If you're looking for the best wings in Fort Lauderdale, this is the place. When my friend initially told me to order the grilled wings instead of the normal fried ones, I was skeptical... but I trusted him, and he did not lie. They were the best grilled wings I've ever had anywhere (also cause I'm rarely getting wings grilled to be honest) with that being said I do want to go back and get the fried ones since I can only imagine how great those are (everyone knows fried things, while unhealthier, taste better) I had the Thai chili, and also the dry rub. Another old charm bar behind the Fort Lauderdale strip just off Sunrise Blvd with a mural of a red cardinal against a blue background on the side of the building. This was our first stop on our bar crawl. We met the bartender, Cristy, who explained the discounted happy hour menu. We ordered a couple craft beers and cocktails but no food yet. The decor was anything but humble. They had a female statue with outstanding busoms in a pink top next to a giant parrot. They have a secondary bar in the other room with a long table shuffleboard on one side including a digital dart board. The bathroom was very simple and needed some assistance. read more

Went to this old fashioned pub during happy hour with my friend and my hubby. I quickly made more friends with the group of people across the bar who were from Chicago. Every inch of the wall decor displayed something from the decades ago. Loved the old rock tunes that were playing on the digital jukebox. Had a double Gray Goose and soda water which was refreshing. I am going on a limb and giving this place a 5 star ! I would put it in category as a dive bar vibe/hidden gem. Located right off the beach in Ft Lauderdale I literally stumbled across while walking back to my hotel last week. Doesn't look like much from the outside but once inside has a really cool beach vibe and for a Monday night this place was packed full of locals. I found a place at the bar and the extremely friendly bartender made a few local beer recommendations and it was an IPA for me. For a starter I had the pretzel with honey mustard dipping sauce and while not super impressed I was hungry it hit the spot. For food the bartender highly recommended the cheesesteak sandwiches and that didn't take much convincing. I loaded mine up with onions, peppers, jalapeños, cherry peppers and mushrooms with a side of their homemade chips. This sandwich was amazing! I found a way to eat the whole thing and left in a meat/ food coma but it was worth it. I absolutely loved everything about this place and can see why it is such a favorite local spot and wish I lived by a place like this I could call my own! The Famous Parrot Lounge! This is a must visit if you are in the neighborhood. I called ahead from the hotel next door and asked for their favorite sandwich. To which I was asked chicken or steak. I said steak, and was told my sandwich would be ready when I got there. I showed up to the best steak sandwich of my life. It was basically a steak on some bread, and l will admit I was skeptical. But the steak was well seasoned, perfectly cooked, tender to the bite. It was delicious. The vibes are dark sports bar, but in a cozy and fun way. The bartenders were fun and attentive. Do not go here if you're Latino or black . apparently they only like white people here. I was asked to leave by a police officer for no reason I ask the the cop if I had done anything wrong and he said no the bar just wanted me to leave. no explanation. I wasn't rude or bothering anyone. Even though some of the workers are Hispanic they still didn't want me there because I was the only person not white.. I wasn't intoxicated or being belligerent. just simply " out of place." I will be filing a lawsuit for discrimination. It's not even a nice bar I was only there because I was invited. The Parrot Lounge is an iconic landmark in Fort Lauderdlae, and just like the Primanti Brothers, I can't see how it is ever going anywhere. Simple concept, great service l, good drinks and good food. Seems like a simple formula, but not many establishments in Fort Lauderdale can meet this standard. My bartender for the day was Greg and he kept me hydrated. Still, all the bartenders here were helpful. They have a decent craft beet selection. Especially drafts which are my absolute favorite. Ordered an order of hot Buffalo wings as well. It came with celery, carrots and blue cheese. I asked for them crispy and they did a pretty good job. I think they brine the wings because they had internal salt and some black pepper. They were also just slightly smoky, for Buffalo wings. I liked them, and that says a lot because I am a certified wing snob. Only drawback was they soak their celery in water which made the texture and taste absolutely awful. One bad celery does not ruin the whole experience which was great. I recommend a visit to the Parrot Lounge if you are in the Fort Lauderdale area. read more

I have visited Parrot Lounge around 5:00 or 6 times and each time has been nothing but good things. Parrot Lounge is a sports bar, very casual one block away from Fort Lauderdale beach. We just went last Saturday and walked in to a lifeguard party, Lively music, and good vibes. Even though it is a sports bar the food is always on point. We absolutely love the fish tacos they have so much flavor. Last time we got lemon pepper wings, this is the second time I come back for those the flavor of the lemon pepper is so good if you love that please get it. We have shots this time but they also have a good selection of beers at the bar. My friend loves the crab cakes and I have to agree. The Parrot came up on my Yelp Friends Activity Feed and I had a flashback! I'm glad it's still open after all these years. There's some drinking holes that never lose their appeal. If you grew up and went to college in this city it was the place to go. If you want a ice cold beer from a tap, just saddle up to the bar and take your choice. My wife and I went here after reading several reviews that were good, and a bad review on Yelp, that almost kept us away, but thought we'd give it a try,and boy am I glad we did. They were very inviting, we sat on the patio in front of the bar (which is essentially the sidewalk) in front of four tv's. We asked if they could put the Big Ten Championship game on with the sound, and our servers made that happen as well. We sat and drank and watched the Buckeyes, and eventually order a Philly steak that we split as a snack, it was amazing! As the Buckeyes ended up losing, the two servers (I wish I could remember their names, they were awesome) picked up my wife and I's last two drinks, they felt bad for OSU taking a loss, as the entire bar inside seemed to be rooting against the Buckeyes. My wife and I could not have been happier with this place, we should have had dinner here, the food was much better than where we ate. If you're in Ft.
