Finally have mochi donuts near home and a good boba place that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. We ordered milk tea with boba and a Nutella donut. The drink size was perfect. It wasn't gigantic like other places. The milk tea tasted creamy, and yummy. The donut has the right amount of chewiness. During our visit, my daughter spilled a little and the girl was really nice about it. She offered paper towels to help clean up. The place has a few tables for sitting and hanging out while drinking, if needed. After my friend and I had lunch in the area, we decided to stop by here to get our Milk Tea fixings. The shop is cute and small, and they have all their mochi donuts on display. For me, I chose three of them, as well as a milk tea option. Raspberry Funnel Cake: This is the only one I personally tried and I will say it was quite delicious. After paying, I looked at the menu again and decided I also wanted to try the tanghulu. When I went back up to order it, the cashier sighed loudly, pointed at me, and said "Which one do you want?" in a rude tone. It made me feel uncomfortable and like I was being an inconvenience just for placing another order. Customer service really matters, especially in food service. I understand places get busy, but there's no reason to treat customers with attitude for simply ordering something from the menu. I came here with my niece for a quick lunch treat. She really likes this place and wanted to go here. She ordered the blue takis whole mozzarella and horchata drink. The ambience of this shop was small, but very cute and the customer service was great. I got three mochi donuts for $10 (funnel cake, Matcha, and biscoff) and a mochichurro ball. The funnel cake mochi donut was my favorite and I honestly could've done without getting the rest. The desserts weren't old, but they didn't necessarily taste fresh either. I don't eat meat, but I saw a lot of people with their hotdogs and they looked amazing. Warm, chewy, and good flavors at every location. This 5/5 rating is for the korean corn dog specifically!! Service is fast (have to wait a tiny bit for the corn dogs since they're fresh!) and the lady who owns the store is so sweet! LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE KOREAN CORN DOG. Specifically the potato half and half corn dog at this location. The potatoes on the outside were PERFECTLY crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I peeled one off to figure out what it was and I could literally eat those by themselves. They almost have the same texture as small tater tots. After I took my first big bite of the corn dog, I was pleasantly surprised! The corn dog batter was so light, thin, and crispy! I stopped my friend mid conversation to tell her that the corn dog was so good. Second best corn dog is the hot cheeto corn dog but it just wasn't as crispy as the potato corn dog. Sooo many options for sweet treats in our part of West Contra Costa County, and the newest addition is Mochinut in Pinole. My husband and I just had dinner across the street at the pho spot and took a chance to see if they might still be open after their normal closing time. Luckily they were gracious enough to sell us some yummy donuts and the owner even added a couple extra, which was so nice of her! We've had mochi donuts from SF Japantown, Berkeley, Oakland, Concord, Santa Clara, and even a small independent baker in Hercules, so we're no strangers to this dessert. Even at the end of the day (and next day) the donuts were soft and chewy. The toppings weren't overly sweet, and I could've used more cinnamon sugar on the churro ones. The mochi donuts with icing are so much better than the plain sugar dusted ones. I also wish they were warm and more soft/ fluffy.

I've always shopped for my donuts and drinks since they've opened this establishment. Never had any issues with the food or drinks or with the establishment in general. I did happen to see a bug in my drink once I got home and almost drank it. Hopefully it never happens again since the people there are very kind. We visited the Mochiyo yesterday (Thursday) around 3 PM. I was there with my young granddaughter, and unfortunately, we had an unpleasant experience with the cashier. While my granddaughter was trying to get some sauce, the lid on one of the bottles wasn't secured properly. As a result, the sauce spilled. She immediately said, "I'm so sorry, Mama," and I reassured her that it wasn't her fault and we would clean it up. When we informed the cashier (who appeared to be the only staff member at the time), she responded rather rudely and told us, "Don't squeeze the bottle too hard." I explained that my granddaughter hadn't squeezed it hard at all--the lid was just loose. The cashier then walked over to the sauce counter to clean it, but we had already taken care of the mess ourselves. The experience left us feeling uncomfortable. Accidents happen, especially when things like sauce bottle lids aren't secured properly, and I wish the situation had been handled with more kindness and understanding--especially toward a child. read more

Definitely had better tasting Mochi Donuts elsewhere. Prices are extremely high for a "rice" donut: - $3.75/each !?!?!!!; - $10.00 for 3 !?!?!; - $18 for 6 !!?!? - $34 for a Dozen!?!!! One & Done - Will NOT be returning due to crazy high prices. At least they do offer a small discount the more Mochinuts you buy, but still feel like they are very overpriced for what you get. The Fancy Smancy Box definitely does not make up for the lackluster flavor of the donuts. ALL EXPENSES have been spared on the screens displaying their menu.... Pictures & wording on their menu displays are extremely small which makes it very difficult to read. Way too many items on each of the menu screens for the display's size. I was about to drive all the way to Berkeley to get a Korean corn dog and saw that this place was closer to home. Figured let's check it out and saw that it was the same one as Berkeley. Yay ordered a half and half original and three donuts. My son ordered a half and half hot Cheetos and we were so quiet while eating our corn dogs because damn it was hella good! The only down size is the dog is just a plain dog... I wish it can be something meatier than just a mystery chicken hot dog. The mochinuts are great! Not sweet to the point you feel overwhelmed with sugar. The chocolate is bitter dark chocolate, I could literally taste the chocolate, not milk and sugar mixed together! The donuts were good but there were only 5 toppings when I went in. I got 6 donuts for $19 which is pretty pricey and I had to cross a bridge to get there which meant another $7. I didn't try their mochinut donuts as I came in the evening and they didn't have much to choose from so. I did order the Ube boba drink and the only reason why I took off a star is because instead of having different options to choose from like almond or soy milk they have all their drinks premade with just whole milk. I did end up just buying the ube boba drink with whole milk but I probably won't be back as whole milk just messes up my stomach.
