Show your support for little Saigon! The area was hit hard by vagrants but it's still a place to support. Here we have 100% vegan food options! From a all you can eat deli buffet to à la cart Banh Mí sandwiches We opted for vermicelli, it was good, not the freshest lettuce. The best was the bành mí. Especially the pork (vegan) and another good option is the spicy lemongrass. All vegan and all yummy! Very casual, not fancy. Think deli market. Indoor dining available or to-go!

I love trying new Vietnamese spots and Chu Minh has been on my radar for a while. The restaurant is what I would expect for a small local Vietnamese place, with straightforward service and a no frills environment. We had never been there before and we just went up to the counter, paid for the buffet option, and went to grab food in the other room. The buffet also comes with a can of soda/bottle of water. Everything we tried from the buffet was pretty good! I am trying to eat less meat and love having a good vegetarian/vegan option. They have lots of tofu dishes, various mock meats made from seitan, egg rolls, and some veggie side dishes. I will say everything was a bit salty and needed rice to go with it. I got full off of maybe one pound of food, so in the future I'd just go with paying by the pound. I would recommend if you are looking for a good meatless option in the area!

    By the pound.

Such a hidden gem. I got the buffet by the pound to try the various things and a spicy tofu banh mi. The various buffet items were all pretty good. Little bit on saltier side but so delicious. Similarly for banh mi. I also got a bunch of things to go for lunch next day. Definitely recommend. I'll be going back :)

It's interesting to see vegan Vietnamese restaurant, so we decided to try it. It's also difficult to find a restaurant that serves both pho for my interest and bahn mi for my husband's interest. There is a kiosk to order from. I believe the buffet (by weight) is ordered differently. It's not completely self-served. Please remember to tip as they do serve you water, bring you food, and clean up afterwards. My husband liked his vegan BBQ duck sandwich. I liked my soy milk soup noodles too, but it's a huge portion and a little different than expected. I barely tasted any soy milk, the broth also seems thinner than Japanese soy milk noodle broth. It's so interesting! I don't regret trying this place, but taking bus here was not the best experience I had during my time in Seattle...

I came here for the ayce for $24.95 and it was a great deal! All the tofu is made in house and the options they have at the buffet are delicious! I also really enjoyed the banana taro dessert soup, it was warm and not too sweet! They have a pot of rice but it tasted a little hard and old to me. The staff were friendly and helpful. The seating area could be cleaner but it still good for the price.

Got delivery so can't speak to service or ambiance beyond the really strong packaging. The food was fantastic and I will absolutely be ordering from them many times again in the future! Very good bahn mis.

This one-of-a-kind vegan restaurant has been in business for 11 years. With the $25 AYCE buffet, I was stuffed after finishing three full plates. I enjoyed the variety. Service was friendly and personable. Atmosphere is casual. There was a steady flow of patrons. The restaurant is in an enclave surrounded by homeless people.

The staff here is so kind and friendly! And the entire space smells SO amazing. Food tasted authentic and home-cooked. I got their Mongolian "beef" bahn mi, and it was so good that I completely forgot to take a picture until it was all gone, and I wanted more. Highly recommend for authentic delicious vegan Vietnamese food! I went with some non-vegan friends and they were very satisfied as well.

came from out of town to try this--overall loved eating here. i wanna just shoot down the comments saying it's in a gnarly spot or whatever bec surprise, you're in a metropolitan city! this place gives out FREE food and is an essential resource to its surrounding community. the food was great, very quick service. i got meatball banh mi, very lovely seasoned veg meatballs and a spicy sauce. the banh xeo was a bit on the greasy side, and was lacking the typical crisp. for the price point, it's a great choice for plant based viet!

I think if I hadn't had fantastic fake meat before (at Blossom Vegetarian restaurant), I would be more satisfied with this sandwich. The gluten had a texture and chew closer to chicken skin than chicken meat itself, so I would not say the imitation was successful. Nonetheless, this place is doing the real work (handing out free meals on weekends), and offers fresh food by the pound while being at a questionable intersection in ID. So go support them!

