Its what made us come back over and over. Unfortunately thats now how it is anymore. It is now some of the most sour overwhelming coffee from a coffee shop I've bought. My husband and I visited this cute coffee shop with our baby on a Saturday morning and we loved it! The coffee was great we tried the iced vanilla latte and the salted caramel latte which wasn't as good in comparison but still solid if you like salted caramel. It was packed, but there was additional seating on the side which was nice. I definitely recommend this coffee shop if you're in the area, the location in downtown mesquite is pretty cool with lots of stuff to do around there including restaurant and farmers market on the weekend. read more

Such a cute and cozy spot! The barista was super friendly and actually made conversation, which I love. The space is great if you need to get some work or homework done, or just want to hang out, read, or journal for a bit. (I do want to point out, that when it gets busy the first tables that get taken are the ones closer to the outlets.) The decor is seriously Pinterest-core, it's got that warm, cozy feel that makes you want to stay awhile. I got the "Oso Horchata Latte" with 2% milk and an extra shot of espresso, and it came out perfect! Definitely recommend this spot if you're in Downtown Mesquite looking for a good coffee and chill vibes! read more

Coolest coffee shop in Mesquite, close your eyes and pretend you are in the Rockies with fantastic coffee, great service, and a cozy place! The espresso is on point on a Tuesday afternoon. Quaint, cozy, little coffee spot. They have an array of seating arrangements and drinks! I didn't know what to expect when I pulled into the parking spot right in front of the restaurant. Do not let the construction prevent you from trying this place out! The coffee was top tier! I didn't have to wait in any line, the order taker was very kind, and I hardly had to wait any time to get my drink! I will definitely be back when it's a little chillier outside! I have loved this place literally since the day they opened. Today, however, was a miss. The place used to be cozy and welcoming, but now the tables make you feel like you're back in a middle school cafeteria. We've had an icy week, but they've been advertising that they were open, so I went. Other businesses on the same side of the street had cleared their sidewalks. Bear Cave did not. I very nearly fell on the ice and I saw several other customers do the same. I wish I'd taken a picture of the distinct line where the ice stops at the business next door. One of my favorite coffee shops in DFW, honestly. The staff is super friendly and helpful; the location is really cool (old historic downtown Mesquite), and there's plenty of parking. I always get a cold brew or regular iced coffee and it's always spot on. Plus they're merch is pretty cool. I was wearing the "caffeinate or hibernate" t-shirt when visiting family in New York City, and I had a friend of mine comment how cool my shirt was. Of course that gave me a chance to brag about the DFW coffee scene a little bit. read more

Eclectic local coffeeshop in downtown Mesquite serving coffee, tea, and snacks. Today I got the salted caramel cappuccino with oat milk (12oz) and was pleasantly surprised that it was under $6 after tax. (Some places are creeping over $8 these days!) Service was friendly, and the cafe furniture and decor is very interesting. Somewhat like an antique store crossed with a plant store. I've been here a few times over the years and have always had good experiences. Will be back again soon! read more

Please improve your iced coffees. They don't taste pleasant, and lacks the rich flavor of actual coffee beans. It wasn't my coffee that was done incorrectly, but overall the technique that you are using is what is making weak lattes overall. I hope this review helps you improve the quality of your espresso/beans/coffee shop in general. 2 stars because the atmosphere is eye pleasing. read more

Nice place with great service. This place feels like you stopped in your friend or family member's place for some down home service and ambiance. In one corner was a guitar player, another corner was housing a book signing, and then there were several other clients sitting at tables. This place is pretty large and even has two decent sized stages complete with stage lighting and all! The staff was super nice and the coffee is really good! read more

