with beef tofu soup and seafood tofu soup. Appreciate their consistency and definitely coming back!

BCD is always so busy. You will need to get here either before they open or after the lunch or dinner rush. Love getting the Galbi combo with tripe tofu stew. The server is always filling up the side dishes. The Galbi is cooked just right and usually is the first item to be finished on the table. Parking can be challenging and so it's a good idea to sign up on the waitlist and then go find parking.

My must get anytime i'm in the LA/Irvine area! They are super generous with the portions, and it is worth the price, especially if you get their combo meals. Today, I tried their hot bibimbap, side of kimchi soon dubu, and it came with rice and of course side dishes. All of that for around $27 is super worth it, and I had enough for left overs. It's usually a hit or miss with the wait times for me. Sometimes we get seated nearly immediately, sometimes we have to wait. But, time goes by fast when you're shopping at the other stores or walking around the plaza. This is a pretty big location, so plenty of seating!

Party size: 2 Ordered: - 1x japchae - 1x medium hot veggie soup Other: After paying, the employee returned the payment card with a pen and receipt on the table. On the way out, they chased us out the door, telling us to stop and pay. The man appeared to be frustrated and flustered, repeatedly asking why we would do that. (???) Once back inside, at the register, he showed us the bill for the table. My +1 returned to the table we dined at and returned with the receipt. (The tension was palpable). The man apologized profusely and informed us to double-check the bank account; making sure the transaction was not charged twice. It is rare to willingly crave BCD, to begin with. When I do visit, I am reminded why I do NOT. The whole experience was embarrassing, rude, and unnecessary. read more

I've been here twice since this place finished renovating. I always order combo #10 with the dumpling soup. The mackerel is really good once you get into the meaty areas of it. It's full of flavor, & the skin of the fish is delish as well. I used to manually pick out the bones before, but now I have realized that you can easily chew the bones (it gives a bit of crunch to the dish). The dumpling soup is pretty good. I finished it for the first time on my second visit when I decided not to eat the rice! It would be amazing if they had pork and cabbage dumplings too, but they don't. I have also ordered the galbi combo before, but unfortunately the portion size does not accurately reflect what you would generally expect for something that's $20+. The flavor is also not anything too special, it's good, but it tastes the same as galbi that you could get anywhere else. However, whenever I crave tofu, I'll come here hehe. read more

Best place to go to at midnight with your friends. My friends and I shared the spicy pork bulgogi and the galbi. It was very filling. So service is always great from the older Korean ladies that has ever helped us. Very friendly, often checks up on us. We used to go a while back but I forgot to review it till recently when we decided to go again. Seems like Prices went up, or the options are now all bulked together to streamline the meals. I'm not a fan. I don't need a full combo just want some meat! Seems like you're overspending now but still very good consistent food. What I can tell yah is don't get the fried tofu garlic dish. In previous times it's been very tastey, but now it's more of a cook garlic on the side and slap it on top of the fried garlic. Doesn't blend! read more

It is extremely difficult to just eat small/little at BCD. Originally, I was thinking to have a light lunch. But, WRONG! I ended up ordering a combo of BimBimBap and Tofu. While waiting for my order, I kept on eating the side dishes: Kimchi, Fish, Fishcake, Beansprouts, Cucumbers....Yes, the whole enchilada... & Man, they are always good and I Can't Stop! When my order came, I was already 3/4 Full. The waiter looked at me and ask if I can still eat. Are you kidding? Of course I can. BCD has really decent food with great menu choices. Good environment, friendly service, and affordable prices. One thing I noticed, the BCD Tofu restaurant in Orange County, Irvine location, is cleaner compare to other BCD locations in Los Angeles County. For the first timer, make sure you come in with empty stomach and I recommend to get the combo menu. Enjoy! read more

