    Oh man oh man oh man... FORTUNA - WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!!! So we finally made my way over to Fortuna in north Seattle and let's be clear - it was the exact kind of Italian sandwich I've been craving since I came back from Italy in 2022. And the staff here are as good as they come. So attentive and kind and also super fast! We ordered pretty much everything on their menu lol. Stand outs were BAMBINO, FORTUNA, & BOTTEGA. The ingredients are as fresh as it gets. The flavor is perfect. The bread soft and crispy all at the same time. The one thing I absolutely fell in love with was their additional condiments. Their balsamic, tomato chili, Gorgonzola spear, and fresh pesto were the perfect additions to any of our sandwiches. I promise , if you've been to Europe or Italy and love fresh delicious food this is your spot! Run don't walk.

    I didn't realize that it was just a few minutes before closing but that was my lucky day because one of the owners was in the store... Didn't know who he was at the time but I quickly realized because he was the one that recommended a slice of cheese be added to my spicy tuna which came with pecorino cheese and arugula. Whatever that slice of cheese was it made the sandwich creamy in heaven. Against the sharpness of the spicy savory tuna, and the delicious bitterness of the arugula, the cheeses seem to blend everything together perfectly with the chili oil. When he recommended the black garlic balsamic sauce I didn't even blink. Realizing he was making a masterpiece I ordered a second one so that I could eat it alongside my son. Truly the best meal of the day. So grateful this treasure came into our neighborhood.

    Some people may disagree, but I would argue that simply making it to Fortuna Bottega during their condensed business (weekday) hours is accomplishment. The interior reminds me of a new york style deli - while there is some seating available (I'd say around 10 spots), it's mostly a "grab and go eat elsewhere" like, say, the south end of greenlake. I ended up coming here during their expanded weekend hours - around 12pm on a Saturday - and was greeted to a large line of ~15 people. I was excited to try their "Bottega" sandwich however they were not longer making it so I settled on a Bambino and Gran Sasso sandwich. I enjoyed the bambino. The combination of toppings with the mortadella worked well within their homemade bread (which I thought was the best part for sure). The Gran Sasso - my girlfriend said it was "OK", mostly due to the huge chunks of artichoke hearts (with stems) that were not her favorite. I could see myself coming back here if friends/family wanted to try. At ~$20 a sandwich it is pricey but the ingredients are high quality and the service is friendly.

    We ordered the Bambino and Fortuna. Both were very good. The bread is super fresh and soft, the meat is delicious and perfectly salty, and the cheese inside the sandwich was delicious! It truly melts in your mouth. It is a reasonably priced sandwich, around $18 to $20 per sandwich. We got our sandwiches in less than 10 minutes on a weekend! Super quick! The only downside is they didn't have prosciutto when we were there. Also, there is street parking only.

    Love the easy order on Toast and pick up at the window. There was definitely a line when we got there so I was glad. Some space in front and in the garage to eat. Very chill vibes. Sandwiches were huge and tasty. They don't short you on the meats. Would definitely come back!

    After hearing a lot about Fortuna, I was excited to try them. If there's a line it moves relatively quickly and staff were super friendly. They were even able to give me a sample of the different cheeses as I wasn't sure if the gorgonzola would be super funky. I got the bambino sandwich and it was good. It's a simple sandwich with just a handful of ingredients but it goes well. The bread is pretty crunchy yet fluffy inside. The salty mortadella pairs well with the creamy straciatella (essentially a mozzarella cheese) and the crunchy pistachios. Also, it was a little pricey but the sandwich is relatively large so you get what you pay for. Overall, Fortuna Bottega brings a new sandwich shop to the area and they ingredients are simple however, all together, it works well!

    The sandwiches were incredible! The focaccia is delicious and soft and makes the perfect base for the sandwich. We ordered the Fortuna and the Bambino (my favorite) and both paired perfectly with the Black Garlic Balsamic. The service was also above and beyond. Highly recommend!

    Finally, came by to try out the sandwich at Fortuna Bollega and it wasn't that busy as I've seen it in the past. I ordered the Bambino with some arrugla and garlic balsamic, coke and chips and after tip, taxes and such I ran a $18.50 sandwich up to be $39.80 reminding me of going to the Metropolitan Grill. Fortuna Bollega has an indoor counter and then what looks like a garage out back is some picnic tables. I hung out in the picnic area as the indoor area was packed. I know Seattle is getting pricey, but I'm going to be more careful with my order next time as around $30 seems the minimum for lunch now round town. The sandwich is quite large and filling and I ended up taking 1/2 of it home with me.

    I loved this place so much! The bread is the perfect thickness, soft and delicious. I got the bambino sandwich and the tuna sandwich big Jimmie style, which I highly recommend. Big Jimmie style adds tomato slices and the house made sauces to the sandwich. I cannot wait to go back.

