A few years ago we had a huge plumbing project that Beach Plumbing did great, meticulous work on. They always did great work, were very clear managing expectations and the scale and scope of what we were finding and how to fix things. I was always impressed with how thorough and detailed the crews were. Recently we had a different issue, so of course I called them again. Their guys showed up promptly at 8am this morning and I showed them the problem (water leaking from a tub into the room below) and what I thought was the solution (loose drain -- cut through ceiling to fix thing). The guys spent a couple hours troubleshooting. In the end they found out it was just a loose pipe -- I was wrong and wasted their entire morning, and now they're refusing to even bill me a trip charge. These guys are careful, meticulous and ethical. 10/10 will call for any problems or projects. The Beach plumbing team just completed a pretty extensive job at my new property and they couldn't have been more lovely to work with. I was having a problem with my Navian tankless water heater. Navian sent me a list of contractors and i choose Beach plumbing because they were close to my home. Mathew and Tony responded within a day. They had to discuss the problem with Navian which is a long time and determined that the electronic display had to be replaced. The part was shipped to Beach Plumbing and Mathew followed up and returned and installed the part. Mathew is knowledgeable about these systems and is very conscientious. Cannot thank Edwin and the team enough for their quality service and above all, transparency and honesty in their work. We contacted 3 separate plumbing companies, and as per usual, our new place had more plumbing concerns than we had initially planned. Edwin had a comprehensive walk-through during our first meeting and estimate. The original company we contacted just showed us a picture of a "supposed" hole in our drain pipes, quoting us for an additional $15,000 to our initial contract to trench the pipes. No other option was provided even after we asked whether a trench-less repair was possible. Edwin was the complete opposite! He did the plumbing camera work live with us watching. He explained everything and answered any and all questions, which was particularly helpful for all of us who aren't plumbers!!! Their pricing is set and they truly went above and beyond to make sure our plumbing was taken cared of. We ended up only doing a trench-less repair because there was, in fact, no hole in our pipes. They also helped us move our laundry box outside, which was the original project to begin with. Our drywalls were then promptly repaired after the plumbing was done. Called to get an estimate on a hot water heater replacement for tankless and tank. They came out looked at my situation and even commented how nice my existing one was considering it was 21 years old it was in great working order. They explained the features of tankless and the maintenance which sounds like a headache so I opted to stick with a tank heater which was less than half the price installed as tankless. I asked when they could do the job and they said well we have a couple hours free now we can do it now. So they started to drain the old one and went off to get the new one and came back and installed it all in under a couple hours from estimate to install. They got it all up to code too since codes had changed in 21 years. Great work clean and quick. read more

When we returned from our summer vacation in Yellowstone, little did we know that we brought back Old Faithful with us as a souvenir. Within a month, our private geyser started erupting regularly in the morning, and our neighbors weren't too happy about this unnatural phenomenon. Harry's Plumbing got back to us half an hour too late. They arrived promptly and got to work right away. Despite three decades of experience, having a spontaneous private backyard geyser proves to be an uncommon occurrence. It took some detective work to realize that a previous owner decided to bury an ACTIVE network of sprinkler system UNDER the concrete slabs in our backyard. That's right, the sprinkler system continued to work under the concrete for years. Only now do we have a geyser formation. I guess geological features take time to mature. Kevin quickly isolated to source of the water and capped the entire system, not only shutting off the controlling timer, but sealed the pipe so our geyser will not erupt again. Richard was on a flight to visit his family on the last day, but he stayed to the end to make sure the job was done right. Kudos to this team of diligent professionals. read more

Our tenants mentioned that they smelled gas, so we called the city and they detected 4 different gas leaks and shut off our tenants' gas right away. We called Beach Plumbing right away and Edwin from their team came out to help us. I have never had a better experience with a company before in my life. A few weeks ago our drains were backing up...turns out the clay pipe mainline had cracked. We called Beach Plumbing to come check the pipe - they came immediately. They could see blockage and couldn't get the camera farther so they suggested the old clay pipe had cracked and they didn't charge us for the initial service. They came back the next day and dug some holes in our yard that confirmed the pipe was indeed broken. The cost to fix was fair and they spent the week replacing the pipe only to find it had 4 turns before it got to the sewer line...very odd. The guys, Izzy, Juan, Luis and Riche were amazing. They even stayed late one night before the rain started to get as much done as they could so we could use toilet, shower, etc. they came back as soon as the rain stopped to finish. Yessica was amazing as well with all the scheduling around the heavy rain. Would definitely recommend Beach Plumbing...they are very professional, reliable and reasonably priced. He gave us advice on how to resolve it even though there were no plumbing related issues, he was still extremely helpful. Disillusioned. I don't know what happened since my two 5-star experiences in 2016. I really don't because I swore by their professionalism, integrity and work. I have moved since writing those reviews but they were always going to be my "go to". It feels good when you find that. So I stopped having hot water and I called them... "Do They Want Business?" ...the person who answered the phone seemed disinterested. I explained that I am no longer in Long Beach now but moved to Orange County and they automatically assumed I was not in their service area, let me know and hung up. I had to call them back and ask "well, you have an office in Cypress. I live in Cypress. Do you not service the city your office is in?" The lady ignored the question, did not apologize and bluntly asked what I needed. She booked me for a time slot the next day, for which the plumber was late. A different lady from the office called to give me that update so I will say that was the highlight of the WHOLE experience. So the office is dissociated with the notion of doing actual business. But how about the appointment? "They Do Want The Business But Will Charge 2-3 Times the Market Rate for the Same Service" So in the field I got to meet a plumber who probably had a long day but was very professional about it. He was informative and made a quick assessment about my pilot light being out. The pilot light couldn't come on and so he gave me a few options, notably to replace the heater. He gave me two estimates--one at $3K and one at $6K--from the local office. Now, the most expensive water heater at my local Home Depot is $1.1K so you're telling me that labor is anywhere from $2.9K-$4.9K? That's a lot for labor (and profit). Mind you, this is for a single family home. This was disappointing considering the last two times I worked with them, I respected their integrity and fairness. This was anything but. So I got a second opinion. Another local plumber. Who was able to turn on the pilot light. For $135 (on a holiday). Hmmm. $135 sounds a lot better than $3K or $6K. Don't get me wrong, this plumber also suggested that a new water heater may be needed in the future. Their estimate? $1.7K. They could have presented that as the only option too. I can do math. $1.7K is a lot better than $3K or $6K. It's been over a week and half, and the $135 job is doing just fine for me. But hey, if I need it, I can go to my new plumber. SUMMARY: What I really loved most about Beach Plumbing is gone. Professionalism. Integrity. Fair pricing. I'm not saying they don't do great work. I'll be fair and assume it still is top notch. However, if you value those first 3 qualities be forewarned. I'm glad I saved almost $2K by not going with them. read more