I came here while drunk with my girlfriend and a few other friends and lemme say BEST EXPERIENCE EVER. However, DO NOT BRING WHITE PEOPLE they will get scared of the food. But we been knew that. Anyways, me and my girlfriend shared the seafood soon tofu and that shit was SOOOOOO TASTY. Each bite I just felt at home; my insides were just so warm and comfy. I was just radiating all the love that was put into that meal. They really know how to cook there with passion and care and I would highly recommend, not only those who plan to go drunk, but to those who choose to go sober. read more

This was my go-to kbbq place in Irvine when I was at UCI! I've been told that BCD isn't very authentic Korean food, but I like it anyway because it hits the spot! I love coming back here every time I'm back in Irvine. I found BCD expensive when I was a broke college kid, but as a full blown adult, considering how much food you get, I find the pricing reasonable, especially for the tofu and entree combos. You get the best of both worlds with the combos. I'm sad that this location is no longer open 24/7. My husband (then boyfriend) and I would love coming around 9am for a weekend "brunch" lol. The hours are now 11am-2am. Come during an off-time to avoid parking problems since Diamond Jamboree gets SUPER busy. After the remodel, this location is larger and more modernized. Wait times can be long, but service is quick and food comes out quick as well! Favorites: -dumpling soondobu -galbi -hot stone bulgogi with glass noodles -chicken teriyaki -all the sides! read more

BCD is a great soondubu shop. Service here is amongst the best I've experienced and is top notch. A server with a banchan cart constantly wheels around the dining room, topping you off with as much of any banchan you want. Personally I like the fish cake a lot and the kimchi is really good too. If you're really hungry, you can go for the combo (note: it comes with a smaller size soondubu if you do), but I think the regular is plenty. Your meal comes with a fried fish to start and its flaky and crisp - a good starter with your kimchi. And you know a soondubu place has to be good if by default your rice comes in the stone pots. I got a seafood soondubu and it had oysters, clams and shrimp. The broth is very flavorful and medium is not actually that spicy. It's pleasantly spicy but not enough to make you sweat I would say. Maybe I'll opt for the spicy next time but probably not the danger... It's difficult to find parking in the plaza but well worth the wait! read more

Great food, friendly service. I go here every now and then with my girlfriend and we always get the Soon Tofu combos - my favorite being the spicy bulgogi and beef tofu soup, spicy level hot! Their spicy levels are indeed true to spice, medium still being pretty spicy for those that are sensitive. SO good though. Highly recommend! if you want go there please manage to be there 30 min in advance read more

My husband and I recently went to this place and order the bibimbap and the bulgugi lunch combo with the tofu soup and got medium spice but wasn't spicy at all. If you like spice go beyond medium. Both were very good and really big portion. The side dishes were also very good and fresh and good portion. The service was excellent and always attended our needs. Will go here again. read more

Honestly I was disappointed. I go to the one in Garden Grove once a week after work and compared to that location this was very below average food. The bulgogi wasn't bad but it wasn't good. If you have not eaten here, what are you waiting for?! I do prefer BCD over SoGongDong. One of the things that raise them to the top is the croaker that comes complimentary, and they have never burned my soup (I'm staring at you SoGongDong...). I absolutely love soft tofu soup! Food - excellent, really hits the spot every time. I really like getting the galbi combined with whatever tofu soup I'm feeling for that night. Service - gets the job done but they're usually not super friendly. Don't get me wrong I don't care that much about that for a place like this. That's because they're always packed, so I understand them wanting to just get you fed and out the door. For takeout this place becomes 5 star since you cutout the service part pretty much. The only reason they lost a star here is because if you're dining in, you have to be very on it about your place in line. Kind of feels like when you're lined up at a busy bar and the loudest people get the drinks. This isn't necessarily the severs fault but I've seen people skip the line. The part that is a bit on the set servers is it doesn't seem like they enforce the order all the time and sometimes if you just happen to be within line of sight and there's an opening they'll take you instead of someone who's been waiting before you. However. That's it's that's my only gripe. And it might not even be an issue you ever deal with. read more

