My friend and I stopped by right before a menu restock, so options were a bit limited during our visit, but we still managed to find some great treats. Plus, the chai tea drinks were on point! Stumbled upon this cute little coffee shop in Downtown Rowlett! When I walked in, the barista at the front was immediately friendly and super helpful. She even let me try a seasonal item that hadn't been released on the menu yet! I got an iced sweet potato latte w/ maple cold foam and omg... TOO GOOD! This spot has lots of seating and gives a nice cozy vibe. And there's a nice vintage store, and tattoo shop right next door. If I'm in the area again, I'll be stopping by! read more

Omg! This place is a GEM. Got the iced almond latte - winner. I can tell the beans they use are quality. I love almond flavor but it can easily overwhelm a drink/dish; they got the balance just right. Just a hint of almond, perfect. I was there before noon for a little pick me up and four of their signature items were already out of stock. I *will* be back, but earlier in the day so there's more available. It's a telling sign that they make everything fresh daily and sell out almost every day! I also got a churro cruffin. I've never had a cruffin but it's essentially a croissant in a muffin tin. Holy crap it's delicious. Thousands of flaky layers, the inside is perfect and soft, outside crunchy and sweet. They're dangerous. I also found out they sell loaves of their freshly made bread during the week, and on the weekend they also sell things like English muffins. I'm 100% coming back for some of those. I really like this place. I went out of my way to visit but it was so worth it. I also love that it's minority owned and some of their menu items reflect that. Saw this little shop on Yelp. It's on a main travel path for me and I love coffee shops and pastries. Interior was cute but small. Limited amount of tables. Available pastries are in a display case at the counter and I must say they all looked good. I got a ham and cheese croissant, churro cruffin and a package of English muffins. $15 for all. Ham croissant was ok except it had the tiniest piece of ham I've ever seen in a croissant, no cheese that I could taste or see. See pic. It was decent if it were a plain croissant but it wasn't. $4.50 is too expensive for an inferior product. English muffins were ok. Not sure I would return, a couple other shops around the corner are more reasonable and tastier food products. Service was friendly. read more

Been wanting to try this place out for while. Brought my dad today for coffee and dessert after a late lunch at Boroccos a few doors down. We had coffee and he had the last Raspberry cookie. I wanted one but, alas. :( So I got the Brown Butter Chocolate Chip. He said his cookie was pretty good. Mine was just ok. I think it might have been a couple days old. Wouldn't get it again. Now my dad just had plain ole black coffee but, I wanted to try the Turkish Latte and it was FABulous. I could have drank them all day long. YUM!! I will be back for another for sure. Used to take business meetings from here until recently. The coffee is extremely gross and nasty now. It is worse than starbucks. They serve a folgers like grocery store brand coffee they recently switched to now. It used to be counter culture which was great. The coffee cups are very terrible looking chinese food containers instead of normal plastic cups that they used to be. Pastries taste quite terrible and not worth the price. You can taste and see its very cheap ingredients and extremely dried out. I've also seen them keep their pastry boxes laying on the floor (so gross!) and wide open with flies all over them in their rack (nasty!). Really miss the old shop that used to be here the "Modern Well". Since this new "LA Casita" shop moved in its been very bad management and down hill. Really miss the emporium pie and pastries that used to be here, and the DRINKABLE COFFEE. read more

