This was truly one of the Top Ten meals I've ever had. The service was spectacular; every server I encountered made me feel like I was the most important VIP who had ever entered Beano's. But it is the food that will have me back again and again. A five-course masterpiece (truly) that had me speechless. From the light and breezy melon soup, to the fresh garden (right behind the cabin) salad, to a porchetta appetizer that was unreal, to the most tasty piece of elk chop (I could have eaten the porterhouse size pork dish, too), to an insanely fresh pie dessert - it was a pointed, deliberate series of choices by a chef who is a master. So far this place is horrible. I consider it a tourist trap that gets you with the sleigh ride. Appetizers/salad were horrible. A step below any soup salad chain restaurant. My girlfriend noted to the waitress that her salad was too salty and the waitress just picked it up and walked away. No apology. Our soup tasted like watered down barbecue sauce. And I usually love barbecue sauce!, but this was repulsive. Another reason to avoid Beano's Cabin is that I brought my own bottle of wine. I don't mind paying $20-30 corking fee but this place is so short sited that they won't allow you to drink what you choose. I advise anyone that appreciates good food, good drink, and good service to avoid this place Addendum. Just when you think it can't get worse. My girlfriends food comes out cold and her grilled vegetables are rock hard. My medium rare porter House was well done. When we complained we get BS excuses. Upon Arrival: We hiked to the top of the mountain. When I walked in the cabin one of the first things I noticed were the incredibly high ceilings- especially the one over the main dining room. While walking to the table we past the exposed kitchen prep station with twin brick ovens located on each side of station. There were about 10 Chefs hard at work, prepping, plating, and placing plates on the ledge in front of them in a very accurate yet graceful manner. The GM of the restaurant, Casey Kaut, was very inviting and led his staff very well, making sure that all of the food sent out was up to par. Food: 1. Roasted corn, and carrot puree. 2. Chef salad- beets, carrots, beans, asparagus, and vinaigrette with some sort of sour cream sauce which did a fantastic job offsetting the tannic-ness and acidic taste of the balsamic. 3. Pecan wood brick oven pizza a. Peaches, mushrooms, sausage, tomato, and mozzarella. b. VERY GOOD- light on the palate while the peaches absorbed many of the non sweet flavors in the pizza which made it much easier to eat. 4. Double cut elk chop a. Sat on a bed of creamed corn b. Lots of flavor c. Not too gamey d. Cooked three ways i. Sous-vide ii. Pan seared iii. Fire oven- Picked up LOTS of apple wood/smoke char 5. Apple pie with rum ice cream a. Definitely an experience that everyone should try once, but I don't think we will go back. The view is incredible. Food was ok - some choices were better than others. When you have a limited menu; however, I would expect everything to be excellent - especially at these prices. It was also very, very slow - long wait between courses. Maybe this will improve as the season continues. This was by far out most expensive meal of the trip, but from a meal perspective, just not worth it. Glad we went, but probably won't again. If you want an unforgettable dining experience, make a reservation for Beano's Cabin. My family has been coming to Beaver Creek for over 20 years, and so we've tried almost every restaurant in the Avon area. None of them are as memorable as Beano's. This was our 4th or 5th time visiting here, and not a lot has changed over the years. One thing that makes it unique is the whole process of bundling up for the sled ride. You do have to be prepared for this, because it can be pretty cold on the drive up. That's the next thing that makes Beano's so special: it's set in the middle of the mountain at night...when else are you going to eat someplace like that? Of course once you get there, they welcome you into the warmth with a roaring fire and complimentary slippers. The food is excellent (very nice presentations) and you never leave feeling hungry. The only thing that I could see being a problem for some people is the noise level; there is sometimes a live acoustic guitar player, so everyone has to talk over the music. But really, once the wine starts flowing, you don't even notice the noise! This is one of my few absolute favorites, so I'm happy to give it 5 stars. read more

