I stopped in one morning curiously to try the bagels and wow! I was blown away by the perfect balance of crunchy and chewy ! I was pleasantly surprised by the authentic bagel taste and texture and freshness and delighted by the gracious service fast and friendly ! I can't wait to return and try more things! They have plenty of tables and some cool merchandise to purchase! They also serve lunch and have great parking and location for easy in and out or stay for a while. They had a steady flow of regulars in the few minutes I was in and out with my to go order! This is definitely a gem and I can't wait to return and try some other items! Very chill place. You order at the counter and specify to go or dine in. I sat down with my friend having breakfast and catching up. The orders came in good time and everything was delicious! Their coffee bar is self serve. It's intimate and nice. They also have branded shirts at the front and other merch. They were just missing stickers for me but everything else was lovely. I'm a breakfast enthusiast, always on the hunt for the best spot in Vero Beach. Today, I decided to try out Beach Bum Bagel Cafe. When I walked in, there was only one other table occupied, and the server, who seemed to double as the hostess and cook, was chatting with them. I wasn't really greeted, which left me unsure if it was a "go to the counter to order" or a "sit down and someone will take your order" kind of place. I eventually sat at the counter and was handed a menu, which I found a bit confusing to navigate. Overhearing someone order a sausage, egg, and cheese on a bagel, I decided to go with that. I wasn't asked about a drink, which threw me off at first, but I figured it out when I noticed another customer making their own coffee behind me. It was a basic coffee setup, reminiscent of what you'd find at a 7-Eleven. I made myself a hazelnut coffee with vanilla almond milk creamer, but unfortunately, the flavor was as lackluster as the setup. While sitting at the counter, I noticed some random trash around--things like a credit card slip at my seat, a used Styrofoam coffee cup at the next seat, and a silverware wrap on the other side. There were also dirty dishes on a cooler next to the kitchen. These aren't huge issues, but they do suggest a relaxed attitude toward cleanliness and detail. When my sandwich arrived, it looked underwhelming, both in size and presentation. The bagel seemed smaller than what you'd get at Einstein Bros. or Panera. Flavor-wise, it didn't impress either. The cheese seemed to be some sort of sauce, as I couldn't really see or taste it. My total came to $12 after tip, and honestly, I feel like I could get better value at Dunkin'. Overall, this seems like a great spot for locals and regulars. The employee was chatting with customers about their "usuals" and seemed to know everyone by name, which is a nice touch, especially in a small town like Vero. However, as someone who was visiting for the first time, I found the experience lacking and didn't encounter anything compelling enough to bring me back. read more

Great breakfast and lunch place in old downtown Vero Beach. Cool beach vibes with friendly owner/operators. Bagels and breakfast sandwiches are always delicious. I'm mostly a lunch customer. My favorites are "On the Grill" turkey, tomatoes, spinach and Swiss in a wrap. Avocado BLT. Philly cheesesteak. Burgers are big and juicy. The fries are absolutely amazing! I had the onion bagel and it was filled with flavor and was delicious. For those who are from the New Jersey/Pennsylvania area they have pork roll which is a rare find in the south! I was a tad disappointed in the speed of service. It took them approximately 10 minutes to prepare one bagel sandwich and one bagel with cream cheese, even though I was the only one in there. I wish I could give this place a higher rating because I love small little bagel and coffee shops! I ordered a bagel and cream cheese. I settled on an everything bagel because they were out of what I wanted and veggie cream cheese. However, the veggie cream cheese is NOT veggie cream cheese- it is a block of regular cream cheese with some chunked up vegetables tossed in. No flavor. Not mixed. The girl made sure several times I was charged for veggie cream Cheese which is fine but don't go expecting veggie cream cheese. I highly recommend going online to food network and googling a recipe and changing it. The bagel itself was fresh and good but the cream cheese two thumbs down! read more

My wife and I both got pork roll, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. We both had coffee. The sandwich was very tasty and fresh. The coffee was also very good and the service was prompt. I have a personal preference to have sit down service and this is basically counter service , with tables to sit down to eat your food. I'm not sure if I would return but for a quick tasty bagel sandwich with quick, friendly service, it's worth a try. read more

I love Beach Bum! I work as a Realtor here in Vero Beach. Before I run out to showings or the office in the morning I always stop in to grab an egg and cheese on a Kaiser roll from George. This is a true New England style breakfast sandwich spot with the small town feel included. I highly recommend. read more

I'm from the south, so I know biscuits not bagels. But, I got a French Toast bagel from here that made me want to run back in there and get some more to take home. It was both sweet and salty...man, that thing was good. You can also order a HUGE cup of sweet tea to go. Some other reviewers groused about the ambiance. But I don't know what they were hoping for out of a place named literally named Beach Bums. Is it white napkin? Nah. But, they were friendly and cheerful...and also, French toast bagels. The prices seem fair but the ambience is not pleasant, sort of grubby (bench seats, floor), noisy with annoying radio playing over conversations. The food was very poor quality - limp biscuit, limp bacon, burnt potato wedges. I cannot imagine returning. read more
