Beach Plumbing did a great job of finding and repairing a difficult water leak below ground level where water enters my home. It took several visits, and their guys were patient and persistent. However, when the work was done, a pounding noise known as "water hammer" ensued for several months. I called Beach multiple times and in some cases their plumber visited. They assured me multiple times that the water hammer was unrelated to the work that they did and eventually suggested it might instead be a loose pipe inside the wall. After much trial and tribulation including cutting several holes in the stucco wall to search for a loose pipe (none was found by Beach or a second plumbing company), they suggested I consult with a fire safety company (the house has built-in sprinklers) about whether the replacement water valve they installed as part of the leak repair was the correct type. (This had me scratching my head - I had been assured the water hammer had nothing to do with their work on the leak repair.) Sure enough, they had installed the wrong type of water valve which caused the water hammer. The pounding disappeared once the fire safety company installed the correct type of valve. Beach paid the fire safety company to install the proper valve, but my request for Beach to pay the $1225 I spent to open holes in the walls and subsequently repair them based on their suggestion of a loose pipe was refused. I started a small claim suit because they admittedly installed the wrong valve and gave me bad advice, but not being a lawyer I didn't jump through all the legal hoops correctly, and today I decided to have the suit dismissed for now. I retain the right to refile it later. Long story short, they did good work on repairing my leak, but my expectation was that a profession plumbing company should have known how to replace a water check valve with the correct replacement type and not lead me down a path of looking for a loose pipe at my own expense. read more

I can't say enough about Edwin from Beach Plumbing and Art the leak detection expert. Art found the source and Edwin stopped the leak. They were both very friendly and reassuring. For anyone concerned enough to read the lies posted in response to an HONEST review, the "business manager" Chad's repeated falsehoods are glaring and evident. My original 2-star review is now reduced to one (would be zero) based on a business' desire not to rectify wrongdoing but instead to engage in libel, false accusations, and name-calling against a former customer leaving an honest, yet not-incendiary review. To refute his lies: 1) No one EVER called (over a year ago) and told me our prior service was "on the house". Ever. What a shock that a business representative would invent such a bald-faced lie. If a check had bounced, you (Chad) would have had your accounting team follow up with a reminder, which we obviously would have paid. How petty and low to invent a lie on a public forum (I am a private citizen reviewing a public company regarding TRUTHFUL transactions) about a customer "not being able to afford" less than $100- bill which is libelous, deliberately false, and potentially illegal. We live in the elegant neighborhood of Bixby Knolls and have invested in extremely costly home improvements over the past five years with nary a late payment to any of our contractors. If that were the case - that we never paid and "couldn't afford" our $77- bill - you would never have serviced our home a second time!! (And even if the case HAD been a circumstance of personal hardship, for you as a business to publicly shame/mock a customer is unethical, shocking, and again, a legal infraction of libel.) Shame on you for lying to defame an unhappy former customer. That move right there - in addition to your nasty public name-calling - is showing the true face of this business. Oof. 2) If I had been told I would be charged $195- for one drain cleaning PRIOR to my service, I would have obviously said NO THANK YOU; there are plenty of other plumbers in the community. I was basing my rehire on prior pricing/experience. 3) I never "threatened" to leave a negative Yelp review as a bargaining tool; I was TOLD my charge by Edwin AFTER his service, and upon my expressing confusion that the charge was nearly triple what I had been charged the prior service (which was the same one-drain-cleaning), Edwin then stated that he would attempt to orchestrate a discount based on the disparity of what we had been previously charged versus what he charged us POST-service. We WAITED to pay until we would receive notice of said discount, obviously. I left a voicemail stating as such after a month and never received any return voicemail (your bad...) except the follow-up bill mentioned in my original review. When I called a second time to ask if my circumstance had been reviewed, I was then told by the woman on the phone that nothing would be done; THAT was when I told her I would leave an HONEST negative Yelp review as an action of "duty to warn". 4) We HAVE indeed paid you a $95- payment for this current service as partial payment by my husband in good faith while awaiting the price adjustment that Edwin had told us would most likely be forthcoming. 5) How on earth could I have known that Edwin might tell a story that he apprised me BEFORE he began work that my charge would be $195- ? As I wrote my original review, I obviously had no way of knowing he had ostensibly said that until you wrote that he did. And he stated AFTER his service - when he told me his charge and I THEN showed dismay that the price had nearly tripled since my one prior drain cleaning - that he would attempt to obtain a discount due to what I had been charged prior. He did not seem dishonest and quite frankly, given your ("Chad's") delight in obfuscating the truth to punish an unhappy former-customer with character assassination and petty name-calling, no one would even believe that Edwin lied to me by saying he told me his charge would be $195- for one drain cleaning before he began work. Why on earth would I be upset about the charge if I had agreed to his $195- charge prior to his work? That is downright nonsensical and I don't have time for nonsense. I ONLY have time to post on Yelp for either only extremely positive experiences to boost the profiles of business professionals of superior excellence or for the converse, to warn potential customers from experiencing negative business interactions and/or shady bait-and-switch practices and customer-character-denigration and libel like you engage in on display here. My positive statement regarding my experience with Edwin still stands. If he ever decides to get wise, go rogue, and step out in