Melvin is awesome. He is always my favorite when I come here. Great service and he's knowledgeable and makes good recommendations and has good tips. The ladies who come there to work on projects are great, too! The prices could be a pinch lower but I'm used to buying in bulk so I'm spoiled. For small purchases though, they have a good assortment and it's convenient. The stone bead selection was the best I've seen it in a while, BTW. Their last buying trip was a good one! I visited the store after I met someone at Micheal's who spoke highly of it. I visited the store on 07/08/2020. This was a awful experience. When I entered the store I was never greeted although there is a loud welcome bell when you come in so I know I was noticed. Not a big deal , so I start walking around looking at the different beads and charms and after about 10 minutes I'm finally approached by the owner. I tell her I'm just looking and was referred here etc. I tell her I will let her know if I need help. Well that's when things got interesting. They have these trays marked with the different prices for beads that are unique and I had to figure that out on my own because nothing was explained to be before hand on how the store works. Here's the kicker , little did I know that the owner was profiling me. Everywhere I went in the store, she followed or stayed in very close proximity to watch my every move. At first I thought it was just me, so I went to the front of the store , just for kicks and boom there she was. Then I went to the very back of the store, and boom there she was. Literally everywhere I went I was followed. I was getting pretty upset and when I grabbed a few items ,(still deciding if I was going to spend money here but they had the items I needed for my waist bead business.)and walked to the register. I then confronted the owner stating" I would hate to feel like you profiled me and followed me around the store because I am black. She then put on this "I'm not the problem " act and kept apologizing. She then said "well at least you don't have to come back here and can go to discount beads or somewhere else. " Like how are you going to apologize and then tell me at least I don't have to come back to your establishment. She tried to give me examples of how she isn't racist but I didn't want to hear it! I told her ring my items up and she is lucky she is getting my money. This place is the worst and over priced. You can get a better selection for cheaper anywhere else in Vegas and a better experience. Bead haven is canceled and I will make sure to let everyone know about it! read more

RUDE !! I'm by this bead store at least three times a month because I shop at the vitamin store next door. I gave it a try one day because I make jewelry as a hobby and was looking for certain beads for a project. The woman I'm sure everyone keeps talking about was who didn't even say hello when I walked in. I thought she was taking a class until she answered the shops phone. Long story short ... I asked a question and she was snappy! It turned me off! I told her thank you and I left! Not good treating people like that ! I've shopped at Bead Haven about 4 times the past year and a half. I love the enormous selection! I find myself going back for their glass beads. I thought the staff was friendly, never had a problem. The beads I've bought proved to be high quality, and I'm satisfied with my purchases. That said, I do shop carefully, because while I do expect some mark-up in a store and I'm happy to support local, if the price is more than double what I can get online, I'll pass. read more

I went in to the store to find a seed bead to match the ones I had. I just started using my iPhone 11 and am not sure as to what it can do yet but somehow I turned on the video of my camera. The guy there told me no photos. I told him I wasn't. And started to walk out. I noticed a certain tickling that I have been looking for and asked to see them in a particular size and he pulled out the tray then said for me to turn off my phone. I told him it wasn't on and said turn it over and turn it off. I did to show him it wasn't on and of course it was. I told him it was a new phone and I haven't figured how to use it yet. He just stared at me like I was lying. I went ahead and purchased the rivolis but I will never go back again. I do not appreciate being treated like that. It's like they have something to hide and they are afraid they will be found out. I will for now on stay at discount beads and order on line. Karma is a great thing and it will hit them soon. I wanted to attach the video but there isn't any way to. After looking at it there is nothing on it that would show anything except a bunch of movement. This shop has some great supplies for jewelry making. Unfortunately every time I go there Milton is at best short and abrupt and at the worst down right rude. He gives me little to no answers walks away as I am asking a question and starts a conversation with other customers as I am asking him about something I am looking for. The woman is better but not by much. The nicest person in this shop was the super kind and helpful woman who doesn't even work there but is a teacher for them. I love the supplies but refuse to go back to be disrespected by the owners of the shop I am trying to spend money at. Too sad. There are not many shops like this here in Las Vegas. Absolutely could agree less with some of these posts. I walked in and was greeted warmly by two employees. Handed a bowl for my beads and findings and checked upon occasionally to see if I needed anything. Thats the service side. This is by far the best bead store in Las Vegas hands down. Ive been to others and they do not even compare. Bead Haven has a huge selection of everything you might ever need to make any type of handcrafted jewelry. This is such a fantastic shop. The owners are very sweet and the quality of their beads are the highest I have found in Las Vegas. They have classes, and are always quick to share tips if you have a question for a special project you are working on. Some people have mentioned that they received poor customer service, but I have never experienced anything but the most professional, friendly service at this wonderful store. I'm by no means an expert beader (I wish)! I recently got back into it after a 12 year hiatus, so I'm still gathering supplies. Ive been beading with beads from Michael's or Hobby Lobby, but I've really been in need of 15/0 beads, S-Lon cord (for my macramé), and a few other items you just can't get anywhere but a bead shop. A lady at work suggested a few shops in town, and this was one of them. I have passed it about 100 times while working and I've never gotten the chance to stop by, though I've wanted too so badly! Finally, on Saturday after work, I was finally able to go! I was so dirty from working (demo work on a house), I didn't care....I wanted beads! I go into the store with my idea/design book in hand so I know what I need to buy. The store was like bead heaven! So many beautiful beads, I really thought I had found a great place! There were several older ladies beading at the table in a class, a nice lady employee was assisting them all. There was also a nice man that worked there that did ask me what sort of beading I did, etc. He was very attentive and helpful, I still had a good feeling about this store at this time! At this point, my small cute basket they give you to shop with was overflowing with awesome finds (and I just came in for 2 tubes of 15/0)! I stopped to look in the display cases they have and saw some gorgeous bracelets, when I asked about them, I was told they teach those gorgeous designs in their classes! Now I am very excited to have found this gem! Right at the end of my shopping experience, I found these awesome square tile beads that I have never seen before. I had to have these, I don't know for what yet, but they are very cool! I also found the S-Lon cord for my macramé that I have been searching for.... score!! After getting the tile beads and cord, I realized I'm not rich... better put some of this back! So I did put back several strands of beads that I had chosen, and a couple tubes of beads. I had been saving for some time to go to a bead shop, money is tight so this was a major treat! I was happy with my finds and their prices (surprisingly)! I get to the register and the owner lady actually stops and asks me where the strands of beads and other beads were!! Wait....What??? I was thrown off! I asked her what she was talking about and she said she saw that I had more items earlier and she wanted to know where they went? I was extremely offended now, and I politely told her that I had put them back some time ago! Was she seriously implying that I was stealing from her store?? I'm pissed! I know I was dirty from my labor job, I know I dont look rich, and I know I'm not their typical "old lady beader", but I'm not a thief!!! I would never steal, I own a small business myself! I left this store feeling offended and disappointed! I was really looking forward to a friendly bead place for my hobby.... this is definitely NOT the place!! After reading the other reviews, I guess I'm not the only one. Guess I'll try some other local bead shops in the future, I dont think I feel comfortable enough to go back!! read more

