This is one of my local favorite places to get a matcha latte. The staff really takes time to learn your favorites and preferences. I usually get matchas, yogurt bowls and the ham & cheese croissant are family faves as well. The staff, drinks and food are great. Lately it's been harder for me to order at the drive-thru unless someone is physically outside to take orders. There have been two incidents now where I've sat at the drive thru with no response. I've tried to say hello to see if there's a response and there is none. I think maybe the sensors are in need of maintenance. Please fix it because I've just driven off when this happens. Update: I went back 3/3/26 and sat at the drive thru waiting. Nobody answered so I figured the drive thru is closed. I go inside to order and I asked if the drive thru is closed. The baristas say it's open and "we saw you but we weren't sure if you were waiting to order from us or Hendels (next door ice cream shop)" but then why would I be waiting at better buzz to order from next door?!! then I hear them taking a drive thru order while I'm ordering at the counter. it's confirmed it's not the sensors that aren't picking up my car at the drive thru, I'm just being ignored. The coffee it's really good here. I had it for the first time and I really enjoyed it. The first one on the menu is very caffeinated and it got me through a really long day. The seating were not that ideal for studying but it's a great place to just hang out and chat because they can get loud inside the staff were really helpful in telling me about the coffees and which one to pick so I was really grateful. read more

Decided to pop in on a whim since I had a promo coupon for one of their drinks. I'll be honest, I normally don't visit Better Buzz. I do like the variety overall with food and beverage but usually it's not on my radar today. I opted for the traditional best drink ever. The regular size is like a sippy cup. Let's be real. And the only reason I was there was because it cost five dollars. Overall, I think the prices are little expensive. Come here when it's more of a treat. However, I will say service was extraordinary. The male order taker repeated my order and then made some additional suggestions for food and pastries which I declined. I was also lucky enough to be there early with no line and no wait for beverages which I usually find to be the issue. I'll probably come back because the breakfast tacos intrigued me. read more

I stopped by around 2 PM on a Saturday. The café was fairly quiet -- only two tables were occupied, and a couple of customers were waiting for their orders. I ordered a simple Chai Latte and even brought my own stainless steel mug. While waiting, I noticed a small line forming at the cashier, but only one barista was making drinks. Most of the orders seemed to be going to the drive-thru, which left dine-in customers waiting longer. After about five minutes, I saw that someone who ordered after me (the third person behind me) got her drink first. Eventually, another barista from the drive-thru side came to help. When I politely asked about my order, she said it was next -- but by the time I got my drink, nearly ten minutes had passed. Unfortunately, the Chai Latte itself was disappointingly sweet. I had to add water to tone it down a bit. I usually enjoy Better Buzz for their atmosphere and consistency, but this visit missed the mark -- both in service flow and taste balance. Super happy there is a better buzzed here. I believe I've only been to the SD location so it's really nice to see a location in the south OC. This place is super clean and is in a corner plaza next to Handels ice cream. I ordered the chili crisp breakfast wrap and it was super yummy. I love the hash brown that was layered inside. I would definitely order it again! However, it is pretty small. I just wanted a little breakfast fix when I came here. My wife ordered the cappuccino, which was solid. Always hit the spot, we love better buzz and their consistency of drinks. I always get their Best Drink Ever, even though there is a pumpkin Best Drink Ever, I still picked thr OG drink. I stopped by Better Buzz Coffee on what was a weirdly hot February afternoon. Like... sir??? It's supposed to be coastal-no-thick-sweater weather. Instead, I was out here questioning climate patterns with my dog on the patio. First things first: no iced coffee. None. But. The cold brew? Mild. Non-offensive. Surprisingly nutty (in a good way, *wink wink*). It didn't punch me in the throat with acidity, which I appreciate as someone who wants caffeine, not hostile combat. It's the kind of cold brew that says, "I'm stable. I've been to therapy. I am no longer bitter." Service was friendly and easygoing. No weird vibes. No barista existential dread projected onto me. Just solid, pleasant human interaction. 10/10 for that. Now. The patio. Love that it's dog-friendly. My pup was living her best life, greeting kind patrons. I, however, was trying to pretend I was a productive academic gremlin (with *aesthics*), and the WiFi was... aspirational. Let's just say it builds character. Great for touching grass. Not great for uploading Zoom sessions. (this was on the patio tho, indoors, it might slap harder than.. a correctly timed bass drop) Overall: great little spot. A few things to improve (please give me iced coffee and slightly stronger patio WiFi), but it doesn't detract from the experience or the coffee itself. Sunday morning 06-26-26. The girl behind the counter acts completely disinterested in taking our order. She was staring off to the side as I was telling her my order. "Is that all?" Obviously not, there's four of us standing here ready to order. Then, as I'm paying she's looking down at the screen making sure the Oder goes through and says, "Hi welcome" to two ladies walking in the door. No eye contact, no nothing. Just a Gen Z, drone blank stare robot unable to properly communicate. Besides that, the coffee and food was good. My recommendation is to not automatically interrupt the communication with the customer to say, "hi welcome" to someone walking in. read more

