I have been with BCS since their days on Leavitt Street and will continue to do so until the end of time. I have to admit through the years I have experimented with other salons, but have never been as satisfied as I am here. I always come back and that has to say A LOT about this awesome place! They have great stylists on staff here but my number #1 is PAULINA! She is so awesome, my hair and I are in love with her. From the moment she greets you at the front desk for your appointment she is so nice and genuine. She is so dedicated to her work and focuses primarily on making sure you are happy with what you're getting done-whether it be a cut, dye, or both. I have come in here several times not really knowing what I want to do with my hair and she is extremely patient in explaining to me all the ways my hair can be styled. Even if that includes her bringing out her laptop or phone, Paulina will do everything she can to best illustrate what she is going to do to my hair. I ABSOLUTELY love that about her. What I love most about her are her great people skills. While sitting in her chair she will make genuine conversation with you not all that "uh-huh" "yeah, okay" fluff like other people. I have even brought my mom to Paulina and she has fallen in love as well! And my mom is hard to please, but she's never looked better (and younger) than after seeing Paulina. The overall salon is a great place too. Very chic and modern looking and everyone here is so friendly! They will make you feel right at home. Great first experience! Gil did a great job at retouching the ombre I had done elsewhere 6 months ago! He brought life back into my color and throughly explained what steps would be best to take to get the best result. I actually like it better than the first time around. His haircut technique is unique and added a lot of bounce to my very flat hair. Customer service was amazing! The young man at the front desk even offered to run out and feed the meter for me. BCS has to be one of the top Salon places to go to in the Chicago land area. I've been going with Jessica for awhile now, and she always leaves me walking happy with a fresh haircut. As it's hard to find a stylist for a girl, it can be difficult to for a guy myself. I trust her. Gil has been cutting my hair for close to ten years now, and although I've tried other stylist/salons, I always come back . I love it. I can come in, give a general idea of what I want, and trust Gil to make me look beyond what I could ever have expected. The atmosphere is comfortable and always professional. It can be a little pricey, but for the service provided, completely reasonable. $35 for junior $45 for senior... you mind as well pay ten bucks and go for the senior. Went for a haircut and the first thing I warned Vivian (junior) was, "No short bangs, do not give me too much layers". I walked our there with bangs I can't clip behind my ears and WAY TOO MUCH layers for my head. Even if you are 200 ft away you can notice three straight across layers and multiple layers in between those three from my back. The layers do not blend with the rest of my hair. No matter what I do you can still see 15-20 layers down my head. The service was good. I saw other stylist doing a good job with their clients. It is really just my stylist that is new at the salon and lack skills. DO NOT GET A HAIRCUT FROM HER. read more

I have super unmanageable hair. I've colored it so many times I'm surprised at the amount of hair I still have left. I am also super opposed to getting it cut. with that being said I have to say Ashley is an amazing stylist. every time I want to color my hair it's goes from one extreme to the other and it's always a funky color. she always helps me make a decision as I'm usually undecided between a few hair styles and or colors when I walk in. she lets me know what's best for my hair and I trust her to cut what needs to be cut so my hair doesn't look dead. people have said the salon is pricey but I defiantly think for the experience you get at BCS and the amount of skill everyone has, it's defiantly worth it. I live in Tinley park but I always make it down to Bridgeport because I don't trust anyone else with my hair. read more

This place is horrible. They are so rude and they just seem like they don't care. Gil was the one that gave me my horrible hair cut. He gave me an over layered mullet! He tried fixing my haircut, but he made it worse. A few months later when my hair was long enough to get a trim, I went to a different hair stylist. She confirmed to me that the hair cut Gil gave me was over layered and just did a horrible job. I will never return to this salon. They also charge too much! read more

I have been coming here for 4 years, and love it! Liz, my stylist, does a fabulous job with both color and cut, but looking at other guests' hair in the salon, it looks like all of the stylists are skilled. Prices are fair, and the shampoo room is so relaxing! The only downside is that I always have to wait when I have an appointment, and they are closed Sun-Mon-Tues, but other than that, it's a great salon! read more

I was happy with the color and cut but I didn't enjoy my experience at the salon at all. The two staff persons who worked on my hair were way too pushy with trying to sell me hair products and it made my experience at BCS uncomfortable. They also pulled my hair really hard when combing it out, even though I told them how easily it gets tangled. I was also experiencing a lot of hair loss at the time, and they tossed the huge handful of my hair that had come out onto the middle of the salon floor, where all the other customers could see, which was humiliating. read more

