I was in the neighborhood and was looking for a coffee and something sweet. I had driven by this place and decided to give it a try. The place is small and quaint and had very nice looking pastries. I had ordered a Mocha and a Maple donut. Both of the gals worked there were both friendly and helpful. I had also ordered a Cherry turnover. Can't go wrong with anything you order here to be honest! Located in Pinole, you can either park in the street or there's a small parking lot in the back. What I like about this bakery is that when you walk in, you're greeted immediately even if they are busy with customers. Came here during quarantine and unfortunately because of everything that is happening, you can't eat your pastries at the store. They have a special's sign along with their menu posted up clear and easy for customers to view. Food: -Their pizzas are all freshly made which is awesome and totally delicious! The Grizzly bear is to die for and great to share if you have company over. - Their tacos are insanely delicious! I highly recommend getting the adobo tacos. The pork is cooked perfectly and the tacos when you bite in to them, it's not as messy which is great! - Their tater tots are really good if anyone likes tater tots. Can't go wrong with any of their tater tots, though I do prefer the Oso tater tots. - I'm not much of a sandwich/panini person, but I must say...I will eat them from here! I usually get the Squirrel which has pesto, tomato, avocado in it. It has the right amount of avocados and pesto that it tastes so delicious! - Pastries here are delicious ! If you like originality and flavor, this is a place to go to. Last but not least, they are KNOWN for their bear claws. I have never had a bear claw until I came here. A friend of mine was surprised I never had one, but to be honest...I'm not much of a sweets person. BUT i will eat a bear claw from here because it's SUPERB! Been living in the area 10 years plus but it was my second time here. Since I liked the pastries i decided to try out the pizza later on the day.Overall everything was Amazing top it off with the service they're very friendly. I loved supporting local Business. I would recommended to anyone. But however, my only concern is while I was waiting I noticed the lady's that was making the sandwiches she did not wear gloves. Everything with Covid that just finish people are still kind a apprehensive about little things like that..At least I am! I stop going to Kinders in Hercules cause they do the same not wearing gloves while preparing my food. Hopefully with this they can make some changes. read more

One of the best donuts in the area!! So many delicious flavors to choose from and I haven't had a bad one yet. If you're done hiking around the trails or biking, stop by with your friends or family and try them out, make sure you get there on time though, they close around 1pm. Happened to stop at this during my last week visit to Pinole. Was very hungry and craving for some sandwich after a long drive from South Bay. This one was the closest that showed up on yelp search. It was my first time in Pinole, I had no idea about the town either. Since it's in downtown, I struggled a little with the parking, then figured that there's a nearby parking area for the customers. Had to wait for a few minutes, there were couple of customers ahead of us. Very small bakery, but cute I would say. A few tables inside for dine-in. The lady who helped us was very friendly. She suggested some of their hot-favorite sandwiches / paninis. Ordered Gobb Father, The Ricco, Latte, hot chocolate and their special bear claws. Another 10 mins of waiting, the hot paninis were ready. Her suggestions were terrific, we enjoyed the paninis. The Gobb father was damn good, and The Ricco was a total surprise. Literally smashed it. And one of the best bear claws I have had. Loved it, not just me, I bought it for my friends and they enjoyed it as well. It's a small place, but delicious food. We really enjoyed it. I ordered a Charlie Ross cake for my fiancé's birthday, and it was so delicious. The cake melted in your mouth and stayed good for at least four days of leftovers I ordered it about 3 days in advance, and they were so helpful. When I picked it up, I also got a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, and it was perfect. Decided to give this bakery a try since we were nearby and heard good things about it, but ended up being disappointed. The pastries here are a little bit different, instead of flaky, buttery and light, it was more of a dry bread texture with flavor only from the toppings. When we ordered we asked for a cheese danish, but ended up with a custard danish. Lastly, the apple fritter dough was not baked thoroughly which we were very disappointed with. 20+ years living in the area and I finally went here. Smh I been missing out!! Ordered a breakfast sandwich. Made to order, fresh eggs cooked in the back. Ordered the strawberry and almond rocka cronut. SHEESH! Fire, would def say strawberry was my favorite. Coming back here again but from time to time. Need to condense consumptions on sweets. Bear claw has been my go bakery. The filled cronuts are delicious but today I was craving for an old fashioned donut. Just a bit more dense than regular donuts. So I couldn't wait when I got in the car, stuck my hand in the bag, and the donut was so soft it fell apart. Very disappointing . The pieces are now all over my car. Not only do they serve amazing homemade pastries, they do breakfast sandwiches as well as regular sandwiches and paninis as well. They also do pizza during certain times ( Wednesday-Saturday from 5p-9p). What I like about the menu is that some of the items off the menu are bear themed which also makes this place unique. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. They have this buttermilk coffee cake that is so delicious and is one of my go to things to get when I'm there. Great place! Under new owners, previous were good too...New owner has added some exciting new items! (See picture of chalkboard with today's items) tired the chille rellenos! They nailed it. Great taste and texture. Grabbed bear claws (how could you not!), cranberry muffin, scones- raspberry and blueberry (why choose get em both!) Cinnamon roll.... They are all absolutely terrific. They obviously take great pride in their bakery, as any bakery artist will do! Opens typically 630 a.m. and he said he says open till food is gone..haha typically like 2ish but stays open longer as long as people coming. The pastries are great, the coffee drinks are pretty good. The food is ALWAYS hit or miss. I alternate between two sandwiches, sometimes they don't want to grill the onions, sometimes there's too much spread (messy). One time they microwaved the egg and my stomach was upset all day long. I couldn't eat another thing the entire day because I was queasy and afraid of it not staying in. I've never had or noticed that the egg was microwaved. I don't understand, the sandwich is outright nasty sometimes. Just stick with a recipe, everyone should cook it the same way. I shouldn't cringe when I see that a particular person is making the food. When I see this person, I cross my fingers and hope that they aren't cooking. I won't order any more sandwiches because that particular experience was outrageous. I inconvenienced my job because I as away frequently for the restroom. read more