Yes, there are Electric Vehicle Chargers 1 block to the east from La Casita, along sidewalk. From behind La Casita, drive east. Or, in front of La Casita, go east, enter the traffic circle, proceed back west onto Coyle Avenue, the chargers are along sidewalk. Incredibly hot & humid day, feels like 111° I was filming a Great White Egret as it hunted for fish, but it was slow day. Heat drives most fish into deeper water, away from shorebirds. Got on my bike to look for historical markers & sites, ran into a statue of Mark Twain in front of the Rowlett, TX town library on Main Street, only half a block east from La Casita! And, an Iced Coffee came to mind, but when I entered the shop, the chilled bottle of Topo Chico brand mineral water was the go-to play. Staff was pleasant & helpful. They said they had a busy morning, but it was slow since 11AM. Well, 3 clients were here, working on their laptops. I had the mini sofa to myself, with power port on the wall, getting recharge on my phone. Plenty of powerports in La Casita! Now I'm watered-up, and charged-up! This place has amazing reviews and unfortunately it is giving the wrong impression. First of all, a simple drink like a cortado is made horrible. The coffee is very light and bitter and the milk is just frothed and thrown on top not even a try at latte art. The table is dirty before I sat, now I am not the type of person to complain that there is a straw wrapper on the table but when I came in the barista was on his phone while the table is dirty that is laziness. He told us that the croissant was filled with a Carmel filling and it was not. The Turkish latte was good I would finish the cup. Overall 3/10 go honestly I couldn't wait to leave. This place is such a treat! I've been wanting to eat their beautifully crafted pastries and was able to do that today. We had the everything all croissant, the churro cruffin and the almond croissant. I loved them all. I'm usually not a fan of savory food in the morning but I have to say that I will be back for that everything bagel which I didn't order for myself but for my mom (my mistake), as it is perfect. The croissant is very rich and not like other places where it's just almonds on top of a croissant. The churro cruffin was so good, loved the cinnamon sugar and also the cajeta/dulce de leche inside. It wasn't too sweet, it was just how it needed to be. In all, I loved what I had, but I hate that I could be putting in some weight because now I want to come back for everything else, just kidding. Really into this place! We had gone a few times before when they first opened and it was meh but decided to give it another shot since one of our fav places closed and I'm so happy we did! It's a small shop in downtown Rowlett with super cute decor and a walk up counter. All the baristas are extremely welcoming and the drinks are FAB. I usually get the classic iced almond latte (which isn't too sweet) and the hot Turkish latte (this one rules!) for my husband. I like the concept of La Casita. You can grab coffee, pastries, bagels, and sandwiches here in a really cute place. There is a good amount of seating inside and outside. My cousins and I ordered the horchata cold brew, a drip coffee with sugar free vanilla syrup, and the Turkish latte. I had the horchata cold brew and wasn't too impressed with it. It didn't taste much like a horchata. It was bitter for the most part, and I needed to add sugar and cream to adjust the bitterness. I also ordered 2 ham and swiss croissants, a churro crufffin, and an almond croissant. The churro cruffin was the best. Who doesn't like a sugary pastry? The ham and swiss was average. It was a bit on the dry side. The almond croissant was alright as well. I thought the inside would have more of an almond flavor, but there were more almonds on top. The guy who took our orders wasn't so pleasant like he didn't want to be there, so the experience wasn't so great. The box you get with your pastries was a nice touch and really cool. Maybe I can try La Casita another time and maybe the experience will be a lot better. read more

A wonderful replacement to the previous Modern Well establishment (which I also loved)! I've been to La Casita's restaurant location and this coffee shop is a perfect sampling of its bakery offerings. Pastries are deliciously flaky and decadent. Enjoyed the ambiance of this shop on a Saturday morning. It's very small but welcoming and the back porch outside is perfect for soaking in the great pastries while reading, working, or catching up with friends. The churro croissant/muffin (I forgot what its called. Croffin maybe?! Idk but it's soft and flaky and soooo delicious! I'd go back just for the pastries! The coffee was decent but the cold brew wasn't as strong or flavorful as I would have hoped. I just tasted very strong cinnamon from the horchata. My husband got an almond latte with almond syrup and that was pretty good, too sweet for my liking but it did have good flavor. I love almond so it was tasty in that sense. Cute place. Great vibe inside with plants and wood decor. Very small seating area but it is called casita for a reason. Daughter had the chai tea latte and likened it to the cereal Cinnamon Toast Crunch (which for a teen is a good thing ). I wanted a vanilla latte but they were just out of vanilla so I tried a lavender honey latte. It was good, not great but good enough. Server was sweet and kind and helpful. They had a variety of milk options but not coconut milk which what I was hoping for. I enjoy supporting local businesses so I'll be back. I admit that the coffee is good, but not great- I've had two Lavender Lattes and while I would have one again I cannot say I'd write home about it. The banana muffin was dense and flavorful, a great start to my morning. My absolute favorite baked treat was the flakey, aromatic chocolate croissant. They sold out of most of their baked goods during both of my visits, and I have no idea how these croissants were still in stock with how delicious they are! read more

I was sad they were out of the highly recommended horchata cold brew but I really enjoyed the Turkish coffee latte I had in its place. The mango bar I had was insanely good. I definitely want to go back and try more pastries (and finally get my hands on that horchata cold brew!). The service was quick and efficient and the ambiance was good. I could definitely see myself chilling in the coffee shop for an hour or two and it's located in what appears to be a small but charming downtown area (downtown Rowlett). read more
