Local cozy coffeshop, located across from the San Clemente pier. Picked up a matcha latte to enjoy with my ice cream (picked up next door at another venue). Matcha was good quality and not pre-mixed, so you can determine the level of sweetness and which dairy or milk product you want used. Loved their cute whimsical designs on their paper cup sleeve holders.

Good coffee located across from the beach and pier. Partner really liked the taste of it Service people who are nice and efficient. Not really much else to ask for.

Just had to update, got coffee this very sleep deprived morning and I'm telling ya, I think this place has the nicest baristas ever! So welcoming and cheerful every time I come in. Coffees steller too, homemade almond milk tops it off!

Drinks: The coffee was so good, they had a lot of fun coffee specials when we went. It seems like some of them are seasonal but the mixtures were unique! Service: Everyone was literally so nice, in such a good mood, and seemed so happy. They knew a lot of people, the locals. But it felt homie! Inside: The inside was so cute. They had a little merch area and the stuff was so cute. They have a decent amount of tables too! It's so cute in there. Outside: It's beautiful outside. They have a few tables!

No happy hour specials in Football Mondays . Great ocean view for sunset dinner or a snack before dinner. The server was friendly and attentive.

Bear coast was my go to pre/post surf coffee. Conveniently located beach side for easy access. I was nervous it'd be super touristy and compromise quality, but it was actually really good quality. The workers are awesome as well. Chatting up all the customers, having a good time. The interior is nice. No frills, homey, and cozy!

Having spent the day at the beach, my partner and I were looking for a quick pick me up before the train came. Conveniently located in front of the station, Bear Coast Coffee seemed like the best option. The service was fast, despite there being a really long line. The coffee itself though was nothing overly special. A lot of the flavor sank to the bottom immediately and despite many good stirs, failed to completely incorporate. The espresso itself was not strong and tasted a little watered down.

The coffee itself isn't great but the staff were soooo nice and made the experience coming in worth it. If you need a little pick me up while you're at the beach, this is definitely a great spot! Plus they have water if you need to fill up and hydrate.

I got the Gingerbread latte with the seasonal foam and while it didn't taste like gingerbread, it was still good. I'll stick to my vanilla nutmeg next time. Great spot situated right in front of the pier perfect for a pick me up before your pier walk. Staff is always so friendly and informative on the menu.

We had just finished lunch but I really needed a caffeine fix. I saw Bear Coast earlier and since we were walking past, why not stop in! It's a great little shop that has a lot of seating! Friendly workers and greeting! I ordered a horchata latte which had a great flavor with a touch of cinnamon. Some places, the flavor can be overpowering, and you can't taste the coffee. I love that they roast their own beans and I bought the Grizzly for tomorrow morning. I'm sure it's going to be great since since the latte was delicious! Daveed had a regular latte and he really liked the flavor. Definitely worth a stop! Loved sitting out in front and watching people! Cako Approves!

Great staff who greet you by name once they get to know you. Good selection of coffees and I always meet nice people there.

Iced caramel lavender latte was awesome. Great spot to grab a coffee and go for a walk the beach. Pretty little beachside coffee shop with lots of indoor/outdoor seating. Super quick service.

Needed some energy after walking along the pier on a hot day and ordered their Lavender Caramel latte. I didn't enjoy the taste and flavors were barely there. It did give me the boost I needed but that's it. Service was friendly tho. Surprised I didn't like my drink considering this shop had so many people buying

Is this a good place to sit down and meet with a tutor?

I wouldn't say so, it's a very small beachfront property. There are a few small places to sit however, and if you can find a spot maybe. But even then you'll hear everyone.

I'm huge on coffee but I also like to try something new and different, any takes on ice coffees or ice teas here?

