Giving a 5 cus I love this place and dont want to mess up the ratings but someone needs to tell you guys this for your own good. SLOWEST. SERVICE. ON. EARTH. If there's 3 people in line, be prepared for 20-25 minute wait. Took 7-8 minutes against the counter for the worker to sort out 2 drip coffees the other day. Unfortunately, I haven't tried their baked goods (yeah, I know) but I have tried their sandwiches. They're ok, I guess. My boyfriend got a double meat and double cheese sandwich, and I got a panini. The ingredients were fresh, but the small size of my boyfriend's sandwich was surprising considering it was $8. My panini was good, but the one I originally wanted (the Aye Caramba, I think) they had ran out of the sausages for it, so I had to pick the other panini they were serving. You would think if they ran out of ingredients, they would immediately take it down from the menu... and I was told that I was the second person to ask for it, so it's no excuse. The service... eh. I think a new girl who was in the middle of being trained was taking our order that day. She was friendly and told us about how they made their goods fresh, etc. There was also another woman who was walking her though how to process orders and to make thai teas. I guess the new girl was still getting used to things because she only made one thai tea when we ordered two. Also, the woman was attending her also took the order of my boyfriend while ignoring me. Uh... ok. Everything seemed to be a little disorganized and hectic, honestly. Maybe we just came on a bad day? I would come again, if only for the baked goods. Seriously though, I could eat 3 with a black coffee or a glass of milk "Fix it Jesus!" *Phaedra Parks voice* The donut itself is slightly more dense than a traditional donut but the toppings are delectable. I picked off a piece of bacon when no one was looking and it was perfectly salty, sweet and chewy. It might have been crispy earlier when they were made but we were advised to call in ahead and reserve a few because Bear Claw only makes a dozen every morning and the earliest we could come was 10 am. Everything else in the bakery looks so-so. I didn't really like their stuffed Cronuts or sticky bun that much and the bear claw was okay and the buttermilk coffee cake was more crumbly than I thought it would be but still good. read more

Just finish trying Bear Claw Bakery's pizza. We got half Margarrrita and half C-Bear. Along with some O' So Good Tots and it was delicious! I come here every Saturday to get my sons favorite donut and the pizza didn't disappoint. The staff is great ever since we discovered this spot. We live downtown so now that we know they have pizza for dinner and it's approved by my pizza expert/ninja turtle pizza fanatic 2 year old. It's going to be our new go to dinner spot for pizza. The pizza dough was really good and the toppings were flavorful. I highly recommend the Margherita, it has a twist to the original Napoletana. This is another gem here in Pinole! Its a breath of fresh air to see the employees enjoying what they do. They were super nice and generous as well as knowledgeable! They make everything in house. Their baked goods are delicious and will have you dreaming about being in France or some country in Europe! The owner and her husband were there and they were super nice and welcoming! My daughters were very happy with their food and they asked if we can make this our regular cafe to visit once a week. Hahaha. Their sandwiches are amazing an the bread is so fresh. I might be biased because I used to work here, but I still think it's the best bakery in the area. I've been coming here for decades, even before I started working there. All the food is made from scratch, the pastries, donuts, and cakes are all top notch and made daily. The bread is made on site for all the sandwiches and the coffee drinks are pretty good too. It's a great little place in Old Town with a small town vibe. Despite that they do have some very new creations such as cronuts and maple bacon bars. Ordered a half sheet cake for a Star Wars themed birthday party and it was totally delicious! It was a layer of vanilla, raspberry filling and then a chocolate layer. The butter cream frosting was not too sweet and very creamy. I had a specific pickup time and the cake wasn't ready. But they made up for it by delivering it right to my door! What customer service! I will also add their iced white mocha was delicious. They actually use freshly made whipped cream. This is a great little mom and pop place to support. It's not just a regular pastry shop, they make amazing cakes, sandwiches, salads, gumbo, breakfast burritos/regular burritos, etc. Any special occasion? I always come here to get the Fruit Basket Cake. Three layers of soft cake filled with whipped cream and fresh fruits! It's absolutely amazing! The service is always friendly, no matter who's at the register or in back. Your always greeted by everyone in the shop, even the other customers. So I went to meet a friend for coffee and decided to hit this spot up instead of Starbucks .... sometimes there coffee taste Burnt but this coffee shop is cute inside pretty nice staff but o bought a black coffee and it taste like water and I got a bear claw inspired cronut. I've been here twice. We had a raisin snail today. There's a small and a large snail. Our large snail was rather flat and not very substantial and the flavor was a little too salty for me. For two dollars, this pastry was just okay (it's like paying two dollars for a slice of raisin bread). In the past, we had the bear claw which was very generously stuffed but unfortunately too sweet for my taste and didn't have enough texture for my hubby (he thought it was too mushy). It's a nice family bakery but the problem with a small bakery is that it has too little selection and runs out of items fast. My mom introduced me to this super cute bakery. It has a small but delectable selection of pastries. We tried the Cronut, Bear Claw, and the Maple Bacon Bar. They were all super delicious. The dough of the maple bacon bar was airy and light it wasn't heavy like others I have tried. The Cronut was delicious I loved the filling inside, it was different from others I have tried. It's a local shop, so it has a very homey feel. The bread is so soft and fresh - they make it from scratch! My breakfast sandwich had lots of flavor - I didn't need to add any condiments!
