I was really impressed by El Portón. I got a cortado and a beef empanada. Both items were priced reasonably and were very well done. The cortado was one of the best I have ever had. The staff were friendly and the ambiance was solid with plenty of seating. My only complaint was that the wait time on both items was fairly steep (maybe 20 min). Despite the wait, I fully plan on coming back and would call this one of the best coffee shops in Dallas.

I met up with a co-worker here for coffee recently. It's a quaint little shop on the corner in a strip mall on the northeast corner of Garland Rd and Buckner. It has a lot of character, obvious from the moment you walk in. The colors, the plants, the openness of it - it makes you feel like you're at your neighbor's house for coffee! I love the living room look, with mismatched seating, along with a small area for the little ones to keep occupied. I tried a muffin, which was very good. Smaller than other shops. Later I purchased a raspberry danish to take home, which wasn't near as good as it looked, but not bad. The staff member behind the counter offered to heat it up for me. My latte was fair, I'd probably just stick to regular coffee next time. It's a nice place and I will return, go try it for yourself!

I love visiting unique coffee shops, and this Salvadorian spot is becoming one of my favorites! Not only do they have some distinct flavors/syrups, they even serve fresh pupusas on occasion! I got the Buñuelos Latte which was different for me, but it was so so good and the syrup was house made! The staff are also always very knowledgeable, and make you feel at home. This spot may look small on the outside, but it's rich in culture and truly a hidden gem!

I got the iced lavender latte which was good but nothing special in my opinion. I also got the western empanada which was good, but again nothing super special. The space is really cute and cozy. Tons of spaces to sit. The barista was also kind!

I really loved this little coffee shop. The vibe is cozy and cute! I loved the decor and color scheme. They had a decent amount of seating in my opinion and a couple nice sized tables for a group of 4. The servers were kind and the food/drinks were good. I'd definitely visit again!

Iced vanilla matcha, iced vanilla latte, beef empanada and chorizo and egg empanada

This is my favorite coffee shop in Dallas hands down. Really good coffee AND matcha which is hard to find a place that does both that good. Also the empanadas are sooo good. I need to try everything cause I have yet to be disappointed

If you're looking for a delicious coffee shop, El Portón is the one for you! I had to go back for their Horchata Cold Brew. We also tried their empanadas and pupusas and chocolate pastry. They were a 10/10. The inside is spacious and feels just like home. & the staff is super sweet and always makes sure our drinks taste perfect!!

I'm glad I stumbled across this hidden gem of a coffee shop! Had no problems with parking as El Porton Coffee is located in a plaza. The inside is beautiful! Lots of plants and personalized decor. There is a decent amount of seats for both work/study and socializing. The baristas were very nice. I ordered the Tres Leches Coconut Latte. It had a great flavor, although if I had to nitpick, I wish there was just a tad less milk. I would definitely come back again and recommend others to try this awesome coffee shop!

Cream cheese + calabaza pastry, calabaza latte, beef empanada

el patron is a lovely café. the owners are kind and the decor is cozy. definitely loved the bites and drinks. i ordered the summer nostalgia.. kinda wish the apricot notes shined through more, but the espresso was smooth and very easy to drink. i am definitely adding el patron to my coffee rotation because who needs starbucks when you have a locally owned and beautifully styled coffee shop like this!!! #ditchstarbucks

I really enjoyed my 12oz taro latte with oat milk ($6.50) and beef empanada ($4). Cafe area was clean and comfortable. Service was a little slow since they were pretty busy, and some of the staff seemed new or in training. Also a little disorganized - my friend paid for a pastry and was told about 7 min later that they were actually out of the one she ordered. Love the variety of drinks and food available. Would definitely come back when I'm in the area!

This is a quaint little place! It's very clean and the gals working were nice and quick making my coffee. I really enjoyed my mocha latte (with skim milk). What a treat! I'd recommend this coffee shop if you want somewhere to go to study or read!

It was a great experience!! I took a few minutes to review the speciality menu. I selected the Salvadoran Horchata cold brew with oat milk. I enjoyed it because it was not very sweet. The spice was good!

I went to visit their original location on Northwest Hwy. conveniently located right next to the Dallas Police Northwest Division. Fun fact: did you know that they have a roastery next to their original location? How amazing! However, that one is by appointment only, so check with them for more details. Shoutout to the White Rock Coffee staff for welcoming us back with open arms, as well as introducing new drinks to us that were of high demand and interest. One, however, that really did catch my eye, was my all time-favorite: the White Rocker, which included two shots of espresso, whole milk, and their signature White Rock syrup. My friend on the other hand, got the Lone Star Latte -- chai with a hint of that White Rock syrup that they put in there as well! Because of their roastery, all of their coffee beans are sourced from local partners and cooked and roasted right here in the heart of Dallas. I'm just really glad that I was able to really catch up with the times that there are, honestly. I'll definitely be back to visit more whenever I'm in the DFW! Y'all have my support! :)

I went on Tuesday and was a little disappointed. I got a tea and sat downstairs but immediately I was FREEZING. I decided to go upstairs because I thought maybe a vent was blowing directly at me, but no!!! It was seriously so cold everywhere. A girl next to me was rubbing her hands together and blew into them just to keep warm. I mean, really? It was kind of funny how crazy cold it was. I expected to be there at least 3 or 4 hours since I had a lot to do but I left after 30 minutes. I wanted to go outside to sit down at one of their tables but not a table was in sight! I guess they got rid of them? I'll come back... with sweats on and a beanie! Not even trying to be funny I'm being so serious
