I went in due to pain on my upper left molar and turns out I needed 2 crowns! I've had crowns done before so I wasn't nervous but Dr Tara, dental assistants Susie, Jessie and Alize were so nice during the whole appointment! They communicated everything that they were doing, made sure I was numb and comfortable and even brought me a blanket! I left with both my crowns done same day :) The office even has a cool machine that does a 3D scan of all your teeth! Which was fun to look at! Would definitely recommend read more

I had been going to Beachside Smiles for years prior to Covid. I worked in Manhattan Beach and it was conveniently located near my office. During the pandemic, I changed jobs, started working from home, and no longer felt like it made sense to drive to MB for dental care. But you know what they say, a good dentist is like a good mechanic, never let them go. So I decided to make the trek for my teeth. However, the practice was taken over by two younger dentists, and I was a little hesitant at first. One session with Dr. Castillo quickly dispelled my concerns. The office has been updated, they use state-of-the-art tech to assess your dental health and Dr. Castillo is one of those rare dentists who doesn't judge, but truly cares about your dental health and wants your teeth to be the best they can be. The entire staff is friendly and pleasant and the office has a really nice energy. I drive all the way from the Hollywood Hills because it's worth it! Terrible. Just a racket. It's sad because the former dentist at Beachside Smiles was awesome. Then she moved and somehow these clowns took it over. All about money and trying to make you pay more despite insurance. I had an awful experience. Despite that my husband and kids went back. Then they had the same terrible month grab experience so now they have lost 4 patients. Loved Dr. Ana and Kathy. Sad they are gone. We have to find a new dentist now. read more

This practice is no longer run by Dr. Neihoff which is clear from the moment you talk to the receptionist. Most importantly, the office is lying to patients. They sent a letter out saying Dr. Ana is out temporarily, now months later, a receptionist leaves a message to set up your appointment and makes no mention of the fact she isn't there. So, I set one up only to find it is with some new doctor that I did not consent to. When the receptionist called to confirm the appointment, I asked if I would see her. She said I would be with the other doctor. She did not tell me she sold the practice. I asked if she was there. She said "yes." I then asked if Dr. Ana was still AT THE PRACTCE, and she said, "Yes." So, all of this leads me to believe that this doctor is not confident on his own and the misrepresentation seems illegal in someway to me. Not to mention, the receptionist has called three different times for the same thing -- after confirming an appointment, she left another message to set up an appointment and then called again to confirm an appointment. read more

I'm so happy I'm not the only one who had the same experience as the other person who posted before me. Dr. Ana and Kathy were the best! I was used to their service as I had been going to Dr. Ana for over 10 years! Unfortunately the business was sold to some other Dentistry and their crew came and took over. To say I'm utterly disappointed is an understatement. First, they used this new wazoo tooth picture taker thing that shows all of your teeth, magnified. The tech taking the pictures said I had a stain on one of my rear molars. The x-rays showed no cavities, but somehow I was bamboozled into being told the stain could possibly be decay and I needed my filling redone. Confused I had never been told about this before, I had to pay $117 out of pocket to have the filling redone, and scheduled a future appointment. Oh, and this was right before I was told I needed Invisalign which cost $5000 but my $2000 co-pay (for the year) would cover part of it. Which meant any future appointment I would have to pay out of pocket because my yearly co-pay would be exhausted. I have had braces before, and my teeth are fine! This place gave me such a horrible vibe, I asked (three different times) to get my $117 refunded. They are money hungry and don't care about their patients. BYE!! Taking my business elsewhere. Dr. Ana is honestly the best dentist anyone could ask for. After hearing my sister rave about how great her dentist was, I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Ana even though I absolutely hated going to the dentist and had not been in quite awhile. All I can say is my sister was absolutely correct! Dr. Ana is the best! It was such a pleasant experience that started as soon as I walked into the office and was greeted by Cathy (the receptionist) who is awesome and such a pleasure to talk to. I have gone back every six months for my routine cleaning and not one time have I had to sit in the waiting area because they are always on time with my appointments. Dentistry at its best. My hubby starting seeing Dr. Ana Niehoff because her office was located close to his work and he found her five star online reviews. Skeptic by nature I was a bit hesitant to change dentist but did so at the urging of my hubby. I am soooo glad I did. I've been seeing Dr. Niehoff for about 1 1/2 years now for routine cleanings. She makes taking care of your teeth easy. She is doing a crown for me now. I was dreading the crown and felt like curling into a ball and start rocking at the first sound of the drill but my fear turned into a big bunch of nothing under Dr Niehoff's care.... the process has been PAIN FREE. I'm going out on a limb here revealing my secret. Dr. Neihoff also injects Botox and Juvederm with absolute precision. No more long trips to Beverly Hills (sorry Epione Cosmetic Laser Center). I'm uncertain if Dr. Neihoff provides this service for individuals who are not patients in her practice but her gem of an office manager, Kathy could provide that information. Let me start by saying, I LOVE going to the dentist. I have loved it ever since I was young. Leaving the dentist's office with a mouth full of awesomely clean teeth is one of the best feelings ever! So, keep in mind that the dentist is already a positive experience for me when I say that Dr. Ana is hands down the BEST dentist to whom I have been in my entire life. She takes dental care to the next level. The receptionist Kathy is about the sweetest woman you've ever met, the new hygenist is KICK-A*# and Dr. Ana is truly one of the best out there. The office manages to feel BOTH homey and welcoming and yet completely professional. It is always SPOTLESSLY clean and smells wonderful. Every single time I walk in the door and I'm greeted with the beautiful decor and Kathy's smiling face I remember why I keep coming back. You're not supposed to looking forward to a enjoyable event when you go to the dentist, but when you know that Kathy in the reception will greet you in the nicest way, and that Dr. Ana will treat you using the best dentistry skills you've ever experienced, it does not sound so crazy anymore. (And if I'm crazy, at least I seem to be in good company based on what I read in the other reviews for this dentist office.) I also find that the conventional pain management is excellent on it's own, and since it's enhanced by Dr. Ana's great personality and sense of humor, you're in for a virtually pain free experience. read more

It was finally time for my checkup and I called and spoke with Kathy who could NOT have been any more pleasant! She emailed me the required forms and followed up to make sure that I received them. I went into the office and immediately felt at home. Very welcoming atmosphere and Kathy was at the desk greeting me like an old friend. This is the best Dental Office I have experienced in the Southbay. Right when you walk in the door you feel welcomed. The staff there is wonderful and make you feel at home. These impersonal dentists are also the ones who tend to not care if what they do is hurting. Dr. Niehoff is not one of those dentists. She is outgoing and friendly and tries to get to know her patients. She is also a very thorough dentist. She does not simply look at your charts and your teeth and leave.
