Love this place, especially happy hour. Tyler is an awesome friendly and efficient waiter. The whole staff are wonderful. I recommend the best clan chowder EVER!! I have eaten so many different types of clam chowder even in Washington, but hands down Beachfire clam chowder is the best. The prices are very reasonable in the regular menu. My hubby recommends the wedge salad, big portion with plenty of ingredients and dressing. We will be coming back for sure. read more

Sean was our server today. We sat at the bar. Completely different experience than two previous times we tried this spot. Everyone was really nice. Good food. I ordered the steak and eggs and my boyfriend got the buffalo cauliflower. Sean looks like he could make drinks with his eyes closed. He was on it. Checked in with us. We drove up to San Clem on MemDay Eve to hit the Outlet shops (worth the schlep) and to see/hang on the main drag. EZ drive from SD, even scored close parking to Ave Del Mar. Had stumbled on BeachFire before when visiting but didn't stop, thought we'd give the Sunday Brunch menu a try. Got a sidewalk patio table, Alyssa was our most excellent server (kinda favors Hailee Steinfeld or Dua Lipa if you squint) and got the CaliBurrito, Veggie Omelet, a cold beer and Sauvy B for a great afternoon nosh. Lotsa side pico & pickled jalapenos for the burrito, would get it again. Omelet had plenty of spinach and fresh chunky shrooms inside, delish! Live tunes coming from inside the bar, could hear it just fine and didn't overpower conversation. Decent prices too, especially for the OC. Give it a shot, ask for Alyssa!! read more

Not many places are open late on a Sunday night in San Clemente, but Beachfire was. Drinks were reasonably priced (not cheap, but not overpriced). The Beachfire Island Plate was good. A mix of beef and shrimp, cooked perfectly (very often, these two proteins are overcooked). The crispy calamari was good but came smothered in a sweet chili sauce, which killed the crunch. Better to serve the sauce on the side and let the calamari stay crispy. At $19, the portion was also a bit small. Staff was polite even with the place nearly empty. My girlfriend and our kids took the trolley down to the beach and on the way back up we decided to try out Beachfire. These times are crazy right now especially for us POC and I am always extra wary when I go out now. The ambiance felt like a total relaxing vacation. I felt like I was dining on the sand. The reggae playing was hitting. The food was very good we started with Calamari which was yummy. I ordered a BBQ chicken salad and it came out just how I like it flavorful and loaded. My girlfriend ordered their chipotle chicken pasta and it was also very tasty and not so heavy on the cream which I personally love. My daughter ate the kids quesadilla which was loaded with cheese and was very big Zoe was a huge fan! My friends daughter ordered the clam chowder which I didn't get to try.I'm a new mom so taking my 19 month old out to restaurants is so nerve wrecking but their outdoor dining deck saved the day. Here is the best part though, our waitress was amazing! Leah if you're reading this THANK YOU! Your customer service skills are top tier I'm a customer service expert myself and I can tell when someone is acting and when they're genuine. You are the real deal! We went to Beachfire after a show at the community theater across the street. We had reservations and got a table quickly, however we had to wait 30 minutes until the waiter took our order (he was pretty busy and they must've been understaffed for a Saturday evening). I ordered a pineapple express martini and asked to exchange it because it was too dry for me, and the waiter was happy to exchange it (I got a mango margarita which was much better, for my taste). We enjoyed the food very much. Everything came out hot and delicious. if you've been looking for the grumpiest, most rude waitress in all of America, I found her for you. She works at Beach Fire Grill on the outside patio. All I wanted was a beer. That was it. I saw play at the Cabrillo Playhouse and I some leftovers with me from before the play. I was waiting quite a while for somebody to take my order when decided to eat the taco that was in my bag. This rude, thoughtless waitress kept passing by me without making eye contact until I had to flag her down and she said in a rude manner "I can't serve you if you're eating food from another restaurant" and she stormed off like the ultimate Karen. She didn't bother have a conversation or anything. Mr. Beachfire Manager, She passed up a sale for god sake. I'm fairly certain that I'm not the first person to take the brunt of her nastiness. Second time here as we are staying nearby. Both times there was a band which we like but can be loud in limited space. The host noticed we wanted to sit in a more quiet area and gave us a great seat in back by the fireplace. Waitress was very friendly and attentive and the host checked back on us. What first stood out is the cozy wooden Polynesian vibes. I came here because a friend invited me to see a local band play (Sticks & Stones). This place started off a little mellow with a large Boomer crowd and over the course of the night the Gen Z'ers were filling this place up! Anyways, they have plenty of seating to choose from; a patio right on Del Mar, the bottom level/bar area and upstairs which I didn't get a chance to check out. We were hungry so we shared a poke bowl and sliders. The poke bowl was a little plain but the sliders were good. My husband went out on a limb and ordered a Negroni, not expecting it to be that fancy but he was pleasantly surprised they served it on a large whiskey cube as it should be. Made reservations and came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was a good call to make reservations- even in February! It turned out to be a sunny day and everyone was out. The parking down here is very limited so get here early and be prepared to circle and find a spot. I sat outside on their street patio and it was nice. People watching was a plus! I found this restaurant on Yelp, I am a little familiar with San Clemente. It is a nice city to visit, shop and dine. The shops and restaurants are not "big" chain stores, but rather, nice boutiques and owner-occupied businesses. Beachfire is open 7 days a week and have it all! Happy Hour specials Monday thru Friday; entertainment like karaoke (Monday) Taco Tuesday, and live bands on the weekends. The service was impeccable, Nick has been the bartender for over 20 years. He came out to greet us on the patio and take our order. Most bartenders stay back, but he was out in the patio "multi-tasking" and greeting customers. Edgar came by to check on us, I thought he was the server or maybe the manager. He is actually one of the owners. He asked where we were from and welcomed us. We ordered an Ahi Tuna sandwich and a chicken habenero flatbread. The sandwich had a generous portion of tuna and seasoned perfectly, topped with avocado. It was plated perfectly $19. The flatbread was delicious, the chicken was grilled, the spice level was medium. It had red onions and pineapple bits and a drizzle of Ranch dressing that added a nice and tasty sweetness $15. The restaurant has an upstairs level, a patio in front, and another outdoor patio at the rear entrance. This is a casual place, but not fast food, they actually service quality food with fresh veggies. Every time I come to San Clemente, it has been a wonderful experience. We were served ice cold water right after we sat down. The server came back to take our drink and food orders. Our drinks arrived shortly after ordering and our food came out not long after that. I ordered blackened ahi tuna tocos and my sister ordered a salad with grilled salmon. My tacos came with black beans and rice and all of it was quite good.
