I stopped in to BC's for a quick dinner at the bar last night. I have done this many many times over the last 5 or 6 years. It's always been a reliable place for a good dinner and friendly service. Last night was not a pleasant experience. My friend and I waited for about 20 minutes to have our drink order taken. There were three women working in the bar area and twice they walked by and said "we'll be right with you" and walked away. The first time the waitress walked past our table and said she'd be right back, she went behind the bar and did a shot with the other bartender-and didn't come back to our table at all! The food and drink menus are seasonal and delicious. Our waiters have always been knowledgeable and quick to resolve any issue that may come up. The ambiance is open concept (you can see the kitchen) and relaxed, but also has an upscale feel (rolled cloth napkins with substantial flatware). It can be a little chilly inside so bring a sweater or jacket. We love BC's for a nice lunch or date night. The bar area is great for a more casual feel. They do not take reservations for parties with less than 5 and you have to call to make the reservation. read more

The ambiance is fantastic here. Nice seating in a cozy, tastefully decorated environment. Kitchen is open to the dining room so guests can watch them prepare food. The wood burning pizza is really good. The salads are very good here, and their dressings are house made and fantastic! They offer a big drink menu, and they make very good drinks here. Chef specialties are impressive. Service is top notch. One of my favorites, and we will continue to frequent BC's Kitchen! read more

Our most recent dining experience at BC's was very disappointing. The Mediterranean Chicken pizza crust was not good and neither was the pizza itself which lacked sauce and a good taste. The beef short rib was a good portion but the short rib presentation and taste were lacking. The short rib was served as one large hunk of meat on the plate like a meatloaf and the brown gravy lacked a wine base. It was just mediocre short rib, and lots of it. When it's on the menu, head for Russell's on Maclind, for the best short rib you'll ever have. Only thing that I've tasted that was very good at BC's are the chicken Marsala and the vegetarian lasagna. The latter was inexplicably taken off the menu! Our server Julianne is friendly. read more

We just moved to the area from Southern California, so I'm still getting use to the area and finding great spots to eat! We found BC's by just walking through the fantastic Farmers Market that is put on every weekend in the parking lot! Had lunch and our server was the best, his name is Josh and you can tell that he really loves his job! He only works the weekends, all day, and on Wednesdays, but you can guarantee that those will be the days we will be back! The food was fantastic, the burgers are great, the salmon is very tasty, as is the French Onion soup! We will definitely be back and I promise to take pics next time! read more

Depending on what you order, the food here is okay. It's nothing special and not worth the price, but it's okay. We have been here 4 times as guests of friends and on our own. The service is at best inconsistent. Sometimes is okay, sometimes you have to send out a search party to find your server. This place is all about having a pleasant ambiance. It's looks like a nice place. I honestly think people come regularly to feel chic and cool. But chic and cool don't compensate for the average food and inconsistent service at this price. If I were you, I'd consider coming to this restaurant only if somebody else is paying. read more

Our second visit here was better than the first. We finally visited a couple of weeks ago and had such a good experience that my wife wanted to have her birthday lunch here. We were in the bar both times for happy hour. We are looking forward to going back for the regular menus soon. The service was very good considering that we had a table of 8, and the bar filled up after we were there about 45 mins. The happy hour menu is diverse and we tried almost all of them. Very unprofessional, we feel like roadside diner gives better service! BC's Kitchen meals not cheap $$$ but their service and honestly worse than Diner! For "ranch" charges extra! And kid's meal come with soda or drink, they not even bother to tell us that if kid wants a root beer will be an extra $4.00!!! "Root beer not count as a kid's soda" how difficult to be honest to your customers??! Yes it's only $0.50 for ranch and $4.00 for root beer but the Principle! $10.00 kid's meal + $4.00 root bear = adult meal!! On top of it our server not even bother to tell us about kid's meal "ice cream dessert" supposed to come with it! So if shorted is OK...? Come on! Cheater and ripped off, is that your policy to not telling the customer if anything your customer asks is extra charges??? Because we did ask!! Why not tell us?!! And is that your policy to charge soda extra on kid's meal but it's OK to not give their desserts even that all written clearly on your kid's menu?!! Is this how BC's Kitchen runs? Prices are a little high for the quality, but that's expected because it's BC's. My side of fruit was delicious. Dined there last week. Was with, er, older relatives who needed to eat out of the heat. Was disheartened to see kitchen staff walking around kitchen (it's open air) with masks pulled under their noses. One of the cooks/chefs had the mask pulled all the way under his chin and was chewing. Needless to say, I won't be returning until COVID is over. read more

