If I could give a 1000 I wood (haha get it, a pun, intended!) I have used these guys, now for the 3rd or 4th year.... Always professional, on-time and best yet, the CLEAN UP! That was new this year, not that I cared because I don't stack, I pay them to stack and I wouldn't mind sweeping up some scraps.. but this time... ALL DONE! WIthin 30 mins nontheless... Bought 2 cords of woods from Josh last week. A cord to my house and a cord to my friend's house down the street. The guys who delivered it was punctual and quick at unloading the woods. After we stacked the woods we noticed we were missing a little bit on both houses. We took pictures along with measurements to show Josh that we were a little bit short on the woods. Josh immediately offered to make us whole with more woods. He then apologized and told me this is not the game that they play and he doesn't know why they were short to begin with. Everyone makes mistakes(employees especially) and as long as the business owner steps up and solves the problem then this is a business worth doing business with. These folks are the best. I burn a lot of wood, this year heating my small home EXCLUSIVELY with firewood, and I like their wood the best. There are local firewood places that sell wood for less, and probably BBF shouldn't charge sales tax on their delivery charge, but it's a minor quibble and I continue to come back to them because their wood is of the highest quality and I can count on them. Their truck is divided into cube spaces so you can see that you are getting a full cord or half cord. I have never felt shorted. You get a specified delivery date and approximate time, and can customize your order based on size, type of wood, and large/small mix. The driver & helper are friendly and professional, dropping the wood exactly where you want it. They might stack for you if they have time and you're willing to incentivize them with a little cash, but so far I do that part myself. read more

BEST FIREWOOD IN 17 YEARS! This was our first year ordering from Bear Bottom Farms since moving back to Marin. (The last 17 years, we ordered from the place my parents ordered from in the 80's and 90's.) They were very responsive. They talked me through why certain species of work were better for open fireplaces vs. wood stoves, and we're just super-helpful. (We opted for a cord of Almond.) Delivery was right on time, and their Delivery Driver was super helpful. The wood was well split/sized. (This has been a problem with several past years, where I would have to sort small "starter" pieces from the main delivery.) But Bear Bottom Farms' wood was really well-sorted and a perfect mix of the sizes needed. And now that we've had a few fires, we know the wood is really well seasoned and burns beautifully. So I just purchased a fire pit that prefers natural wood than Duraflame or the pine you get in a box from your local store. I didn't know this little detail before buying this fire pit. Luckily, I found Bear Bottom Farms and they're only 10 minutes away. From the pictures on the web, I wasn't sure if their wood would fit in my pit. I gave them a call and inquired about their pizza cut wood. After a few back and forth questions and answering, I found out their logs would work for our pit. She was so helpful and patient with me. I drove over there. I initially wanted oak but I'd have to wait for it to be cut. They offered Cherry wood that was already bagged and ready to go. Oh man! This stuff smells so good! I got a bag for $20 I think? If I had the room or set up, I would've bought a cord as I love having the fire going every weekend. These folks are pretty knowledgable and friendly. If you know what kind of wood you want and how much, you can call them ahead of time and it'll be ready for pick up. They'll load it into your car for you as well.