We came here to grab some coffee & breakfast items for the road and our experience wasn't as great. We ordered the horchata iced latte and two banana pudding coffee. The service was terrible - when someone came out to hand our bag of food, she did little to acknowledge us and just handed our food through the window quickly before heading back inside. This cute shop offers creative caffeinated drinks and pastries. Upon entering is a very aseptically pleasing coffee shop. I love that there is a nice patio outside but also cute seating areas inside. The staff is kind and helpful. Their menu offers simple drinks as well as various types of specialty drinks such as their horchata and snickerdoodle latte. What makes them Butter Buzz special is you can add kickstarter energy shots to your drinks. Besides drinks they also have readily made pastries and savory food to order. When I came in i noticed they had plenty of yummy pastries including their nutella croissants. They also had a seasonal menu which I ordered off of. I got their coconut matcha and the person I came with got their "coconut best drink ever." Both our drinks turned out very light. Not very strongly caffeinated. They were both okay. I did try the "coconut best drink ever" and it had a coconut cold foam on top which was nice. But not very creamy. Overall I would come back to try their other drinks and maybe the food there. Super cute shop. It was a bit too loud for me to do work there, so I did not stay. First timers who sign up on the app get a free drink next time they visit, which is pretty great. The only thing that was somewhat annoying, other than the loud music, was when I went to place my order, the barista was not paying attention to me. Turns out there's a drive thru and she was taking orders for that. Not a big deal, but she didn't put up a finger or say she was talking to anyone else. I was excited when I saw that this coffee shop was opening up a new location in San Clemente. Unfortunately since this coffee shop originally opened in California I have grown to dislike most of their coffee drinks as way too sweet. In the small print on the board, it does say you can ask for less sweetness. I think the store should start with less sweetness and add more per customer request. The last time I went, I tried the hazelnut divinity and ended up tossing it as I felt my teeth were being coated with sugar and I couldn't taste the coffee in it. Note this is one of their most popular drinks. Also, note in the afternoon , service can be slow as only one person working. Individual handles orders and drinks. This may not be so sanitary dealing with money and food/beverages. Despite my gripes, employees are always friendly! read more

Save your money. My iced coffee was warm and tasted like straight milk and syrup. If you're looking for a warm tasteless cup of sugar this is your spot. They handed us the food so fast and disappeared before we could even ask for straws, so we were left awkwardly waiting at the window for a couple of minutes until someone finally noticed us. My sister ordered an everything croissant with cream cheese and asked for it warm. It came out cold, with barely any cream cheese--only a tiny bit at the very last few bites of the croissant. Order at their drive through and first time trying this. Got a lavender tea buzz which I was told was there coffee free version. However, upon receiving it, it was very sweet. I don't drink coffee and drank this and it just taste like sweet coffee. My cousin said that this was how it was suppose to taste. But I order enough lavender syrup base drinks to know that what I got, was in fact just coffee frappe. The male attendant who gave us our drink, sounded confused and asked us if we got our drinks since we were still waiting for mine. This is a regular pit stop on the way back from my hometown. It's usually the place we stop for our pastry and coffee for the rest of the road till we get to San Diego. I got a Nutella croissant and my mom got an everything croissant with cream cheeses both were aesthetic and good. My mom didn't really like hers but that was more with her preference. I love the Nutella croissant it was so pretty and it was flakey. My only complaint is that the waiting time for our drinks and pastry was a little bit long. We first got our drinks and then later our pastry. The coffee was strong and delicious how I like it. It's still one of my favorite places to stop and will continue to stop by. read more

Used to love this place when I visited last year. I just got the breakfast sandwich again and it came on a greasy hamburger roll instead of the croissant I remember. It also tasted microwaved.
