If I could give this company 10 stars, I would! Debbie is incredibly easy to communicate with, great at explaining and educating, and really cares about keeping your kid safe. I was skeptical about hiring a professional for something so mundane - put in a few outlet covers, add a few gates, what's the big deal? But, first time mom anxiety won out and I booked a consultation. I am SO GLAD I did! They do a very fair and thorough in-home consultation during which Debbie very kindly tells you all the ways that your home is a death trap. She tells you all the best items to use and changes to make and is great about explaining her reasoning (ex: don't use the little push in electrical outlet covers because they're choking hazards; install a sliding cover instead). She understands the frustration points that parents are likely to encounter and looks for creative solutions (sometimes free!) that will make your home safer. After the consultation, Debbie sends a detailed plan for making your home safe. You can stop there and say "thanks, I'll take it from here" or you can book an installation with her and her friendly team. You guys, they brought handvacs to clean up after themselves. Having worked on child safety legal cases, I knew I didn't want to miss anything. But I just didn't have the experience or knowledge to do it myself. Researching online was only increasing my anxiety. We were feeling very stressed with the task of baby proofing our two story condo. The initial consult was worth it if only to put my mind at ease. We talked for a while and she answered every question. I consulted with another company, but they were not even close to level of sincerity and diligence that Debbie brings to the table. I was at work so my mom has to be there for when Debbie did the inspection for the report and initial quote. I call my mom and she is like: "Debbie reminds me of old friend! She is the best." I hired Be Safe in the middle of the pandemic - not sure how things were going to work with everything closed, but knowing that my 9 month old baby was just about ready to start crawling and that I needed help. Debbie responded to my inquiry and gave me the plan. We'd do a virtual walkthrough of my home and she'd make a detailed plan for me. I could do all of her recommendations myself, use her and her installers for some of them, or any combination I wanted. The cost of the initial consultation would be applied to any work. Nice. Walkthrough. I was amazed at how much Debbie could detect via my shaky camera skills. She pinpointed things I didn't even think of and also explained why I didn't need to worry about some other things that had initially concerned me (like I had tamper resistant sockets - go figure). She showed me examples of products, gave me low cost alternatives, and explained her reasoning. Very insightful and thorough. Installation. I elected to have her do all the stuff that involved drilling - furniture straps, retractable gates for the stairs, drawer locks, mounting of baby monitor. To start off, Debbie was very responsive; I had sent an email request via their website and she emailed me back with times and dates for an in-home visit within the same day. During her in-home visit, she was respectful and wasn't overly pushy. She didn't try to talk me into doing more than what I wanted. After her visit, she sent a very thorough email explaining what we went through, what she recommended, and what everything would cost. Long overdue - We had our new home baby-proofed in August of 2019. Debbie and her team did an impeccable job and are super detail oriented and respond promptly. She also has the memory of an elephant - doesn't forget a single detail. We had a super huge job that took 3 men from morning until mid afternoon and they literally babyproofed anything that could be open and even did some extra work and exceeded/went above and beyond my expectations. She also comes to your house once and does a run through with you and you can always add more tasks to the job. Even on day off installation she can work with you to adjust everything to your liking, for example, different types of latches for different types of furniture or needs, i.e. permanently latched or a latch that can be undone/un-babyproofed. My kids were not definitely NOT happy when they came home. The 3 YO girl started punching and hanging off the the baby gate and the 18 mo old was screaming bloody murder. I just laughed and laughed and laughed. I felt like I finally won! They've learned that the gate is there and will remain there... There is no pressure to purchase any of the supplies through them but I would go with what they offer unless it's the same product found dramatically cheaper elsewhere; usually these are only minor, plastic parts. I am super satisfied with having worked with Debbie - it's not cheap but the time, labor, mental energy, and headache she saves you is all worth it. Not to mention you'll feel so relieved and have peace of mind knowing your children won't get into anything or hurt themselves. Yes, all the other reviews are correct - she and her team are absolutely professional, attentive, efficient, easy to work with, friendly, kind, reliable, timely, skilled, and doesn't beat around the bush. I would never have expected to walk around my house after babyproofing saying "i really love what we did" but I have multiple times. Debbie and the team took the time to take our difficult, modern styled house that was difficult to fit into many of the normal tools and figured out how to make it not only work but look almost invisible. We have open backed stairs and they found us great retracted;t gates that matched in color and "disappears" pretty significantly when not in us, which is fairly significant when there are 5 of them. They also did a great job making nearly invisible plexiglass fit perfectly into the open sides to prevent the little one crawling in between the wires. The rest of the house was just as unobtrusive. As others mention, Debbie is incredibly thorough in her consultation and installation, fair and transparent in her pricing, professional, and knowledgeable.
