Located in the Pioneer Square area of Downtown Seattle with street parking nearby. Upon entering, it's a small entry space with a few tables for seating, on the side. You order at the front before being seated or waiting for your take out order. To preface; I've tried 3 of their different banh mi offerings and they were all so very delicious and flavorful. The bread had a nice crumbly texture with a soft interior that really complimented the flavorful meats and house made pickled vegetables. Even after receiving my sandwiches hours later, there were so good that I knew I had to go for myself since I was given them as take out. So I was ecstatic when I found out they were near work. The wait was a lot longer than I expected but given that it's still their soft opening, that's very much expected since there's only one person working the front taking orders and making drinks. One of the few complaints I unfortunately have is that there was no signage that they were not making Banh Mi and we ended up waiting 30 minutes in line just to be told that they only had their chicken and rice dish. At that point, we felt disappointed and defeated and decided to just order it since it's a dish that I know typically shouldn't take too long to prepare (unless they're making each dish fresh). Well I was wrong because it took another 30+ minutes just to get our food with only 3 orders in front of us. The 3 orders in front of us ended up being 2 orders because one of them ended up requesting to cancel because of how long everything was taking. I also personally didn't like that they never really said how much it would be and I had to check my receipt to find out how much it was (I think when offering a substitute, the price should be disclosed). When we finally got to eat the food, it was okay. The sauces were good but I felt like they could've put bigger containers for it because I ran out of sauce halfway through my meal. I felt as though there was too much black pepper on the chicken and could've been toned down a bit. Also noticed later on (after searching up their instagram to see if they at least announced the banh mi break) that they never put carrots in our pickled vegetables. Hoping to be back once they start serving banh mi again and they figure out their system for taking orders and delivering on them because especially only having a limited amount of time to come by during lunch, having to spend an hour plus just to get food is not the move. Will make an updated review once I can try their banh mi, fresh. But for now, a lot of it comes down to the overall experience.

This place is still in their soft opening, so things may change after this review posted. You can never have too many Vietnamese places in one neighborhood, and I'm certainly happy the Be Mi has decided to open in the pioneer sq area to serve the crowds. I came here on a Thursday around 1:30 - there were a few people waiting for their orders but nothing too crazy. I ordered the Bánh mì thịt nướng (lemongrass pork) and the Cà phê đen - total was about 23$ after tip. I don't know if I read the menu wrong, but the portion size of the Cà phê đen confused me. I was expecting a full cop of slightly sweet black coffee but I ended up getting an espresso-shot-serving iced coffee (with a lot of ice)! I'd skip this next time. While the taste was good, I can't get down with ~4 oz of coffee for $5. The lemongrass pork banh mi was excellent. The bread was fresh, the pork was tender, and the overall taste was just really good. The flavor of the lemongrass was prevalent but not overpowering. I do wish it would've had more filling. At $14+tax I think decent amount of substance is expected of a banh mi, but this was one was pretty light. I'll be sure to come back soon and try some other options. Service was great!

I had my first banh mi decades ago at Hong Phat in Lacey, WA and I've been chasing that feeling ever since. I'm one of those annoying people who judges a banh mi hard, especially the pate and the quality of the ingredients. If anything tastes like it came out of a tub, I'm out. Be Mi passes with flying colors. The bread has that perfect light crackle, and the sandwich is absolutely stacked with fresh mint, cilantro, and scallions, crunchy pickled daikon and carrot, and crispy fried shallots that add this amazing texture. Nothing is an afterthought. Every layer tastes like someone actually cares. And the space itself is something special. Little flags from every country strung across the ceiling, red plastic stools like you'd find on a street corner in Vietnam, plants everywhere, soccer on the TV with the whole room watching together. I came in for a sandwich and ended up hanging out watching the match with a Truly in hand, surrounded by people laughing and cheering. It feels less like a restaurant and more like a house party you got lucky enough to walk into. A huge part of that is Amy and Anthony, the owners. They are the sweetest people and you can feel how much of themselves they've poured into this place. Their attention to detail shows up in everything, from the food to the little touches around the room. Rooting for them big time. Go eat here. Get the banh mi, stay for the vibe. Thank me later.

Great, fast and friendly service. The food was delicious! The portions and prices were great. The bread is made in house and it's super crispy and soft. The interior is definitely like an Asian street food dream. There's a good amount of eclectic seating and tables so they can accommodate groups of various sizes. I'll definitely be coming back again and again.

Shaken beef - should have angled up the halves to show them off . But you can see the juiciness on the wrap

Seattle just got another serious hit with these banh mis! What's interesting about this shop is that the owners say their style focuses on the way things are done in central Vietnam. It's an amalgamation of influences from home and what we are familiar with here (e.g. carrots and papaya). What I know is that I loved what I was biting into. I got the Signature and Shaken Beef Banh Mis. On both sandwiches, the baguette had a lovely rustic brown with a crunchy shell and supple interior that soaked up flavors from spreads and sauces well. Herbs were fresh and crispy. The signature is their cold cut sandwich, which was full of umami from the smooth pate and meat, moist from the mayo, and to boost the savory flavors - a drizzle of soy sauce. The other was the Shaken Beef. Protein was tender and juicy. The baguette is the perfect vehicle to carry that savory and umami sauce - garlic lovers rejoice. Lastly, you can tell the owners care a lot about the food. While I was there, they spent time talking with customers and getting their impression of the food. It was a very welcoming atmosphere and I'll be back for many more!

new banh mi shop in seattle! i got the lemon grass pork which is my typical go to when ordering a banh mi. the flavors and marination of the pork were delicious. can say this is probably one of the best banh mis i've ever had and i love how everything is homemade including the baguette. i do wish there was more filling especially considering it was ~$14. the space itself is very cute and homey vibes. the workers are super sweet as well.

