The space is beautiful, very bright with high ceilings. And the selection of pastries was impressive. Opted for a latte and a croissant. Both came out as expected in terms of presentation and taste, though the latte was not as hot as one would expect. They did provide a pager to notify when the coffee was ready. Waited. Waited. Finally walked over and after several exchanges, determined it was our coffees. I provided the pager and said it did not go off. The attendant then reached down and activated it. Nice. No apologies. Beautiful space but with poor service, I have no intentions of returning to this or any of the Small Victory Bakery's.

This was excellent. They also do the traditional strawberry as well. They also had the best cardamom bun I've ever had. Truly a must visit if you live here or you're visiting. Well, well. What can I say about this place. I'll go with... Terrible! The man, was it John? Who I am assuming runs this place is just downright disrespectful and rude and so was his wife. He spoke to me with such ignorance, I walked out of there in disbelief that someone trying to have a good name for themselves would treat a customer this way. What was even more shocking is it was not just me he was volatile towards, he was like this with the 3 other customers in the cafe! This place Is the worst bean around the world in Vancouver. I can't believe how John treats his employees. And the sandwiches are stale. They leave them out all day and when they don't sell, he refrigerates them for over 2 weeks and still try's to sell them. Also, the back of the store is infested with rats and cock roaches. We ordered our americanos, breakfast croissant, and breakfast sandwich and found a table in the courtyard outside the chalet-looking building of the café. There is small park in the courtyard along with about half a dozen tables. It was still rather early on a Sunday morning before 0930. It was quiet but neighbours were starting to emerge for their morning coffees, yoga stretches and dog walks. The americanos were rich. Good sign before we tasted our coffee: they were not served in mugs, foamy, and dark. Our croissant and English muffin sandwiches were pressed. My croissant had cheese and turkey slices with an addictive spicy jam. The English muffin halves of his egg and ham sandwiches were so pressed that they did not resemble English muffins. However, he said it was so good with its texture, greasiness and flavours. I think I'm going to get that next time.

Due to the neighborhood and the fact this is a very tiny food establishment I also would not want people coming in to use the washroom, customer or not. So be warned ahead of time that you will not be able to use the facilities :)

There's a glass and wall between the sidewalk and the patio so you don't get the whiff of smoke from the occasional smoker that walks by. I was hanging out at the shop the other day and noticed these two guys going to the patio but went back to the front because the furniture was wet (it rained earlier). I guess the owner noticed it, approached the guys, then had a worker wipe it dry so they could sit out there. This kind of service is rare nowadays.

The eggs were fluffy and light and the ham was flavourful, but not overly salty. The hot chocolate was delicious and was the perfect way to end my day. Drinks and food is more on the upper end pricing.
