I've been coming here for about a decade, and I recently visited with family who was in town. I've always come mainly for the fishbowls and the views - the atmosphere and overall look of the restaurant are definitely the highlights. That said, I was pretty disappointed with my most recent visit. I feel like the quality of the drinks has gone down over the years, and the fishbowls just didn't feel as strong or as worth it, especially considering the price. When you're paying for a fishbowl, you expect it to be a fun experience and feel like you're getting your money's worth. The staff who helped us were very nice, and I still really enjoy the vibe and setting of the restaurant. It was breezy and slightly rainy which was perfect for me. We ordered beers with jello shots, for old time's sake.. I could not drink the jello shot out of the paper cup it came in. It was gross. The cup was almost falling apart. The beer was nice and cold. The conch fritter appetizer was so good. I loved them. Served crispy and hot. Delicious. I ordered a mahi sandwich and got a house salad instead of the fries. I recommend not getting the fries. I took two and they are not good. No flavor at all. My salad was ok. My mahi sandwich was just bad. Nothing exactly wrong with the fish, the coating was flavorless. I just took a few bites The other two seemed to like their Cuban sandwiches. Danny was our server. Found this restaurant in the mall complex by our beach towera Marriott hotel room. Loved the signage coming in. Very entertaining to read. We bee lined for the window seat to enjoy the he Atlantic ocean. The high top and open seating felt we were in a wind tunnel. Didn't mind. Marie was our waitress and greeted us kindly. She was professional, fun, and knowledgeable. We ordered the gator bites, a rum and coke, spicy watermelon margarita and the white peach sangria. Everything was delicious and came to the table quick. Second stop on our unsanctioned Fort Lauderdale Strip Pub Crawl at the Beach Place which hosts an array of eateries, bars and beachy shops. All the big restaurant/bars here have unobstructed views of the beautiful Ft Laud beach - breathtakingly amazing, movie worthy. We enter and immediately thought, "This is a fun fun fun place". There were two tables of Beer Pong, darts and a Wall Hook Game. This would be a wild spring break location for college kids for sure. The decor was hardcore surf and beach theme and a large tiki hut style center bar and a back area smaller bar. Met with the bartender, Gabby, who explained the happy hour deals. She recommended the coveted frozen strawberry/pina colada for $8.00, which we happily wanted. She placed the drink in front of my wife, who quickly drooled, and stabbed a mini umbrella into the red cherry next to the pineapple wedge and the red/white oversized straw (the dang paper kind that gets soggy quick). This two flavored frozen drink was strong and sweet. You can add $5.00 for an extra floater shot but Gabby showed us the well liquor bottle and it was not a known brand so we skipped it. Sat across from the bar at a table with crazy views of the beach while sipping the drink and the sea breeze blowing my wife's hair into her face. We placed a few rounds of the Wall Hook Game which the wife won. The manager came over a few times to check on our happiness. The had a decent selection of Lulu Bait Shack shirts for sale in their kiosk. The men's bathroom was clean. read more

My friend got fried shrimp and said it was the best she's ever had. She enjoyed the light breading and again, it tasted freshly made. We asked for a table overlooking the beach and the views were great! Our waiter was not the brightest...didn't bring us napkins, didn't bring us silverware, couldn't answer any questions about the area. Our bill was about $80 plus tip. It took 50 minutes to get overcooked shrimp steam broccoli and rice - told the server I was starving and the one meal she recommended wouldn't fill a 10-year-old, came out with 9 baby shrimp 40/50 size we're supposed to be blacked -$: had zero seasoning on them, supposed to have a mango chutney- came with no sauce, supposed to have buttered broccoli, broccoli was undercooked and just steamed- no seasoning, worst meal I've ever had in Ft Lauderdale also cost $50 for that and one drink with zero alcohol in it! I have been coming here for years! I love this place. It's on the second story of Beach Place which means they have an unobstructed, awesome view of the ocean. Super casual atmosphere, great to pop in if you're in need of a snack and cold bevy after the beach. My favorite is their yummy fish dip or peel and eat shrimp! I enjoyed sitting right by the water because it allowed me to people-watch, which is always fun! Our server greeted us promptly and provided us with water. The menu was easy to read but the quantity felt limited. We ordered the "Three Amigos" appetizer which was chips with guacamole, salsa, and queso. I loved the salsa but the guacamole was a bit on the saltier side. For our entrees we had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich and Fried Shrimp. The food was good but it didn't blow me away. This is a casual spot so expect casual food. I also had the Coconut Refresher mocktail which was a bit too sweet for my liking. The star of the show was the Swamp Water- the perfect balance of sour and sweet, especially if you like lemonade. The stars are mainly for service, everyone was friendly and attentive. Love coming here with my out of town friends & family for their awesome drinks and south Florida centered menu. A staple to the beach place plaza, Lulu's drinks are a must as you can choose from their frozen drinks, on-tap & to-order cocktails as well as choosing a souvenir cup to take home with you like their famous fishbowl that's enough for 2-3 people. Parking is available in the adjacent garage for I believe $20 for the whole day. The plaza is right across from the beach so you get a beautiful view. We were able to find seating at the bar as we came on a Wednesday afternoon and were greeted right away by our bartender. We shared the fish dip & coconut shrimp platter (my favorite) and I tried 'The Local' drink, my friend had a classic margarita. Everything was delicious even down to the fries. This place can get pretty crazy during season but is always a good time. read more