I love their cold brew! It's an iced coffee drink you can get. Fair warning- it's got a stronger caffeine kick than regular "iced coffee" (because the grounds sit in the water longer when brewing) but tastes SO good. Of course you can also do any… Read more

The night before my dissertation defense, I ordered a 96 oz coffee (joe-to-go) to go with a note saying I was defending my PhD (preemptively apologizing if I looked like a frazzled raccoon and worried anyone on accident while picking up). When I walked in at 7:45 AM (15 min earlier than my pick up time, bc anxiety), the staff immediately complimented my defense outfit -- instant confidence boost -- and when I said I was the person picking up "lots of coffee," they led me to the coffee, already packed and ready :') They all wished me good luck with the warmest, most dazzling smiles. They even included a note that said, "You got this~!" which I kept in front of me during my defense. (see photo) And I passed!!! Also, they gave me half-and-half and oat milk?? In this economy?? Oat milk is basically liquid gold. I felt so loved. So caffeinated. So non-dairy option supported. Usually after defenses, there is leftover coffee that people are trying to give away. But me and High Tide Coffee? No sir. No leftovers. One of my committee members had about 4-5 cups, and I am not exaggerating., (Even in a field that basically runs on coffee, academics are running on caffeine.... and wine, so a room of 12 people, not all drinking coffee, and still finishing 96 oz of coffee is a record.) Thank you, High Tide, for the excellent coffee, the kindness, the emotional support, and the very necessary academic bean juice. I am officially glad I chose you to help caffeinate the most important morning of my PhD. and thank you again for supporting me emotionally and caffeine-induced confidence :)

The interior is small but architecturally cool, with a tennis theme. There is a tiny patio in the back with a couple of tables and a lattice that provides some shade. I ordered a hot vanilla latte and a Nutella croissant from their pastry case. As is often the case at small coffee shops, there were no available seats at tables as all were taken by remote workers/students with their laptops. They have a narrow counter that was empty, so I ordered "for here" as I really wanted to relax and enjoy the coffee. I sat at the tiled counter and appreciated that my pastry was served on a ceramic plate and latte in a mug. The pastry was fresh with a flaky-crisp exterior and a bountiful amount of Nutella stuffed inside. The vanilla latte was served at immediate drinking temperature and the quality of espresso was excellent with a delectable vanilla under-flavor. Although this is "Happy" Coffee Club, the employees seemed emotionless and filled with ennui. Not welcoming or friendly at all. Once finished, I didn't see a place to return my plate & mug so decided to be nice and bring them to the counter. I was chastised and told that there is a tub on a shelf above the water station for dirty dishware. They also serve beer and wine here, which is probably what one needs to truly be in the Happy Club.

It's the kind of cold brew that says, "I'm stable. I've been to therapy. I am no longer bitter." Service was friendly and easygoing. No weird vibes. No barista existential dread projected onto me. Just solid, pleasant human interaction. 10/10 for that. Now. The patio. Love that it's dog-friendly. My pup was living her best life, greeting kind patrons. The kids meals were adorable and my kids loved them! This would totally be a 5 star review except the service was HORRIBLE. We were here at 11am on Wednesday April 8th we stood for 10 minutes before the girl working even came over to take our order there was no acknowledgment or just a second or any kind of greeting ... no one else was in the shop except us so it just seemed very odd to me. When the girl working finally came over to take our order she just said "what do want to order" with a sigh no eye contact it just felt like we were irritating her. She then proceeded to tell my mom what she wanted to order was going to take awhile to make and so my mom just canceled her food order all together. I saw a family of 4 leave after not being acknowledged and that is money that I'm sure this new business needs. My daughters begged me to get some gelato and though I was very reluctant to try and order I went back in because it's spring break and who doesn't like gelato. I waited for 7 minutes and the girl just washed dishes said nothing to us so I had to carry my crying children out of the store with no gelato. Again just a loss of sales. I loved the concept of this business and I really did enjoy what we ordered. I hope this is just a one person issue or maybe a bad day but I would strongly encourage the business to take some time for some additional customer service training with this particular staff member.
