Okay, so why didn't I find this sooner? Because this place is so good! Very nice staff, cafe is very clean! I'll definitely come back here. I got the combination banh mi & the grilled pork with peanuts, both so good! I did order the bbq pork as well but it wasn't for me, but I'm sure everything on this menu is good! The taro smoothie & honeydew both amazing, not too sweet! Will be my go to spot now!

People line up to buy lotto tickets, boba, bahn mi, or scratch offs from the machine on the right.

The owner was very nice and patient because it was the first time we ordered a sandwich. She was like the friendly, caring auntie after our order was ready, reminding us to call in sandwich orders so that our wait at the store won't be long.

I've never been here before but it's right next to my sushi place that was closed. Tasty sandwich! Fresh. I would have liked more veggies but not a biggie. Not sure if you can adjust the sweetness on the milk teas because I usually get zero sugar. So, yes it was sweet! Service was good. Nothing to write home about.

Local 1 stop shop, family owned & versatile ! Whether in the mood for breakfast or lunch Sammies on bagel/croissant/bread/roll, donuts, bagels, croissants, boba, coffee & now banh-mi ! Sammie's are freshly made & donuts are fresh made daily ! Counter service is quick, friendly & personal ! Counters & tables available, small but not crowded, noise level is ok, area is neat not cluttered ! I came to try the banh-mi... selected the tofu one... tofu was freshly deep fried, thin slices lined top & bottom of the roll which was soft inside yet crunchy on outside ... I requested extra pickled veggies but was surprised to find Mayo had been added resulting in a soggy bread ! Next time I will ask for no mayo but extra pickles & cucumber! Also this cafe accepts the Hercules Yiftee giftcard aka Shop Local !

Cafe Tapioca now serves Banh Mi Sandwiches. Instead of going to Pho Craze or Pho Hoa I can just go to Cafe Tapioca to get a Banh Mi. The BBQ Pork, BBQ Chicken, and Grilled Pork is good! I love how my sandwich was made. Michelle did a good on having Banh Mi on the menu.

Cafe Tapioca will put Hercules on the map. I've been coming to Cafe Tapioca since I was in high school, and it just keeps getting better and better. The customer service is great. They are always so pleasant and warm, even when they are busy and moving fast. I used to come here for the donuts and avocado smoothie, and now they have the best banh mi sandwiches that I have ever had! Today I got the grilled pork banh mi, my mom got shredded pork, and my sister got tofu. Each one was incredible! I was surprised in the difference in flavor between the grilled pork and the shredded pork. The grilled pork was a little sweet, while the shredded pork tasted almost a little smoky, and I might be wrong, but I think it may have some shredded pork skin! Everything in the banh mi tasted so fresh; the cucumbers were wonderfully crisp, the pickled veggies nicely tart, and the house-made bread was perfectly crisp on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside! I am excited for my next visit, where I'll be trying the pate and steamed pork banh mi

This review is solely on the Banh Mi sandwich. After seeing multiple raving reviews from our fellow neighbors and Yelper, I tried it. Unfortunately I can only give it a 3 star. The bun is way too thick, not airy and not crispy. There wasn't any devil's ham spread. On the positive side, the meat was good and a descent amount, the pickled veggies were delicious, which perfectly balanced the meat. I got my favorite lychee Jasmine tea, as usual it was very good. I will definitely continue to support Tapioca Cafe no matter what!

Combo bahn mi with extra everything for a couple bucks more. So yummy!!!!

Love this place!!! They have all types of delicious sandwiches, and they have lotto. The staff is always friendly and theres a huge parking lot. There is seating on the inside and outside if you want to just relax and enjoy a snack. Today I got a bahn mi with extra everything for just a couple bucks extra, so worth it!!!