WOW! Our entire experience at Beano's Cabin was fantastic! We decided to do the horseback ride up to Beanos from the stables. Our guide was attentive and friendly. The horseback ride was about an hour and was on a beautiful path up the mountain. We crossed over at least one stream while riding on a wooded path. My girlfriend and I are not experienced horseback riders but we felt safe the whole time. The food was excellent! We started out with soup and salad, which were both very tasty. I had rabbit ragout over pappardelle as an appetizer and salmon for my main course. My girlfriend had tuna tar tar as an appetizer and venison for her main course. My girlfriend was concerned about the meat being gamey but she said that it was not gamey at all. The food was prepared exactly as we ordered it. For dessert, I had a s'more and my girlfriend had a fruit and cheese plate. Throughout our dinner, our waitress was very attentive to our needs. We sat near the window and were amused by a deer prancing around outside. There was a musician playing live music, which added a nice ambiance to our dinner. Although the dinner was on the expensive side, we both agreed that it was well worth the cost. A shuttle brought us back to the stable after our dinner. I highly recommend Beano's Cabin! read more

Without a doubt, this was the most decadent and delicious experience that we cannot wait to repeat. From our bartender, DC to our server, Art and all the great staff in between, we felt welcome and completely pampered. There was no rush, no push, only a sense of relaxation. The wine and liquor were top shelf and the food (prix fix)was of the highest quality. We had fun talking with the staff and just trying all the little extras that they brought our way. Booked at Beano w/ 2 kids & 4 adults. One of our guests is deaf in one ear and I mentioned that in my Open Table reservation. We were at the first seating at 5PM and were seated in the middle of the restaurant 2 tables away from the live music, as the group in front of us sat at a quieter corner table. I mentioned this to the hostess and they moved us a little further away, but honestly as soon as the restaurant filled up and the guitarist started, you could barely have a conversation with the person next to you it was so loud. It wasn't the kids in the restaurant it was the music and just the way the restaurant is situated. If you were planning on a quiet romantic evening, this is not the place. The sleigh ride and staff on the ride were amazing and my kids loved that. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful and has great views. The food was average at best with a set course meal. Way too much butter on most items, including the polenta and a main scallop dish with scallops the size of dimes. My son and husbands steak were both ordered medium and were both not even pink inside and were way over cooked. Very good bread selection with to die for corn bread. Our server was polite and answered all of our questions, but there were problems. 2 of the salads brought out were incorrect but were quickly changed. I asked for light dressing and it had the same as the guest next to me, too much. They brought our soup dish, no spoons, they left right after they set them down and then we had to flag someone to bring us spoons. It just wasn't a pleasant easy evening as we continued to have to flag down staff for this and that. But when they charge 18% on tables of 6 and up, we certainly felt like they had gotten their tip and did not need to work for it at all. Before we even got desert the hostess asked if we wanted to ride the next sleigh down, we said we were still eating and to ask later. Felt rushed to turn the table. Oh, I very much enjoyed my ski-day lunch at this little ski-in restaurant on the Beaver Creek Resort property. You have to make reservations, and it's only available at lunch for Beaver Creek Resort Club members, so unless you're a homeowner/club member at this ritzy place, forget about lunch and opt for dinner instead. Upon arrival, you can change from your tight ski boots into a pair of cozy slippers and sit in front of the river-rock fireplace sipping on something and chatting with others until the rest of your party arrives. They have a full bar, and hot cider and cocoa awaiting you. I had a nice salad and a lettuce-wrapped brie and ham sandwich (gotta keep my ski-bunny figure) and some hot tea. My companions reported that their food was enjoyable, and the bloody marys looked fresh and nice. It's just so nice to have a real sit-down meal without having to keep your boots on and scramble for a table with the masses at mid-mountain. The food is simple, but very good, and served by accommodating servers who obviously enjoy working there. (Ski to work -- who wouldn't love that?). Unlike one reviewer who claimed that the food was "ridiculously expensive" I found it priced as you would find in a regular restaurant. If you want "ridiculously expensive," then go down the mountain and stand in line with the plebes for a $12 hot dog -- THAT'S ridiculous. And the food is good, fresh, a little inventive without being wild, and served with a smile. What more could you ask for? read more

