The indoor space is really cute, but I was confused as to why everything was blocked off and restricted to takeout only. I ordered the famous Caribbean Roast sandwich and a side of rice and beans, which came to a little less than $30. While it's a good sandwich, it felt a bit heavy; I really found myself looking for more acid to cut through the fat and grease. I have tried the nachos version of it before as well, and that's equally delicious. The key is definitely that succulent roasted pork. I will say that the sandwich version is MESSY so don't wear white, and also just be mindful if you have plans after. This year, my dad decided to order a pre-seasoned and smoked turkey from Paseo and my GODDD it was good! We made a gravy from the drippings as well which turned out so good too. People would literally wait in line for hours during the height of their popularity. Now folks will head to the shop and ready to go orders are fulfilled. It is a very good sandwich and sometimes messy depending on how juicy it is. It was considered one of the best sandwiches in America at one point, and it can be yours for a cool $14. They have several other sandwiches that deserve some sunshine as well, such as the Paseo Press ($16), which also has roasted pork shoulder, but includes ham, banana peppers, fresh cilantro, caramelized, onions, and a nice bed of melted Swiss cheese. I also think highly of their Pork Belly ($15), which features a marinated seared pork belly with all the fixings that the other sandwiches are known for. The toasted baguette along with the garlic aïoli make a world of difference. I was also able to enjoy their roasted corn, which is similar to Mexican elote, but is lathered with the garlic aïoli and some in-house spices. I took a chance on there Paseo jambalaya ($18), which features big tiger prawns, andouille sausage, Alaskan cod over jasmine Rice and their supposed famous red sauce. My husband picked up lunch from here the other day when Un Bien was closed. They have pretty much the same menu but unfortunately this place wasn't as good. I got the Caribbean roast and some rice and beans. The sandwich was pretty tasty but was a soggy mess by the time he got it home because of the amount of juice coming from the meat. Had I been able to eat it there, it probably would have been better. The rice and beans here were ok but no where near as good as the ones at Un Bien. We experienced a mix bag here at Paseo, home to the infamous Famous Caribbean Roast. I have watched on the net how delicious their Caribbean Roast is from many vloggers and the like. The Fremont Ave. branch is situated in what I can think off as a quaint neighborhood in Seattle. It to a few minuities to find parking but eventually found one and off we went to Paseo. Paseo in Seattle is nice small store with just a few tables inside. Fortunately, we descended upon the store during off-peak hours so we were able to have a seat and our late lunch inside. Undoubtedly, I ordered their Caribbean Roast sandwich. The kids had a modified Caribbean Plate: steak as protein and minimal veggies as possible. Our order came in just a few minuities. First off, the Caribbean Roast sandwich is massive and looks very hearty. First bite: the pork is very tender and succulent. The caramelized onion compliments the pork and both impedes a sweet succulent flavor in your taste buds. The jalapenos, cilantro, and the bread itself rounds out the sandwich as a very solid one, 4 to 4.5 stars as I reckon. Our kids and my wife's Caribbean Plato with steak though was quite a letdown. Again, the plate looks hearty with ample servings of meat. The flavor though is very bland. I can think nothing other than copious amount of salt and seasoning every time I take a sample bite of their plates.
