My husband and I love Bear Claw Bakery. It's a fantastic family-owned bakery that's been supporting the community for over 60+ years! We come in for the strawberry, cream-cheese filled cronuts, the cinnamon buns, and a mocha. TBH, everything is yummy. There's also cozy seating inside. We even got our wedding sheet (strawberry and whipped cream) cake from Bear Claw. Our guests demolished it and everybody complimented how light, fluffy, and fresh the cake was. I was in the neighborhood and was looking for a coffee and something sweet. I had driven by this place and decided to give it a try. The place is small and quaint and had very nice looking pastries. I had ordered a Mocha and a Maple donut. Both of the gals worked there were both friendly and helpful. I had also ordered a Cherry turnover. What I like about this bakery is that when you walk in, you're greeted immediately even if they are busy with customers. The pork is cooked perfectly and the tacos when you bite in to them, it's not as messy which is great! - Their tater tots are really good if anyone likes tater tots. Can't go wrong with any of their tater tots, though I do prefer the Oso tater tots. - I'm not much of a sandwich/panini person, but I must say...I will eat them from here! I usually get the Squirrel which has pesto, tomato, avocado in it. It has the right amount of avocados and pesto that it tastes so delicious! - Pastries here are delicious ! Been living in the area 10 years plus but it was my second time here. Since I liked the pastries i decided to try out the pizza later on the day.Overall everything was Amazing top it off with the service they're very friendly. I loved supporting local Business. I would recommended to anyone. But however, my only concern is while I was waiting I noticed the lady's that was making the sandwiches she did not wear gloves. Everything with Covid that just finish people are still kind a apprehensive about little things like that..At least I am! I stop going to Kinders in Hercules cause they do the same not wearing gloves while preparing my food. Hopefully with this they can make some changes. read more

Happened to stop at this during my last week visit to Pinole. Was very hungry and craving for some sandwich after a long drive from South Bay. This one was the closest that showed up on yelp search. It was my first time in Pinole, I had no idea about the town either. Since it's in downtown, I struggled a little with the parking, then figured that there's a nearby parking area for the customers. Had to wait for a few minutes, there were couple of customers ahead of us. Very small bakery, but cute I would say. A few tables inside for dine-in. The lady who helped us was very friendly. She suggested some of their hot-favorite sandwiches / paninis. Ordered Gobb Father, The Ricco, Latte, hot chocolate and their special bear claws. Another 10 mins of waiting, the hot paninis were ready. Her suggestions were terrific, we enjoyed the paninis. The Gobb father was damn good, and The Ricco was a total surprise. Literally smashed it. And one of the best bear claws I have had. Loved it, not just me, I bought it for my friends and they enjoyed it as well. It's a small place, but delicious food. We really enjoyed it. I ordered a Charlie Ross cake for my fiancé's birthday, and it was so delicious. The cake melted in your mouth and stayed good for at least four days of leftovers I ordered it about 3 days in advance, and they were so helpful. When I picked it up, I also got a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, and it was perfect. Decided to give this bakery a try since we were nearby and heard good things about it, but ended up being disappointed. The pastries here are a little bit different, instead of flaky, buttery and light, it was more of a dry bread texture with flavor only from the toppings. When we ordered we asked for a cheese danish, but ended up with a custard danish. Lastly, the apple fritter dough was not baked thoroughly which we were very disappointed with. One of the best donuts in the area!! So many delicious flavors to choose from and I haven't had a bad one yet. If you're done hiking around the trails or biking, stop by with your friends or family and try them out, make sure you get there on time though, they close around 1pm. Great place! Under new owners, previous were good too...New owner has added some exciting new items! (See picture of chalkboard with today's items) tired the chille rellenos! They nailed it. Great taste and texture. Grabbed bear claws (how could you not!), cranberry muffin, scones- raspberry and blueberry (why choose get em both!) Cinnamon roll.... They are all absolutely terrific. They obviously take great pride in their bakery, as any bakery artist will do! Opens typically 630 a.m. and he said he says open till food is gone..haha typically like 2ish but stays open longer as long as people coming.