The pork belly and truffle ravioli was excellent. The pork porterhouse, lamb and salmon were all good choices, and cranberry bread pudding was a table favorite Only issue was the extra 15% tip the server added to our bill. I originally added 20% gratuity to our bill but our server said he accidentally hit the "automatically add 15% gratuity charge to the bill" button when running the card. He mentioned he'd cancel the charge and re-run the card (I don't understand why he wouldn't he have done that in the first place). The service was good but not 35% tip good. Our slay ride was waiting and it was time to go so I let him keep the extra tip, which with 5 adult meals and 2 $100+ bottles of wine was substantial. The slay ride is a great experience, especially for those who do not get up onto the mountain to ski. All in all, a great place to have a meal with friends and/or family. This was my second visit to Beano's cabin. The first time was two years ago and I liked the experience. I cannot say the same for this visit. Here are the reason's I would not go back: 1. Ridiculously expensive for mediocre food, and most dishes have smoke flavoring in them. Is this a lack of talent, laziness, or inexperience on the "chef's" part. 2.Sommelier recommended two bottles of wine for our dinner. Both were awful, the poorest excuse for wine I have experienced. I have no idea why there are on the menu with so much good wine available. 3.Waiters, bus help, Sommelier bumped into my chair over and over again, never once saying sorry, excuse me....nothing. It was the most unpleasant dinner I have ever had. I was so annoyed. RUDE! My conclusion: Don't waste your money. $800.00 for 4. Not even close to being worth it. I have paid far more then this for 2 persons at other places, and it was worth it. Don't go! read more

Taking the sleigh ride to Beano's Cabin is an invigorating start to a wonderful evening. Dress warmly because it can be quite brisk and I would also recommend a balaclava because of the snow spray. Thank goodness for the hooded capes! Once you arrive, you can warm up by the fireplace, wearing the slippers they provide. The food is delicious, starting with the soup, especially the pork belly appetizer and the venison. I'd like to give a shout out to Dory, who cheerfully kept my water glass filled, and to Rick King, our server who was personable and attentive. This was my 3rd trip but not my last! read more

This is an experience more than dinner. We went in the summer and rode the horses. The dinner is a set 5 course deal and every course was good to excellent. There is no al a cart option. The soup and salad were amazingly good. I just went with a filet and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Plenty of other options from fish to game available. Dessert leans to the exotic over the traditional but all I tried were pretty good. The view around the cabin is great. The service attentive. The price is high but when you tack on an hour horseback ride with a gourmet meal it's really a great experience and it was fun. Our family really looks fwd to it annually. Note you don't have to take the horses. There is a van or a wagon ride. Pro tip. Before you sit down to eat grab a cocktail and head to the deck and soak in the scenery. Also. This place is great for families with well behaved children and for dates or adult groups. Some don't like the one man band live music but I enjoyed it and he took requests. read more

We were celebrating our anniversary and this was a perfect place to do so. The sleigh ride up was cold, but we snuggled up under one of the blankets provided and enjoyed the starry night. When you get to the cabin you go into a coat room where you can shed your boots, coats, etc and put on some dining slippers. Dinner was great. We enjoyed the bison sausage & ravioli appetizers, the wedge salads, tenderloin entrees, and the apple pie dessert. The dinner rolls were also delicious. This is definitely worth it and about the experience. Our party included my husband, 11 year old son and myself. The sleigh ride up the mountain is breathtaking. Matt was out sleigh guide both down and up the mountain and was great. The food was good and service was attentive but you can get good food lots of places. We had the venison, beef tenderloin and striped bass and were all very good. The deserts were standard but my husband really liked the cheese plate. The ride on the way down the mountain was as beautiful as on the way up bc it was a clear night and you could see every star in the sky. We decided to visit the great Beano's. The only seating available was 9:30 due to our large party of 10. We were brought up to the beautiful cabin in an open sleigh. This experience was amazing! Once there we were escorted to our table by a manager how seem a little tipsy! After having a very average dinner at most, we were greeted again by this manager whom was further enumerated upon our exit of the restaurant.