If you like poor service, then come on down to BCD at Irvine! To celebrate the New Year Eve holiday, my church ministry and I came to eat here. Never having eaten here before, I have decided to be bold and eat the Spicy Korean Beef. Unfortunately, because my waiter failed to hear my order, the waiter accidentally brought me the wrong order. The waiter seemed irritated when I told him so. Since the restaurant was incredibly busy, I understood that it would take a long time for us to get our meal; so, I waited patiently for thirty minutes. Sadly, when I learned that I would have to wait again for the right meal, my patience began to be thinner than standard computer printing paper. Not only was the whole "waiting game" [which lasted longer than an hour] annoying, but I was severely embarrassed due to the fact that my friends had already finished their meal by the time I got my Spicy Korean Beef. Understandably, in order to keep my friends from waiting, I had to eat my meal at home. Highlighting the poor service, my friends encouraged me to ask if I could get my meal for free; I was so blown away by what had occurred that I did not ask for a refund. I was convinced that I would not get one, and guess what, my assumption was proven correct. All I got was an apology and a take out box. Although the Korean beef was delicious, the extremely poor service forced me to give this restaurant a low rating. Although parking in Jamboree plaza is a nightmare, the Irvine BCD has always been my favorite location. If you enjoy authentic Korean food, I would totally recommend trying this place. The food here is amazing at an affordable price and the servers are very friendly and attentive. Despite how busy they are, the staffs always manage to provide the best service by making sure that you get all your banchan refills and also by helping you decide the perfect level of spice when you are choosing your soup. If you are unfamiliar with Korean food, I highly advise asking the servers for more details regarding the multiple spice levels offered in BCD. If you are looking for a regular go-to restaurant in Irvine that offers delicious food & excellent service at a reasonable price, then BCD should be on your next place to visit ;) Okay...and I think we all know that it's not really the language barrier that's an issue with customer services in ANY restaurants. BCD is an awesome place to dine at, I would highly recommend. The food, the ambiance of the restaurant, and the service would just perk me up all day. I live in Seattle, but since my family live in Irvine, I often visit them, and take them to BCD Irvine. I came in to visit with my mom and sister; I ordered the dumpling tofu soup and some Korean beef. The food was divine, plus we didn't even wait long for the food to arrive. The tofu soup was good, quite spicy enough and was packed with beef dumplings. The beef was really tasty and was cooked perfectly to be tender and easy to chew. When it comes to the restaurant's service, it was great, really FAST! When we got there, we got our seat right away (maybe we were lucky), and they came right away to take our order and recommended us some dish that were popular. They would come and refill our drinks without being asked too. They're polite overall and customer driven. And lastly, I love how they're open 24hrs! It's a great late-night restaurant since its open.. perfect for some late cravings! read more

i'm writing to complain about this restaurant. i was having a dinner on 8/22 around 10pm. while i was eating, a huge rat suddenly fell from celling and just dropped near the customer's table. and then the worker, one guy came out with the bare hands, grabbed the rat's tail firmly, disappeared into the kitchen!! not outside of the restaurant it was inside of the restaurant!! i cannot stand with this horrible situation like this. so gross disgusted with the food, and imgine how the man make customer's food with that dirty bare hands which he just grabbed the humongous rat in the dirty restaurant. i saw the store has been opened few days ago and still running their business untill now?! like nothing happened?? this is ridiculous are you kidding me?!!! i've been visiting this restaurant with my people for years and now it's time to move on. i'm constantly telling my friends and families about this happening. quitting to comeback here yuck place to come!! never ever coming back again!! read more

As a Korean who lived in LA K-town for over 10 years, I've known and went BCD tofu house in LA area quite often. So when I went to this restaurant with my fiancee, I was pretty sure about what to expect. But I was WRONG!! The tofu soup was terrible- not much ingredient nor flavor. The side dishes were disappointing as well. The bibimbap was poorly served. I was surprised about the quality of food, since it is a franchised restaurant. I looked around and most of the customers were non-Koreans. Surprisingly, it was pretty full. The service wasn't good neither, since there were few waitresses compared to customers. I spoke to the manager (looked like a owner) about the food. I asked him if they are serving this kind of food, since most of the customers are non-Korean (who probably don't now what it's suppose to taste like). His excuse was because it was a busy night. He offered to waive my food from the bill and asked us to come back next time. I do not recommend this place. read more

