I truly enjoyed the Peruvian Chicken Market Plate I got from the Yelp experience that was fresh and flavorful.  This time, although I went with a "build your own market plate" ($12.99), I basically used all the combinations from the Peruvian Chicken Market Plate except for substituting the plate's Cacique Grated Cotija, Roasted Corn, Overnight Pickled Onions with Roasted Buffalo Cauliflower and Kale Chickpea + Seed Salad. For BYO Market Plate, you get to select 1 base, 1 protein, 4 ingredients from curated sides (combos are 2 ingredients each), 1 garnish which is optional, and dressing that you can specify the amount such as medium. Again, the braised chicken was tender and tasty, all the ingredients were very fresh, and the whole meal flavorful and delicious.  Portion was large that I had leftovers.  Since it was such a healthy meal, I was not guilty getting an Andy's Amazing Chocolate Chunk Cookie ($1.49) which was gooey, comforting, and rich! Since I ordered online and had already paid, it was very quick and easy to pick up.  The eatery was bright, clean, and comfortable with a cheerful indoor mural of the town of Northbrook by the booths.  The place was pretty quiet at an off-peak time.  Staff were friendly and efficient. Just Salad offers not just salads, their extensive menu includes warm bowls, wraps, market plates, smoothies, and soups!  Prices are reasonable.  We are happy that  there's a Just Salad located so close to home!  We will sure keep returning to try other items on their menu!

WOW! To make a long story short, we got seated, our drinks, and orders taken, and after 15 minutes, our food was hot and piping and fresh. And it was tasty - my steak quesadillas and my mom got a house Cobb salad. Both were tasty and looked great. Our server Miriam was awesome with our orders, she came by to check on us and not too many times, and was there to help us with leftovers and leaving stuff. She struck a nice balance of not being there vs being here too often, so that's Ace's in my book. Since it was Mother's Day, it's crowded and a bit loud but not too loud where it was too obnoxious, except for a few people who had no manners at all on dress, but that's another topic I won't go to, for now. Tables, plates and silverware were clean, and one can still get around, even with one table behind us with a handicapped person, it didn't crowd up much at all - it was all very reasonably spacious. Definitely will come back here, though I do miss that older lady who was our server the last time before today, who was very nice - had a bit of an attitude to her personality but not too much to make it tasteless, some sass makes for an interesting day. Today, I visited for the very first time to try one of their vegan options. I arrived around 7:15 on a Thursday morning, and it wasn't busy at all. My friend and I were able to choose a cozy booth by the window. (By the time we left at 9:00, quite a few booths were filled!) The service was great, and our food came out quickly! The vegan waffle was generously sized and made fresh in the kitchen. It had the perfect texture--a little crispy on the outside, yet warm and chewy on the inside. There was just a hint of sweetness, so I hardly needed any maple syrup. The decor is very cool--I absolutely love the color scheme! Even the restroom was charming. When I walked in, I noticed a sign on the wall that said, "Hello Beautiful." Although it's a small detail, I also appreciated that the trash bin was placed directly beneath the paper towel dispenser and right next to the door. It's those thoughtful little touches that make a difference. I can't wait to come back and try more of their vegan options!

Though a bit obscure and hard to find, those who want a good sandwich know where to go. There is a curated selection of Italian, French and German sandwiches. This was my first visit so ordered a Cipriani with Italian mortadella, marscapone(!), arugula, pistachios and balsamic. It was the marscapone that sold me, but this was generously portioned and (let's be honest) messy for me to eat because the sandwich was piled high. I had to take half to go. I heard a few orders for the Gusti dal Nord (prosciutto, Gorgonzola, arugula and pear), and that sounds enticing as well. The bread is fresh and crusty. They had a tomato soup the day I was there, and I read on the website that they have pierogato -- Eastern European dumplings.

The interior is kinda gloomy and the music was loud and unappealing so it would be hard to have a conversation inside and there are two tables outside but they are right along the parking so, again, not appealing. The menu could be bigger and include maybe a couple salads or something else. We liked what we had but I think they need to do a little more to create a place that's really craveable. It's good to have a local sandwich shop option. It this place needs a bit more on its menu and a vibe inside to make it really something special for sandwich lovers.

It was definitely helpful to look over their menu online before we visited, because the menu board inside could be a bit overwhelming.  I guess I still looked quite confused when I saw 2 kiosks in front of the ordering counter.  A staff behind the counter offered to help, and I just ordered directly with him.  Later of the evening I discovered that he's the friendly owner Gus. After placing our order at the counter, we were given a table number, and our food was delivered promptly.  I ordered a Chicken Souvlaki Plate ($17.50 at the time, it's now listed online for $18), while my husband ordered a Filet Mignon Souvlaki Plate ($25.50).  Each souvlaki plate included a soup or salad, rice and potato (1 piece), a side of veggies, and pita bread in a paper bag.  It was a generous amount of food! We both chose the lentil soup, which was served piping hot in a nice ceramic bowl with a lid. It was flavorful and comforting. My chicken souvlaki was tender and juicy, never dry, and both the rice and potato were delicious. We were both impressed with the quality and value of the meal. I ordered a lemonade, which is considered a fountain drink ($4.00) and comes with free refills, though I couldn't even finish my first glass. My husband would have ordered a glass of wine if we hadn't had plans afterward, so we were happy to see that Grill House also serves beer and wine for a future visit. The service was another highlight. Everyone was warm and welcoming; a special shout-out to Kevin, who was very attentive and checked in on us several times.  When I was taking photos around the restaurant, the owner Gus greeted me again, which was a nice personal touch. The restaurant itself was bright, clean, and inviting. There's also a pleasant patio for those who prefer to dine outdoors. Fortunately, if going with friends that are looking for other options there's plenty of different restaurant options in this area of Deerfield. The bowls are filled pretty generously with a good amount of protein. Flavor combinations are good, probably the most savory feeling of the different similar concepts available. Service is quick and friendly, and prices are reasonable. Parking can be a challenge at times in this busy shopping center, so it's not a bad idea to get carryout outside of normal meal hours. Overall good choice if you're looking to eat healthy and tasty, without spending a ton of money for a filling meal.

I was so glad that I came across this place. This banh mi was tasty. The meat was cooked well and tender. The Serrano aioli glued the sandwich together. I want to come back and I will come back.