I used to come here several years ago when the restaurant was owned by Bill Cardwell. It was upscale with a menu to match. Nowadays? It's nothing like that. Cocktails were pretty good, but our server was super slow in bringing them- and just about slow for everything else. The food was about as good as you'd get at a mediocre bar and grill. There was nothing original, imaginative, or tasty - the food was just fine, but WAY overpriced. I watched the food come out for other tables and it looked like bad food being served in a somewhat upscale setting. We had the nachos, and the server warned us they were big. They were, and they were tasty, but the beef was dry looking, as if it sat under a food lamp for hours. They should be offering smaller portions at 2/3rds the price. I had the Chicken Marsala, and the chicken was cooked fine. The sauce was ok, and the gnocchi was pretty good. However, it wasn't better than any other I've had in St. Louis and again- way overpriced. My wife had the Cobb salad and it was more of the same. I would not recommend you come here if you're looking for anything like the "old" BC's, unless you like mediocre, overpriced food and slow service. read more

First timer- came for lunch with a friend and we were overwhelmed with the options because EVERYTHING LOOKED MAGICAL. And it was. AND IT WAS. We had the crab rangoon appetizer which was delicious and so unique. We've never had anything like it and were very happy with our decision. For the main course we couldn't decide again, so we shared the veggie sandwich and french dip. Both sandwiches were stacked with toppings and flavor. It is a tiny bit on the pricey end, but you really get a lot for what youre spending. Next time I'm in Wentzville we will definitely return! read more

Today, we went to BC's with our grandchildren. I usually get the gumbo or nachos because they are the best in the St Louis area but today I decided to try the new sausage lasagna, which they just added to the menu. It was absolutely delicious and I will definitely order it again. As usual the food did not disappoint and the service was outstanding. This establishment is well deserving of at least 1 Michelin Star. Truly. Never is there a sub par experience when dining here, regardless of what entree you order. Personally, I cannot recommend the gumbo, topped with the tobacco onions, highly enough. The cornbread it comes with is also divine, and I have NEVER liked cornbread before. Love their seasonal menus and use and promotion of other local businesses! Can't believe I haven't written a review before now. My boyfriend and I frequently get BC's takeout and have enjoyed some meals on the patio when the weather is nice. Great atmosphere on the patio for date night! Prices are a little high in my opinion but very happy to support local with more veggie options than just an impossible burger or a salad. Veggie options are somewhat limited but much better than other local places. They have a delicious veggie sandwich, pasta and pizza with veggies that change with the change of seasons. I highly recommend both the summer and winter versions I've had! Meaty options recommended by my boyfriend include the short rib and strip. All I can say is "WOW"! This restaurant runs like a well-oiled machine! Every employee seems to have a specific role, and they all do them well! Communication between the workers seems smooth and flawless. You can see the food being prepared, which is awesome. Once the food is ready, it doesn't sit for long waiting to be served. We had high hopes for this place, but found it to be mostly sizzle and no steak. Good atmosphere and friendly staff, but the food just didn't match up. Started with crab Rangoon dip, which didn't taste anything like crab Rangoon and really didn't have much flavor at all. Plum sauce was homemade but overly vinegary. We don't often say something, but this time we did and they did take it off the bill. That raised the ranking 1 star. For mains we had salmon burger which SO said also had little flavor, but was okay. I had French dip. Sandwich was also okay. Beef was dry and also lacked flavor. The au jus was super salty. The highlight, which is really sad, were the sweet potato fries. Nothing special about them, just that they at least had a little flavor. read more

BC's has a great private room for meetings, and if that isn't available they have a great little space to the left as well.

Normally I would give BC's a 5 star rating. However, they have recently made some changes to their menu that are real head scratchers. They removed the Bill's Meister burger (which was excellent), and replaced it with the angus bacon burger. The angus burger pales in comparison. I was not impressed. You can find something similar at any restaurant that serves burgers. They also removed their seasonal pasta and replaced it with lasagna. Not very innovative in my opinion. Hubby and I have been weekly patrons. We loved Bill Cardwell's menu, but see more of his dishes being removed. (Loved the Mac and cheese!) We won't be visiting as often. The menu that made this an outstanding restaurant isn't as appealing as it was in the past. read more