business for himself, I would hire him. Let me tell you, I am immensely happy out of all the plumbing companies on Google, that my wife chose Beach Plumbing. They were professional and communicated each and every step as things were happening. They were prompt each morning they came. The work is top notch! I was able to see any and all issues in the pipes. I got to see the camera view which was pretty cool. They removed pieces of a broken snake that was there from a couple decades ago. Their tenacity was impressive. Then, their technology. They used the usual snake and HD camera but the epoxy to basically rebuild a worn pipe without having to tear into the floors inside the house was crazy. They ran the camera back thru and the pipe looked like a new pipe again. The owner, Chad, came down multiple days to make sure his guys had what they needed, which is unusual for most companies. All his guys we're great. But, I have to give HUGE props for Robert. He may be young but his professionalism and awesome work ethics puts him a cut above the rest. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Chad, for the initial discussion of the work I needed done on my house, which was built in the late sixties. You can tell he was raised in the plumbing business and with a mentality of doing the right work and not trying to up-sell you on uneeded items. Like many of the houses in my area that recently had sewer lines rupture and pipes fail, my plumbing was on its last legs. Chad was great about walking me through alternatives to the expensive and destructive half-fixes suggested by other companies. Together with their sister company, Olson Plumbing (same family), they have the tools and knowledge to do the big jobs themselves so you don't have to worry about paying more for subcontractors you have never met. The Beach Plumbers were pleasant and answered all my questions. They also worked hard every day and - as my old house surprises with unexpected challenges for any construction project - kept working hard till the job was done right. Don't hesitate to bring them out for a qoute, you can be assured of getting the job done right. I invited them out to check out our sewer line, which gets perennially choked with fine roots. Edwin was meticulous about providing a diagnosis and outlining solutions. Some other plumbers provide snaking/hydrojetting services and a separate camera service. But this makes no sense, according to Beach Plumbing. You need to know what the problem is before you can attempt the appropriate solution, and you need to know whether that problem is solved before you declare mission accomplished and leave. Their combined camera and treatment service was just a little more expensive than our prior plumber's treatment-only service. In our case, the clog was within the city's section of sewer--the few feet between the property line and municipal sewer in the middle of the alley. So Edwin called the city water department out, waited around for them to come, and acted as a liason with them after they showed up. We never would have figured this all out without Beach Plumbing's help, and will use them in the future. I don't think every city is as responsive and takes responsibility like Long Beach, so your mileage may vary. But if you hire Beach Plumbing you are more likely to be interacting with an experienced plumber with knowledge of local circumstances. read more

I recently called Beach plumbing for a drainage problem at my house in Cypress. I originally requested a Hydro jetting and Matthew came out to inspect, he recommended to send the camera down the sewer line to make sure the pipes can handle the pressure and it was clear that the pipes were clogged and old, so he crawled under the house did a visual inspection with his camera and found the pipes are old and falling apart Hydro jet would just break them all apart. He recommended a minimum of partial drain line replacement and after they started that project they found more deteriorations so I approved them to re-do all the sewer lines under the house. Alex came out as the lead plumber with a couple other technicians. This company does not do any shortcuts even if you ask them they won't do it. They connected all my sewer lines from the fixtures all the way to the clay pipe at the front yard. He sent another lead guy Fabian to see if the guys needed additional help or materials. When I went into the office the next day to pay the bill, I bumped into the owner Chad and he took the time to talk to me and thanked me for my business. He was super cool guy very humble. I met everybody from the front office to technicians and the owner and they all seem to be on the same page, and work together as a team! I've used many many many contractors and this is the first company that has ever exceeded my expectations! Long story short we chose their "pipe burst" trenchless method. At first I was skeptical of how they could possibly replace 50 foot sewer line with just two holes! Yes I said two holes! They were able to pull a new line in through the old 1950s clay pipe and pulled it through from the other side giving me a brand new pipe as it were dug up! Couldn't be happier that my entire garden was saved from destruction because my husband would have gotten the worse end of that stick! This has been a few months coming. We had a great experience with this company. Our home is decades old and as to be expected, we had had leaks spring up over the years. One area of concern was our sewer main line. We knew eventually we had to get things fixed. Though we are not well-versed with plumbing lingo, after looking into three nearby plumbing companies, we were very thankful to find Beach Plumbing who put our minds at ease. Edwin came out, explained what needed to be done, and gave us an estimate. They made the work understandable and after seeing all of their five star reviews, decided to go with them. They just inspired confidence in us and seemed more competent in their work than that of the other plumbers. They are not the cheapest, and they will tell you that, but, that being said, we felt they did a fantastic job and worked with us however they could, their work covered by a good warranty. All the plumbers from Beach Plumbing that came were polite and professional. We had about 33 feet of new sewer main via trenchless liner technology installed. Our cast iron sewer line under the garage was also replaced with abs plastic and reconnected to existing clay sewer going into the street. We also had descaling and cleaning done in approximately 25 feet of cast iron sewer in the slab going back towards the back of the house. I would not hesitate to recommend this company. read more