Been here many times and i have grown to love the spicy tofu banh mi so much that this place is a five star just because of that oh and their egg rolls. Man something so simple and i cant even find a bussin banh mi in los angeles. I am still on the search. The people here must have bland tastes because i went to their suggested places and those banh mis were heeella bland lol. The search continues but this is my main banh mi place oh that pho though was unphogiveable because it got nasty after a few hours and im traumatized i dony want to try it again ill stay with the safe things

Incredible service at the register. The employee walked us through the menu and ordering process, answered all of our questions and helped us make our final decisions. I ordered a tofu banh mi. My wife ordered sesame balls and spring rolls. As we waited for our food, we were served complimentary egg rolls. They weren't as crispy and fresh as I would've liked but they were free so one can't complain too much. The banh mi was absolutely delicious. One of the best things I ate during my nine days in Seattle. The spring rolls were fine as were the sesame balls. A couple of notes: after the initial ordering and delivering of our food, we were pretty much left to our own devices. We got our own waters, cups and napkins. Also, the area around the restaurant doesn't appear to be the greatest. My family and I (wife, two elementary aged kids) walked here from the train station and were fine but probably not something I'd do later at night. Overall, the Banh Mi here was definitely five star worthy. Everything else fell slightly below that.

This is hands down my fave place in Seattle, not just banh mi but everything, I have never had anything I don't like here and the women who runs it is the sweetest person ever. This place is Seattle's gem.

Is this restaurant now open for dine in? And are they doing a buffet?

The buffet and dine in are both open as of January 2022.

Hello! What options are gluten free? Which sauces as well?

Great question, if no reply here this week, definitely try calling the deli early after opening or late evening before closing. If the answerer doesn't know, ask for Tanya or Vivian. They're often busy but would be glad to help you.

Do they have a private parking lot? If no, how is street parking?

There is a parking lot, but it's a bit small. I was only visiting and can't remember if there was street parking or not, but there were a few open in the lot when I went.

The meat portions were sparse, and the pricing does not justify the quality or quantity of the food. There are simply too many better pho options in the area at this price point.

The custard duck egg is an excellent starter, with a rich, savory broth that delivers a deep, yolky umami punch. The rau ram oil and herb is such a creative twist that adds the perfect herbal dimension. The radicchio pudding was light and offered a clean, almost grassy brightness without being overwhelming in flavors. Great option for any vegans at the table. The wagyu beef tallow fries were some of the best fries I've ever had. Ultra-crispy, perfectly thick-cut, and deeply flavorful with beef notes shining through, without being too heavy. Like many of the dishes here, perfectly balanced in flavor. The grilled eggplant with whipped tofu and crispy sun chokes was another standout. The tofu whip was so smooth and should be considered a worthy sub for mayo. The eggplant was soft, creamy, and perfectly charred. The garlic rice was incredibly savory and maybe my favorite version of it yet. Packed with the perfect depth of garlicky flavor and seasoning. Finally for dessert - I thought the durian fruit cup was decent, it's great for durian lovers but next time I will be back to try their other desserts. The hollow bread is a must-try. It's fried to perfection, the inside is steamy and the butter it comes with is perfect but the bread alone is so good that it doesn't need it. The perfect touch of roasted sesame. Slightly sweet, it's a delight in textures and perfect in cold weather. The oyster on half shell in happy hour is also a great standard oyster, very fresh, with a nuanced Viet twist in the sauces. Vegetable dip is pretty standard and also delicious, great if you're looking for a healthy starter. Coffee rubbed ribs were fantastic as well and an incredible deal for the size. I can't say it was anything super special but it was definitely worth a try. Food & drink: (4/5) There are for sure certain items that they excel at and some that need some work. We got the banh uot tower with heo quay, banh khot, banh mi chao, and com tam. I see the appeal of the eye catching banh uot tower, but unfortunately I felt like it was very mediocre. I felt like the portion of veggie and meat wasn't enough for all the rice rolls, plus the actual heo quay was dry with barely any crispy skin. I think they also forgot to give us the heo quay because we had to ask for it much after the banh uot came out. I would skip this next time. I would also skip the banh khot as it was on the softer, chewier side when my personal preference is light and crispy. Those who do like it soft will definitely enjoy it though. As for flavor, it had an extremely prominent coconut taste- it usually isn't so strong in banh khot so I wasn't so fond of this. My family did really enjoy the com tam and banh mi chao. I only had one bite of each, but I would get these items again. Their drinks on the other hand, were delightful. I got the tamarind black tea and my step dad got the lychee green tea. Both were super refreshing and even addicting. I think they tend to do sweet items better, including their rice crispy treats that they sell on the front counter. Service: (4/5) The service here didn't really stand out much but I didn't pay much mind to it. They were very nice but there was a sense of disorganization, mostly due to us not being acknowledged when we first walked in and having some of our food forgotten about.