    Really solid Italian sandwich spot in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood. Yes they are expensive but the ingredients were french, the focaccia was perfectly baked (soft and crunchy), and the service was incredibly fast and efficient. There's a small outdoor patio area in the back for you to eat if you want to dine in. I'll definitely come back! The wait was not too long, came on a Saturday and got in line 10 min before opening and got my sandwich a few minutes after ordering.

    Man, what an establishment. We stopped for lunch right at opening and while waiting in line someone brought out samples of bread which was cool. Every single person working today that we had interactions with seemed to be genuinely happy to be there. Loved the set up for entry and exit, no confusion as you're quickly served your sandwich. We chose to sit down at a table to stuff our face real quick and while doing so, a staff member came out to ask us how we are enjoying our meal and for some quick conversation. It was just such an enjoyable experience from start to finish. Loved that by the tables there are additional things like napkins, plates and bags so there's no need to back track to request additional items. The sandwichs were fantastic! We had the bambino and the bottega. The quality is evident and everything was top notch. Worth the hype for sure.

    There is a reason so many people are generally waiting in line to get into Fortuna Bottega. This place is the real deal! The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, making it a fantastic spot for family meals. Despite how busy it was, the staff members were incredibly friendly and handled the crowd with grace and efficiency. We ordered the Caprese and the Bambino sandwiches. Both were remarkably fresh and used high-quality ingredients that instantly reminded me of my travels to Italy. It is rare to find bread and flavors this authentic in Seattle. If you see a line, stay in it, the food is worth every second of the wait!

    Took a Thursday off a few weeks ago one of goals of my friends and I was visiting Fortuna. We were actually first in line. Loved how while you're waiting they give you a sample of their bread hot and toasted. Menus are online also posted on the window and near where you order to make it easy to decide. We already knew we were going to try the popular, Bambino - Mortadella, Stracciatella Cheese, Olive Oil, Pistachio. We probably would've tried the Bottega but one of my friends medically can't handle spice on we went the Gran Sasso-Finnociona, Pecorino Romano, Artichoke, Pesto Fortuna, Arugula. There were three of us and we split the two sandwiches which was just right. There is an out door space to sit with plenty of of picnic tables that are and fully covered area to keep you dry. Napkins and self serve water along with plastic cutlery if needed are also available out there. Service was excellent from the one of the owner's mom handing out the samples, as soon as you entered the space. Also appreciate how they ask if it's ok to snap a pic of the people standing in line. Chef Kirin came out and asked how things were which was a nice touch. Our favorite if the two was the Gran Sasso. I like Finnociona we felt that sandwich had more flavor and texture. We loved the bread to ingredients ratio. The artichokes they use are so good and still firm not mushy which they can often be when marinated. I was at Makeda and Mingus ariund the corner and heard great things about the Caprese and Tonno so looking forward to checking off the rest of the menu one day. Space is small but love how all the ingredients are displayed and you don't have to go out the door you entered to get to the seating undercover. Definitely looking forward to returning

I was expecting them to be served warm or roasted, but they arrived cold, which was admittedly a misunderstanding on my part. The accompanying sauce was excellent though and definitely saved the dish for me. We also ordered the tajarin al ragù, one of the restaurant's signature dishes. Unfortunately, this was where my expectations and experience diverged. The pasta felt under-seasoned to me, and the noodles seemed overcooked. Rather than the silky texture I was hoping for, I found myself eating what felt like clumps of dough. It was a dish I really wanted to love given its reputation, but it just didn't click for me. We weren't looking for a heavy dinner, so we only ordered a couple of items. It's entirely possible we came on an off night or simply didn't choose the restaurant's strongest dishes. I'd be open to giving Cascina Spinasse another try in the future, but this visit left me feeling a bit underwhelmed compared to the hype.

Then the server says, "We actually have 50% off happy hour until 11, come in and dine." So I came in. Ordered a drink, escargot, and a steak medium rare. The escargot came out fine. Then... nothing. 39 minutes later (at 10:45pm), the server asks if I'm waiting on anything else. Yes... my steak. She goes to check, disappears, and then comes back with something that honestly felt DISTESPECTFUL. The steak looked like scraps. Uneven, mismatched chunks, all different sizes, with burnt, crispy edges and covered in sauce like they were trying to hide it. It didn't look like a single cut of meat it looked like pieces from multiple steaks thrown together. The plating was sloppy, and the side looked like an afterthought. I didn't take a bite. I looked through it and said, "This looks like pieces from different steaks." She told me she watched them cut it... then immediately followed that by saying she saw them put it under a heat lamp to reheat. So which is it? I work in the food industry. I'm not going to be gaslit over a plate like that. She offered to refire it, but at that point it was almost 11 and they were closing. I paid for my drink and left. Honestly, I wouldn't have been upset if they had just told me the kitchen was closing when I called. But don't invite me in, forget my order, and then serve something like this and try to pass it off like it's normal. Just be honest.