There is no one in the place, there are four (high school aged) workers behind the counter. I stood there for a good minute. Not one came over to me. I moved over and got one of their attention since they were not going to come and assist (because you know, they were busy goofing off - there was no adult there). The order was NOT ready in fact, they didn't even make the fries. So they started the fries and I stood there while they were cooked. Why did you tell us it was ready when it wasn't remotely ready? I got my order and left, got home and realized the burrito wasn't there. I went all the way back and they said "we refunded the burrito, it's only served for breakfast" First off the menu does not say this. If it's only served during a certain part of the day THEN SAY IT ON THE MENU. Second, no one thought of letting anyone know it was refunded. Just did and went on about their day of goofing off. The people at the store there couldn't give a flying yahoo when I voiced my displeasure. The last couple times we've been here the service was almost non-existent and the orders are always messed up. And this was the last time. Management will read this and just laugh. They could not care at all. Time for poorly run businesses like this to be done.

Cabinets are broken, and floors need to be mopped. The service is slow. The drinking cups are old battered plastic blue cups (they use to be glass) and they bring them to a table of 4 stacked instead of placing them to each person. No drinks were refilled. The food.. The Pancake was real good! Everything else was blah. The server said "they can't season the food much due to a large all the old people that live in Pinole." If you can't season then you shouldn't serve Cajun food. My pregnant wife ordered Pork Chop and Eggs which she had to send back and luckily they removed it from our bill, it was so plain and under seasoned. All our food was really underwhelming. My parents said the grits were really good there but this time they tasted almost as bland as water. Their is reason to believe this place has switched ownership and it trying to save money. There use to be a line out the door and we came at 11:30am on a Sunday and there was only 5 tables occupied... The Pear Salad has always been my go-to, and happy it's still on the menu. Chopped lettuce, gorgonzola crumbles, candied walnuts, champagne vinaigrette, and pear slices. I also enjoyed the Cheese Please for sharing, which comes with toast, three different cheeses, dried cranberries, pears, candied walnuts, and olives. Can you sense the pear theme? However, if the drink is made wrong or disgusting.. there shouod be understanding around that. We ordered the bottomless Mimosas. It seemed like it was difficult to get a grenadine on the side because I had to constantly ask for it. We had to talk to the manager because our waitress was not consistent with the pouring of bottomless. We lost about 30 to 45 mins of time because of it. The manager understood and granted us more time. I also did not like that fact that our finished plate sat on the table way longer than what they should have. Maybe the waiter was overwhelmed or overworked.

Hidden gem in El Sobrante that serves up some of the best Laotian and Thai food in the Bay Area…read more Every time we visit, must-orders are the Nam Khao (crispy rice ball salad with fermented pork sausage and fresh herbs) and Ka Soy (Laotian noodle soup). If you see Nam Khao on the menu of a Laotian/Thai restaurant, that means they know what they are doing just because it's so labor-intensive to make a salad(!) and the fermented pork has to be damn-near perfect for this salad to really shine and round out the fresh herbs and seasonings which includes lime juice, vinegar, and fish sauce. Ka Soy (the noodle soup) is a comfort food enjoyed in Southeast Asia. It's not the Thai-style where it's a curry broth and the noodles are fried, so let's not get it mixed up. Instead, it's bone broth that been simmered for hours and it's somewhat a lighter broth. The noodles are wide rice noodles in a big bowl of hot broth served with a mixture of ground pork cooked down with tomatoes along with fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and cilantro - simply a divine noodle soup that a must-try. It's not overly complex in terms of flavor, but it's a bowl of good ol' noodle soup that is comforting and great-tasting. It had basically two tablespoons of chicken that looked boiled. The soup tasted like water which made me add too much chili paste. The noodles were nothing to write home about though homemade. There were not a lot of noodles and mostly a lot of water for 15 dollars. I think the soup was supposed to come with crunchy garlic but it did not come with anything but a little bit of cilantro. All in all, just a very sad dish for $15 which I could have made at home with nothing but boiled water and noodles from the supermarket. My husband had their massaman Curry beef. They were training someone to cook in the kitchen and this curry came out with the texture and flavor of water. They were very kind to refund us for the curry as it was completely tasteless. One of the kitchen staff tasted the curry themselves and said that it had no flavor and apologized profusely. The restaurant itself though clean has a strong unpleasant smell.
