I emailed for an inquiry and it was a few days later that Jim called to give me more information. He was very through and answered the questions I had. The appointment was set for a week out. I've got two elder pets that each have special needs. Dr. Attas and Elena (Hope I got that right) gave a call when they were 25 minutes away and showed up ready to go. They brought in a couple of bags and cases along with a small scale. Both ladies were friendly and made the experience enjoyable. After entering Dr. Attas went through her questionnaire about both animals. They started with my dog and it was interesting to see the blood drawn as I've never seen before. One of the benefits for this vet is they work directly with Blue Pearl Hospital as that is where my dogs oncologist is at. Dr. Attas spoke with him before the appointment and I found that really nice as I already sent over all medical records. They did quick work with the doggie and sure enough the kitty knew it was her turn and hid under the bed. Both ladies helped flush her out and they did a nail trim, exam, blood work and urine sample. All so interesting to see the process. She also mentioned sending the blood work to his oncologist so I may get to postpone his visit in two weeks for another month, saving some money and time! After all was done they packed everything up like they were never here and off they went. My fur babies didn't have to deal with traveling across town or being in an unfamiliar waiting room. Much appreciated by the kitty and I'm sure my dog missed all the extra attention. Thank you ladies for such a memorable and unique experience.

Stop going to general practice offices and expecting emergency service. It literally doesn't work that way. Furthermore, please don't listen to the nickel and dime reviews--the practice is doing their due diligence and gold standard of care, which unfortunately costs money. Diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries or dentals all require medical equipment and medications that they have to purchase and therefore you have to pay for. There's no pet insurance that's like human insurance, so the prices are much different. You have to be willing to pay for good care. As a client it's unrealistic and literally unlawful to prescribe a medication to a pet (yes, even "one they've been on forever") without seeing the pet ONCE A YEAR at least for re-examination. Your dog has chronic ear infections? Then yes, obviously you can't just keep refilling without an exam. Wouldn't you like to know if the issue is resolving, evolving, or worsening? Stop dragging veterinary clinics because you don't know how the industry works. So before you take some of these reviews which are only OPINION, do some research. Yelp allows 100% opinion driven reviews, and they don't fact check. You could be harming your own pet and someone else's business by listening to vitriol on the internet.

Today I had the worst experience I have had in a vet's office with my dog ever in over 14 years! I…read morewas kept waiting for a dr in a poopy, smelly room for over an hour and then told they would text me an invoice to sign before they would provide any sort of treatment. I have been using this vet for over a year and have been generally satisfied. So I provide the following description of today's horrible visit with that caveat that what made it the most shocking is that I've never been treated like this by any doctor or drs assistant there at any time before today. My 14+ year old dog, who is sweet and docile and has never had any problems at all at a vet's office, had nothing seriously wrong with him - some type of something was muddled up in a ball in front of his tush and needed to be cleaned out - he wouldn't let me get near it. It was clear he was uncomfortable and smelly and having accidents which he never does. I called URVET appreciating that this was clearly nothing fatal but mentioned that maybe I could get his vaccines done early while I was there. The receptionist told me to come in an hour later which I did. We were brought to a room where the assistant, whose name I don't really know but later they told me was Ashley (which it could or may not be cause when I asked for it they could tell I was pissed), came in relatively quickly. I told her what the problem was and while I there asked if I could get his vaccines taken care of even though I was early. Ashley wrote down the symptoms and then asked me repeated questions about his health history until I finally told her "you have his charts!" By this point, you could see that my pup had pooped in the room which given the situation makes perfect sense.. I point it out to this person Ashley who tells me "don't worry about it you can show the doctor." She leaves, comes back in few minutes later to ask more questions, the answers to all of which are still in his chart, and tells me it may be a little while cause the dr. was involved in a procedures. No big deal. I wait assuming that in the meantime someone would come clean up the smelly room. I was in that closed room with my dog for over an hour. Not once did anyone check in on us and never did anyone clean up the poop that smelled like...well, like poop. The dr finally came in. I explained what the problem was, pointed out the poop still in the room and she said they would do little clipping and wash him up and do anal cleaning. Was this the only reason I came in. I said yes, clearly the dog is uncomfortable. I didnt' even mention the vaccines. It was obvious she had not even looked at his chart either. So she then says she will text me an estimate. Text me an estimate??? WTF? I'm right there - just tell me what it is I told her he has to get this done, please just take him back and I'll take care of the bill. She says no I have to follow procedures. And she leaves the room. So now I'm still in the room with poop waiting for a text from the vet who is literally less than 200 feet away from me. Few minutes later Ashley pops in to ask if I have received the text. I told her no. She tells me to check my emails. I found it. She says great to please read it and sign it and then go to the front desk and leave a deposit so they can take care of my dog. Again, WTF??? I am right in front of you!!! I told her to print out the damn invoice for me, I will sign it and pay the bill...leave a deposit for what? So I go to the front desk. They print out the invoice. I sign it. Pay it. Here comes Ashley again. My dog by now is a nervous wreck. In my arms hanging on for dear life I go to hand him to Ashley and she asks for his leash. His leash? Are you kidding me? You don't even care enough about my 14 pound 14 year old dog that you've left in a smelly room for over an hour to put him in your arms and carry him down the hall?! How the hell were you even ever hired? They didn't just give him a little clip. They literally shaved off all of the hair from under his tail completely. I could hear him scream from the exam he had in the back while waiting for him in the lobby. I am livid and angry. This is not how any animal owner or any animal should ever be treated anywhere by any over-priced careprovider - especially when there was no argument about the price and mutual agreement that what needed to be done was nothing very serious. Just give a damn about my pet. Please. And if you know we will be kept waiting for over an hour on a weekday, please clean up the poop or offer us another place to wait. As I said I have never had this problem at this office before and I am honestly not sure if I would go back or not. And..I have never before posted a negative review about anyone or anywhere at anytime. But what I just experienced at this office warranted the effort.

After searching on Yelp I came across Starbarks and finally found a winner. Believe in their reviews--they know what they're doing! I I called to try to get my dog in the same day but they were already booked so I took an appt for a few days later. They seem to be against overbooking which is good. Their shop is modest but clean. The owner/groomer is kind and takes their time with you. When I had trouble explaining the type of cut I wanted, they pulled up a massive photo library of photos of dog they groomed on their computer and helped me to narrow it down. They told me it would take an hour to an hour and a half to complete, but within an hour they sent a text and told me my little boy was ready! So they are very efficient. When I got him he was groomed EXACTLY like how I wanted and pictured in my head. I was so nervous they would only half listen to my request like other groomers but they did every-single-thing I asked. My dog is also very friendly but fearful of many things, so I was scared they would have trouble with him. Thankfully they knew how to handle him and were tender from the very beginning. Generally speaking on my dog's style, he got a puppy cut with ears and tail kept long, and shaped/tapered. Not only did everything come out fantastic but their prices are SO much better than any of the other groomers in the area and MUCH closer to my house. THAT'S the type of experience I expect and appreciate! I will only be coming here for now on for my dog. Thank you Starbarks!

I spoke to them about it and they said they would be more careful next time. He left the groomer shaking his head for hours. The next time, I reminded them re his ears. He left with hematomas on his ears and shaking his head. I have had these breed for decades and have worked with many groomers. I have never had this negative experience with another groomer. My dog is still terrified when we walk by this groomer's door. Now we have a groomer who my dog is excited to see and absolutely no issues with his ears or otherwise. I also had scheduling issues with the groomer and they were not polite or apologetic.