The place itself is nice but some of the staff seem a little inexperienced, like the colorist. Her name is Natalie and I got my hair dyed there twice. She did a a good job on my haircut but turned my hair color to an orange hue, I was trying to get back to my natural color-Medium Ash brown. So I came back again a month later because she said that it would take more than once to get it that color. Well when I went back she turned it a lovely shade of cheetoesque orange and didn't even cover my grays. I tried to go back to her to correct it twice, but both times she was too "busy" to help me out. So I went to the good old Sally Beauty Supply bought a toner and called it a day! My hair looked way better and more even, no more orange! Not worth the price, I could have went to a student and got better results. read more

I got my hair cut here about a week ago by Cray, who did a wonderful job. I'm in the process of growing out my hair, so he was able to get it to a flattering style without taking off much length. I used this Salon a month ago for a cut and color with Jessica. I have been getting my hair cut and colored for over 10 years and this was the first time i walked out satisfied with everything. Color was perfect, cut was exactly what i asked for. I don't think they are pushy with products at all. She showed me what she was using and explained how/why it worked with my hair, but it was informative and I didn't perceive it as pushy product sales at all. They talk with you while cutting your hair to make sure they do exactly what you want. I also didn't think it was overpriced. The salon is clean, the head massage you get with Shampoo is awesome and she even showed me how to curl my hair. I will go back to Jessica over and over again! Fantastic work! read more

i just left BCS and had the worst experience ever. i paid $200 for a shit ass dye job. i told the stylist not to take me platinum blonde.... guess what... im platinum blonde. i was worked on by 4 different girls even though i made an appt with 1. lastly the dye job itself is shit. the blonde is choppy at the root and now i cant even part my fuckin hair on either side. I've been a long standing customer of BCS. I typically see Paulina. Since Paulina left I've been floating back and forth between the other stylist. I've not been very satisfied with everyone else's work so I was excited to hear that Paulina was coming back in the beginning of the year for a short time. However, my interaction with her this last time left me not wanting to come back to BCS. When I saw her I was excited to see her and make a change. However, when I walked in I was immediately handed off to someone else. Paulina was so busy that for the first 30-45 minutes she failed to acknowledge me. However this is not the reason why I ended up upset at the end of the day. As she was dying my hair she had another client sit in the station next to me and she started to explain to her that she didn't want her to dye her hair anymore. That to leave it as is, and proceeded to explain in a lower tone to her that if she touched her hair, hair would look yellow and patchy like mine and proceeded to point at my hair. I couldn't believe my ears. She was using me as an example of what bad hair looked like. I made eye contact with Paulina and she gave me a surprised look, she wasn't expecting me to hear her through the sound of blow driers in the background. She didn't apologize. Mind you, my hair looked that way because she had deposited a semi-red that refused to wash out, I was a blonde prior to that and she explained that once the red faded out it would go back to blonde, and it didn't. Instead I was left with a yellow orange looking color. That was unprofessional of Paulina and uncalled for. She could have made her point without using me as an example. I felt bad for the girl because she let her walk out the door with blonde and yellow patches and told her not to touch her hair until she returned. When I tell you that this girls hair was messed up, I mean it looked really looked messed up. I would never let someone walk out of my salon looking like that. I have no confidence in her art anymore. She said it herself that she cut her hair because a client of hers in Mexico called her out about the way her hair was, severely damaged, and how she didn't have faith in her art since she couldn't take care of her own hair. It took me some time to write this because I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but I was encouraged once I found out she was coming back again in August. I don't want any one to experience the same or similar negative interaction like me. This will be the last time I ever go to BCS Salon. read more

i didn't know how long it would take me to get there, so i arrived a little early. it was pouring outside, and even though i had an umbrella i was wet and cold. i was hoping for something warm when i came in (you know, coffee, tea, a warm hello), but all i got was "have a seat". so i sat. and waited. and waited. and waited. it was 45 minutes later when someone finally came to get me; i didn't know who this person was, but i knew it wasn't the stylist i had booked an appointment with cause that was a guy, and this person was a girl. fast forward to me getting my hair colored very sloppily (much ended up on my forehead and ears) and blown dry by someone other than the person i booked the appointment . with. when my stylist finally cut my hair and he showed me the finished product, i was VERY unhappy, and i told him as much. his answer was to tell me that he could only do so much with what i gave him (i am assuming that since i gave him free range --my only restrictions were "low maintenance, short, funky-- that he meant i didn't give him much hair to work with), and that i should go and try it for a week and see what i thought. i was very upset. it's been a week. and you know what i think? i'm thinking about shaving my head. I wear a scarf or a hat when i'm not at work because i am that embarrassed about how my hair looks. people have told me to go back and get it "fixed". no way. there is no way i am going in there again. i paid full price (over $120) for a haircut and color that i am beyond disappointed with. plus i was there for over 4 hours. i had ear-length hair when i walked in. how in god's name did it take 4 hours to butcher my hair?? read more