I would like to leave a review on BCD tofu house in irvine about something I have experienced being there. I saw 1 customer male, with tattoos literally start harassing 2 ladies with small children while they were trying to order their meal. Than he start recording the small baby and mother start panicking and asking for help from the management of the BCD tofu house or the owner to call the security or police. Bottom line, neither owner or the manager got involved or tried to help. After food arrived this family was so scared and start leaving. They even had distance to charge them for the meal, while wait or was saying we should not charge. Food was untouched. While we are surrounded with mentally ill people, you would think business will do what it takes to help at least with calling security. Shame on this business. Never ever me or any of my friends will come and eat there. NO MORE BCD TOFU HOUSE!!! read more

I had a deeply disappointing experience at BCD Tofu House that I feel I should share to caution others. The manager, who was wearing a blue shirt, displayed an appalling level of discriminatory behavior specifically towards Chinese customers. From the moment we entered, the service we received was far from welcoming; it felt like we were burdening the staff by simply being there. Discrimination has no place in the hospitality industry, or anywhere for that matter. The manager's actions reflect poorly on the restaurant as a whole and undermine any effort put into the food or atmosphere. Even if the food had been outstanding, which it wasn't, the experience was already soured beyond redemption. I believe in supporting businesses that treat all customers equally, regardless of their background. Therefore, I cannot in good conscience recommend BCD Tofu House, and I won't be returning. read more

2.5 stars My friends told me that BCD is pretty authentic for their korean tofu. I dont know about that but I know I had better... =\ If not, then at least 100x better service! I went with a friend for the first time around 10 at night and it didn't take too long until they seated us. However, once we were seated, we were ignored ... forever! Well, after 25 minutes (which felt like 2hrs) they finally came to take our orders. Then there was another half an hour wait... I was pretty hungry but it got to a point where I was so hungry that I didn't even have the appetite to eat anymore. My friend and I were just picking at the side dishes until our tofu came. I was quite disappointed. The tofu was very bland and watery... It was a challenge to leave too cus it took forever to get the check. What a bitter night... sigh* lol. read more

While we love the ambiance and food at your place, the rude and unprofessional behavior of one of your employees, Kelly, left a bad taste in our mouth. When she took our order, she was in a hurry and rolled her eyes at us, making it apparent that she was not interested in serving us. Her attitude towards the cleaners was no different - she spoke down to them and was very racist in her tone and behavior. We strongly urge you to take action against such behavior and reconsider keeping someone like her on your team. I'll be honest BCD Tofu house has decent food. Unfortunately their food does not make up for their lousy service. I'm not saying it's always a horrible experience but out of 10 times that I've been their I would leave unhappy and irritated about 8 times. Sometimes it can take them over 20 minutes just to come by and take your order even though the restaurant is almost empty. the worst is when a friend of mine had gone their and had to wait for OVER an HOUR for tofu after ordering! That's just ridiculous. Whenever the server does come by they usually are just shy of being rude. The only plus side to this tofu house is that they are open 24 hours which is rare in Irvine. For mediocre tofu I would not recommend anyone coming here and having to deal with the horrible service. read more

Open 24/7!? That's crazy and awesome... I didn't care for the soup and just got the Galbi BBQ short ribs... it's like $20, but I thought they gave a good amount for the price and it was really good eating it at weird late hours. I really enjoyed it. I know not all Galbi taste great (and places like Nodaji in Rowland Heights give really stingy crap amount.) I don't know if it was just a good night, but it was good and very fulfilling. The service was also good for a Korean restaurant (lol) and I think even the kitchen staff were helping out and asking if everything was okay with our table. I like this place more than Kaju Tofu in Garden Grove (the servers there can be really rude) I will definitely be back, especially when everywhere else is closed. read more