    World Cup welcome.

Kind owner and staff. Delicious Vietnamese coffee. I recommend the sofa with the electrical outlet for some wifi time. Nice restroom available, too.

We ordered both the chicken/egg and pork sandwiches for lunch and enjoyed one of the best meals! This little area of Yesler is hopping with food and Be Mi is a must. It's a different style than Saigon Drip, which is also a favorite, and if you are like me, you'll bounce back and forth between them trying to decide which is most excellent. I loved the chicken/egg banh mi but will have to work my way through the menu and try them all.

The cutest restaurant with a home-y ambience We love how each sandwich is individually crafted and ingredients complement each sandwich nicely. There are no ingredients that overpower each other, but rather balance the flavors out well! We will be back to try the other sandwiches!

I received a promo for $5 off so I tried to use it the previous time, but she didn't know how to apply it. Then another time when I order The Caribbean Plato with pulled roasted pork, when I got home, I discovered the wrong type of meat (grilled pork instead of pulled pork). For these reasons, I didn't go back for a long time. Today, I went again to get take out for my visitors. I called in the order so I didn't have to wait, but Gisela didn't understand my order and kept getting it wrong. I ordered 3 Caribbean Plato with pulled pork, and 1 Caribbean Plato with chicken thigh, but she kept repeating the wrong order back to me (2 pork, instead of 3, wrong type of meat, etc), so I tried it again and again, still no comprendo. I got frustrated and told her that I would just come in person to order. I was in a hurry, but I had no choice. When I got there, I ordered the same thing, but this time, I gestured the type of pork I wanted, using my hands to show pulled and tried to explain that I wanted the shredded kind, not the solid kind). Someone was with me so he heard my order in plain English. As I was waiting for my order, I decided to ask her once more just to be sure that it wasn't the grilled pork bc she made that mistake last time. Then she said my meat was grilling now. I was alarmed since they don't get the pulled pork from the grill. I told her that I wanted PULLED ROASTED PORK, not the solid grilled patty kind. She said something in Spanish to the guy who was putting my order together and he showed me a sample of the pulled pork so I said "YES" that's the one I want. She said they were already cooking the grilled pork. When I told her that she was giving me the wrong order, she said "it's too late". I was so upset so I said, "why is it so hard to understand my order?" Pulled pork is pulled pork, not grilled pork. I never even mentioned the word "grilled". A guy came out from the kitchen so I explained myself and he said what I want is the pulled roasted pork and I said, "that's what I ordered". She tried to explain something to him in Spanish, but he told her to just give me the pulled pork and I was on my way. She just ruined my day, and I could feel my blood pressure rising. I don't think I will ever return again. It's too hard to explain the right kind of meat to Gisela. Dining out and getting take out should be a pleasant experience, not a stressful one.

We were able to get food on a Saturday around 4PM, and fortunately Big Mike's was one of the few places still open at the time. The armory is pretty accessible via the monorail, if you decide to drive, you will have to consider nearby streetside or venue/science center parking. Service is efficient - you place your order at the counter and they will call your name when your sandwich is ready. It took them about 10 minutes to get our sandwich out. There are plenty of tables just outside of the restaurant where you can dine. We got the ribeye cheesesteak for $23, which also came with a bed of fries just underneath the sandwich. The sandwich itself was piping hot, but just hot enough to enjoy without burning yourself. The steak was tender and had decent chew, sliced to a nice thinness. Personal preference, I would like the steak seasoned a bit more strongly as flavor-wise it does get a little one dimensional. This is definitely a touristy area part of town, and I would say that prices are pretty standard. For one person, you should be able to get a nice and filling portion for $18 - $23. I wouldn't consider this place a must visit if you are in Seattle - The flavors are decent and definitely will get you full in a pinch if you are really hungry and in the area.

Happily, it delivered! We split the porchetta sandwich, which was quite tasty. Now, I will say it is not quite at the gold-standard level of the porchetta sandwich from the Roli Roti truck in San Francisco, but that is an extremely high bar. The bread here was fantastic, and the sandwich itself was full of flavor. The inside is cute, and watching two guys dedicate their lives to making sandwiches in the open kitchen is part of the fun... I also spotted a tray coming out of the oven that looked like thick, PERFECTLY crispy bacon, - so whatever sandwich that was going into is definitely what I'm ordering if I ever get here again. One warning, though: I hate the chairs. I am not a skinny person, and these chairs are just uncomfortable. There, I said it. Great sandwiches, fun little spot, and I would absolutely come back. After we already had waited in line. There was a line out the door when we got there. You order on a tablet and several people in front of us were quite slow ordering and it made the line take awhile. We waited at least 10-15 minutes in the line. They have an order ahead option I would utilize next time. The seasonal soup was kale and potato. It was very bland and watery. I wouldn't get it again. The bread was tough and chewy. You definitely get a jaw workout. Both of the warm sandwiches could have used a side of Au jus to soften the bread. The meat looks generous, but they do the sandwich trick. You fold the meat in the middle to make it look generous. But the ends are basically devoid of meat. Maybe a sliver. Flavors were really good. The mustard on the Cubano had a nice kick. Porchetta had a kick from the chimichurri and pickled peppers. Both were a little spicy and my son didn't love it so we ordered him a cold ham sandwich without the mustard. The cold meats are high quality as well, but definitely a little plain compared to the warm sandwiches. Overall 5/10 experience though. More evenly distributed meat and softer bread it would be A solid 10/10.
