Made reservations and came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was a good call to make reservations- even in February! It turned out to be a sunny day and everyone was out. The parking down here is very limited so get here early and be prepared to circle and find a spot. I sat outside on their street patio and it was nice. People watching was a plus! The service was excellent- so helpful and friendly. Helped with choosing meal and got the heater going once a breeze picked up. Attentive throughout. First time eating at Beach Fire Bar and Grill located in downtown San Clemente. My sister was visiting from Hermosa Beach and we had her dog with us. We walked by and asked if we could sit on the patio with our dog. We were told yes, so we decided to give them a try. The front patio was full so the hostess went to check if there was a table in the back patio that was in the shade. There was a table so we were seated in a nice shaded patio. We were served ice cold water right after we sat down. The server came back to take our drink and food orders. Our drinks arrived shortly after ordering and our food came out not long after that. I ordered blackened ahi tuna tocos and my sister ordered a salad with grilled salmon. My tacos came with black beans and rice and all of it was quite good. The ahi had a smoky flavor that I really liked. My sister thought her salmon salad was also very good. We each had a beer and were satisfied when we left. read more

We drove up to San Clem on MemDay Eve to hit the Outlet shops (worth the schlep) and to see/hang on the main drag. EZ drive from SD, even scored close parking to Ave Del Mar. Had stumbled on BeachFire before when visiting but didn't stop, thought we'd give the Sunday Brunch menu a try. Got a sidewalk patio table, Alyssa was our most excellent server (kinda favors Hailee Steinfeld or Dua Lipa if you squint) and got the CaliBurrito, Veggie Omelet, a cold beer and Sauvy B for a great afternoon nosh. Lotsa side pico & pickled jalapenos for the burrito, would get it again. Omelet had plenty of spinach and fresh chunky shrooms inside, delish! I have always loved Beachfire, but especially when Anesha Rose is singing. The drinks, food, live music and staff is always great. Had amazing service this weekend by Rachel and Alyssa and crew as they were slammed with others enjoying Anesha's beautiful voice along with some crowd participation on the harmonica and guitar. During an impromptu trip up to Orange County this weekend, we decided to make a stop in San Clemente on our way back down to San Diego. San Clemente is where my fiancée spent the later half of her childhood and she has a lot of memories here so we try to visit once in a while. We'd been to a few different places in the past, but had never made it to Beachfire Bar & Grill, so we decided to stop here first. We approached the hostess stand and I noticed that they had live music which I thought was pretty cool especially since it was just early afternoon. He was playing a variety of music most of which were covers of some great songs. I also noticed that the walls were adorned with artwork which I'm assuming was from local artists. We were seated at a small table inside and were promptly greeted by our server and provided with menus and water. While we had already snacked our way through the first half of the day, I still didn't want to leave without trying some of their food. While deciding what we wanted for snacks, we started off our visit with a couple of their craft cocktails. I had the rum punch and my fiancée had the bourbon blossom. Ordinarily I'm not a rum drinker, but when a place like Beachfire has been there as long as it has and they have a drinking claiming to be a local favorite, I wasn't going to pass it up. The rum punch was amazing and completely different than any other rum drink I'd ever had and I would order it again without hesitation. The bourbon blossom was also very good and was a little bit different than what I would've expected but both were good. For our round two I had the gin cucumber smash while my fiancée had a spicy cucumber margarita. These drinks were also well executed and presented and were what you'd expect from a beach-themed bar. For food we shared the spicy tuna bites and I got some coconut shrimp. Since my fiancée can't eat shrimp she had the buffalo cauliflower. The sizes were perfect and the quality and presentation were quite satisfying. We ended up not being able to finish all the cauliflower but it was still a great dish. Our visit to Beachfire was perfect and I would like to come back again on our next trip up. The drinks, food, ambiance and live music all brought the whole thing together and I would recommend stopping by if you're in the area. read more

This was a quick stop for us on our way to LA. We came on a Saturday, it was busy but not overally. It took some time to get our order taken but very casual location so that's fine. Our server was friendly. Food was ok. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, at first I wasn't sure if it had chicken because it was made with the chicken only really on one half while the other didn't have any. It was a bit lacking with filling as in felt like not enough, The homemade chips that come on the side are plain so a dipping is a must, very good. Husband ordered the Beachfire Island plate. Went with some friends on a random Monday and we were seated rightaway. The menu had something for each of us - i got the poki bowl (an appetizer, somehow.. its big!!), my boyfriend got fish n chips (which looked fire), and the other two got ahi tacos and the peach brie flatbread. The drinks were good too, got the lemon lavender drop and sipped my friends cucumber smash. LOVED the cucumber one. We have been coming here on a regular basis for 5 years, since moving here. Always reliable; you can count on friendly and efficient staff. In fact, I have to say I have never dealt w/ any server who was NOT friendly. This is appreciated especially by seniors because sometimes we feel invisible. Tonight we hWe often just as Sabrina, who was just great! We usually order appetizers, but tonight we ordered the fried chicken (split) dinner. The chicken was nice and crisp, oven fried; could have been pulled out of the oven about 3 minutes earlier. Loved the fresh asparagus and cheesy pimento sauce, also the mashies. My drink was always full as she was attentive but not annoying. Liked they included a bottle of water so we could top our glasses off. My wife ordered the bbq chicken salad. Had plenty of chicken in it as well as fresh ingredients. She liked thin fried onions on it as well. I had a crispy buffalo chicken sandwich. Very good tasting. Not overly covered in batter. It had many great ingredients, including a slightly tangy buffalo sauce. Perfect for flavor. The fries were shoe string fries. Tasted fine, but nothing special. Well I booked reservations here probably about 2 weeks ago to come with another couple and I assumed that this establishment was a restaurant more than a bar and when we arrived it was extremely crowded and there was extremely loud music being played. Not that it was a bad thing but it was just somewhere where you don't have dinner with another couple to where you can talk and have a relaxing evening. The food's great. I had the fish and chips. My husband had the vegetable burger and the other couple had the salmon salad and chicken flatbread. It's great food. Great service but it is definitely a bar scene more than a restaurant. Not that I wouldn't come back but I would come back during the day. Not at night time so if you're not into loud music, this is not the place for you. read more

I drove all the way from San Diego to bring someone here, because I loved this place so much the last time I came here. It was not...the same. The drinks were so bad. The margarita was served in a pint glass and made wrong. The cucumber drink had tasted strange. I think something was wrong. Maybe the garnishes were not fresh. Almost inedible. The manager greeted us and rushed the waitress over. We sat at the tables in-front for almost 10 minutes before a server came over. Even though there's a hostess standing by the door. The waitress didn't seem friendly. Calamari was ok. The only reason I'm leaving this review with any stars is because the band Rein was amazing and they're the only thing that kept us there.