This place is cozy. First visit - tried the Teddy Graham Latte (with honey, vanilla, & cinnamon). It tasted wonderful. Decorations in here remind me of Colorado - wood, green, bears, soft lighting. This is a nice place to have a conversation, do some laptop work, read a book, or study. Seating by area: Front windows (4) - table for two, 2 chairs; main room (12) - 2 tables for two, 4 chairs near coffee table, tall table for four; ordering room (3+) - 1 chair, wall bar table for two, waiting bench by pickup. Not the same anymore. This used to be our favorite local coffee spot but they've changed everything. The coffee isn't good anymore. We've given it a chance twice since the change, thinking maybe they just burnt the coffee that day but nope, our drinks don't taste the same. They also went up on the prices and have only one size which would've been fine for us if the drinks tasted the same. The seating and decor in there used to be cozy but they replaced the comfy seating to fit more uncomfortable mass produced chairs and tables in there. I understand changing a few things for more profit but when you change everything, you're going to lose your regulars. read more

I just moved to the neighborhood and this place caught my eye. It's located in a great location in down town mesquite, this area has so much potential for development of small local businesses alike. It's bigger than I expected inside, the pictures online do not do it justice, there's plenty of space for parking too. The Teddy Graham Latte was delicious and reasonably priced, the customer service was great too! I loved that there's ample space for working on my laptop. There's also a space in the back where they hold Yoga classes three times a week. I love it! I hope more places alike begin to pop-up in this area! What a neat little coffee shop!!! I'm not usually in this side of town, but happened to be on a Tuesday and decided to stop into Bear Cave! I was instantly captivated by the decor: quirky yet meaningful signage, outdoorsy wall art/ furniture, and an assortment of colorful seating options. Once I got to the front, I opted for ordering one of their signature drinks that had dark chocolate and coconut in it but in a cortado size with oat milk and decaf espresso...it was unique and delicious! I could still taste the punch of espresso through the syrup and all the flavors came together beautifully! Plus, the owners were very sweet (we had a good 5 minute convo about music while I waited on my drink). If I find myself in Mesquite again, I'll definitely return to this spot! read more

Incredibly kind employees. Even the patrons were kind. Today was my first day in, and it was a little packed. One of the patrons behind me realized I might not have somewhere to sit and offered for me to sit with her if I needed to get work done. One of the employees heard that and immediately went into action and cleared a space so one of the tables would be open. It was at that moment that I knew I needed to write a review. Sometimes supporting great businesses is more about the product, but it's about the people you are supporting with your business. I'm happy to support this shop. The coffee is awesome, too. Located in the heart of downtown Mesquite, this little cafe is located in the lobby of a local theatre. I LOVED the bear theme for all of the drinks. They only had a limited selection of pre-packaged snacks during my visit and the plastic wrapped cinnamon roll was dry and none too tasty. The drinks were lovely however, and the staff was unbelievably gracious when my kiddo left a crumbly mess in our wake. I offered to clean our table and they helpfully offered to sweep everything up. What a find! Riding around DFW by bike randomly had us go by this place. Never much to tempt fate by entering a bear cave but had to take a chance here. I try to always get my cup of latte at the smaller coffee shops. Was out in Mesquite and noticed this gem. It's across the street from the big Wells Fargo bank so look for it. Seriously it's one of the best coffee shops I've been in around the lower 48. It's cozy, they have separate rooms for conversation, or just get in the rocking chairs and read. I didn't have anything from the menu to eat but if it's as good as their coffee, the pastries should be great. The taste of the coffee was fresh and the skim milk was whipped to perfection. The baristas were friendly, the place had a lot of folks on their laptops and the conversations around the place weren't loud. No one shouting into their cellphones. We have seen the little coffee shop over in downtown Mesquite multiple times. We decided to stop and give it a try. The atmosphere was quaint and comfortable. The people including staff were very friendly and helpful regarding the different coffee flavors. I was very disappointed, however. My coffee was very foamy sweet ... But had absolutely no flavor of coffee in it at all. I felt like I was drinking hot sugar Vanilla flavored water. I noticed all the other reviews are good. I'd like to give the coffee shop another opportunity. I thought maybe they just forgot to put the espresso in But my husband had a drip coffee and it was flavorless also. (I put some of his coffee in my cup to see if it would perk it up) I'm a very big supporter of small local businesses. However, I do expect to enjoy what I'm paying for. read more
