Really good sandwiches! I was visiting Seattle for work and during my break, I decided to go to the Armory for lunch. This was certainly a great choice, the food is excellent! I had their Philly Cheesesteak, which was awesome. Everything is cooked to order, so there is a slight wait after ordering, but it is certainly worth it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are also seats and tables outside of the spot for you to eat at, it's shared with a few other restaurants.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you really want an exciting time, eat there while a Zumba is going on! I am a bit torn on Big Mike's. While they serve up a great sandwich, I don't know that it's a must-visit. Located in the Seattle Center Armory, along with many other food vendors, Big Mike's Sandwich Company is serving up huge cheesesteaks, chopped cheese, and other East Coast-style subs. For $25, I picked up the cheesesteak and fries combo. Not a terrible price for the portion. Waited about 10-15 minutes for the sandwich to come out. You order on a tablet here, and then they call your name. It's a small storefront, so you really have to stay nearby to hear your name being called in the large space that is the Armory. Not much interaction with staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of seating throughout the Armory, though shared with other restaurants.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food came out piping hot. Obviously, they cook everything fresh to order because the inside of the fries was like lava. The fries were thick-cut and seasoned to perfection. The sandwich was good. I thought some pieces of the steak were a bit tough, and the roll seemed a bit over-steamed or possibly stale. A good sandwich and decent portion, nonetheless. I'm still going 5 stars here. I think Big Mike's is a great choice if you want a hearty, meat-filled sandwich and you happen to be in the area. However, I think you could be happy with another dining option in the Armory, too. My kids loved the MOD Pizza nearby. While there isn't anything wildly unique going on at Big Mike's, they are still pushing out great sandwiches at reasonable prices with a no-frills ordering process. read more

I really love any kind of beef or pastrami sandwiches so I drove to Seattle especially for one of these. The fries were great, had no issues with the staff, bread was pretty good, the portions were huge. For some reason the meat just didn't seem fresh, it was just kinda dry and stale. Maybe I got the bottom of the container or something but it wasn't ideal. Worst chicken tenders I have ever had, and I've had a lot. It doesn't help that no one was working in the store and you have to order from a tablet which then asks for a tip, but I'm not here to talk about late stage capitalism. **Visited on 7/9/2024 A pleasant surprise choice at the food court near Space Needle and the Discovery Center. The shop is located inside a food court and nestled towards the back of the area. My boyfriend and I were wandering around trying to decide on what to eat, when my boyfriend had noticed the Ribeye Sandwich- we immediately made a b-line to get inside. The staff was pretty chill and kind- they were patient and answered all the questions we had. As a former Chicagoan, one of the foods I miss the most is Italian Beef, which was every bit as much of my teen years as Chicago pizza was. Big Mike's Italian (Hot) Beef is the real thing. The sandwich was huge, tasty, and comes with a generous portion of fries. I think that folks with normal appetites could probably split one of these, but I managed to eat the whole thing. I would recommend grabbing a fork or two, and a handful of napkins - the one downside is that it is pretty messy and near-impossible to actually eat as a sandwich. But, compared to stingy portions of beef at other places, this is a good problem to have... This is a great addition to the Armory food court, and at $19 probably one of the best values there. I had the Italian beef and my wife had the ribeye sandwich. For the price which was very high, sandwiches were not good. Her sandwich was fatty and did not "sit well with her". I can confirm. Mine just didn't taste good. So let's assume it was a bad night for all concerned. As for us it won't be a place we go back to. Even with decent sandwiches I won't pay those prices for what we got. This sandwich was so good and filling...bread is fresh and holds the sauce and toppings perfectly! The two gentleman working there greeted us when we walked up, and when we were done asked how our food was. They definitely take pride in putting out delicious food. I ordered the big steak sandwich. The ribeye was cooked well, it could of been seasoned more though. The blue cheese in the sandwich surprisingly goes well with the beef and arugula (I dislike blue cheese usually but this one didn't bother me, it's actually not bad). I love the onions and the char on the buns, it brings depth to the flavor. The whole total plus taxes before tips came at $26 which is steep but it does come with fries and the fries are pretty good (I forgot to order one of their sauce on the side :/ but I would recommend maybe trying one of their sauce with it, ketchup is fine but somehow... I feel like a different sauce would compliment their fries better). The service was quick, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance is what you'd expect of a food court (though less people during weekdays so it's better).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I expected a bigger portion but this will last me two meals so I'm not really complaining. Biggest sandwich portions in all of Seattle, hands down. This place was insane!!! I personally had the Rib Eye sandwich, and it was good. I am a salt feen so I could have used a little more salt seasoning, but the all-around sandwich was delicious. I saw someone eating a beef sandwich and looking back, I wished I would have gone this route. Looked like a twist on the cheesesteak and had my mouth watering. I also thought the chop sandwich (twist on a chop salad) looked interesting. The most important thing to know about this place is that the prices, although relatively high, are cheap when you consider the portions you are served. Again, the amount of food for one sandwich order is out of this world. I would rate my sandwich an 8/10 but the portions and fries were 10/10. I will be back to try the other 5-6 sandwiches. read more