I saw that bead haven was no longer @ the w.lake mead location, and thought " wow they closed thier doors, why am I not surprised. I was never so disappointed in a store owner. I really pity her, that she actually believes that this is the way your supposed to treat your customers! My fellow friends and beaders refer to her as the Wicked Witch of the west. 5 stars only because of Milton for his customer service. I've been here several times only because it's closer to me than the other bead shops here in Las Vegas. I was greeted every time by him and only him. He asked if I needed anything, and helps you pick out items for your product. Last time I went in there, one of the female employees was quick to just tell me they didn't carry anything of what I was looking for such as sports or fitness beads. As I went to register , Milton told me to look at a certain section and I may find what I need. Sure enough I didn't find what I wanted but it was sports beads/charms. I am not surprised they have only 3 stars... you will be lucky if , I'm assuming the owner even acknowledges you for coming in and supporting her shop. Even a 4 year old greets you with a smile or hello! I've never seen no more than 4-5 people in there at a time so there is no reason why each person that walks into that door should be acknowledged. Customer service is everything! I spend a lot of money at various Hobby shops weekly and I would think you would try to help and sell your products to customers... Correct me if I'm wrong but even if she was an employee I would think they should greet you and ask if they can help with anything. The shop is small but has so many beads to choose from and I do love the choices . Very organized and clean. Some of the prices on the individual beads are over priced at .50 a piece and I have seen same ones on a strand for 5.99 + half off at Michael's. Though I do love the individual glass pieces! ATTENTION, ATTENTION, ATTENTION.....the best find in Las Vegas! BEAD HAVEN is better than gambling! Just recently returned from a week in Vegas where my husband attended the Shot Show. I searched for bead shops and went around to the various stores to find the MECA of shops! Kim. Milton and Carey were extremely receptive went I entered the store. They made me feel at home and were willing and able to assist me with my new found passion. I had signed up on-line for a class and came in the day before to pick out my beads for the bracelet project. Even though I had never done the RAW technique they provided me the encouragement and a little u-tube homework. I took a class for the next two days and finished a gorgeous bracelet each day! They are so passionate for their beautiful jewelry it was a pleasure to work with professionals. Not only were they patient educators, but the enthusiastic cheerleading helped immensely. I was also greeted and encouraged by the locals that frequent the shop, I felt right at home. They are looking forward to my return next January........hopefully before then. I actually hated to leave. The shop is filled with beads so diverse, plentiful, expertly curated and they explain everything to the fullest. They don't want you just to go home with a bag of beads! I was greeted with a hello and asked if there was anything I needed help with. I did need lots of help because it had been a very long time since I did any beadwork. I have to give at least 3 stars just for the selection, which is awesome, but I have a problem with how the woman who owns the shop interacts with her bread and butter (customers). I feel she needs to be reminded that if not for us customers she would not have a business. Respect and consideration for the people purchasing items from your store should be NUMBER 1. If she dislikes her customers so much she needs to stay in an office or somewhere else where she has no contact with them. I was visiting Kas Vegas and shopped here one day and after a bit of a feeling of contention she lightened up a bit when I got a little peeved. I also went back the next day to get a few more items and she acted like she had never seen me before. Thank God for the man who works there and has a great helpful attitude, or I think this place would go out of business. It's hard to explain the feeling of discomfort when dealing with this owner, and I'm not sure I would subject myself to it again no matter how great the bead selection is. read more
