Every time I come to bear den i have a good time! Brought my boyfriend here for his first time in Aspen as a quick stop for a snack and drinks. He loved it and so did I of course. Service is always great, and patio seating is nice. Inside is super small, but why sit inside when you're in Aspen?!

We started out wanting lunch across the street at White Tavern, but found an hour plus wait, and happily walked directly across the street to immediately find our own little cubby at Bear Den Aspen. This cozy Parisian white walled shabby chic adobe is atmospheric, and a good stop in Aspen for brunch, and lunch (beautiful salads here with watermelon radish and handmade quinoa cakes, breakfast-y looking burritos and sandwiches.) My egg sandwich on brioche was simple, but featured a perfectly cooked egg (bonus points!) and included arugula, grilled onion and pepper and a generous dollop of chevre. It came with a side of extra tasty fries, which the waitress admitted are dipped in panko and so especially crunchy & addictive. A charming, aesthetic spot with good brunch/lunch options, for a mid-day meal in Aspen.

Aspen prices, brunch after climbing was much needed. Eggs with benefits were delicious!

Awesome espresso martini!! Great service as well! It was perfect for a late night snack and drink with friends! Food was good but didn't knock our socks off. Everything else was awesome!

Cute little Aesthetic coffee shop. One of my favorites besides the Jerome hotel. Sit outside if you can and enjoy their cute décor. Coffee I love their lattes

    Disturbing painting....

Instantly upon walking in I loved the cozy atmosphere and decor. So I found it startling and out of place to see this painting on the wall. My family and I couldn't help but notice how child like these girls look and to confirm our suspicion the title of the painting is "The Birth of Twins." With the very public exposition of the Epstein files I think it's important to call out the over-sexulization of children.

Such a gem of a restaurant in Aspen! The wait staff was so charming and kind. The food selection has such a wide variety, and they are very considerate of allergies and offer alternatives for gluten and dairy. The atmosphere and the ambiance in the evening was my favorite part. It's such a cozy restaurant and atmosphere. It's my new favorite place to go!

Bear Den is a gem in Aspen. Very tiny and cozy but they get the job done. Great cocktail list. Seasonal menus...so you get variety. And its one of the few places in Aspen where the restaurant will be full and you can still hear yourself talking. I love this place!

Very cute and tiny place as most places in aspen are. There are maybe 4 tables with a couple seats at the bar. Makes sense why everything seemed to get booked early. I couldn't imagine going during peak season. They have outside seating as well. I couldn't believe ppl were sitting outside in 50 and sunny weather. The door was left open as well and it was cold inside. Wasn't sure the purpose but we thought maybe this is the aspen way lol so we just kept our coats on. The food was pretty good here. Not many options but all good. The tomato soup was good with Tabasco. The espresso martinis were good

It was time for some lunch on Saturday while walking around downtown Aspen and we landed here at the Bear Den. In order to avoid the wait, we opted to have lunch outside. The food was very good, service was just a bit slow that day, but we weren't in a hurry. It's a bit pricey in my opinion but most places are in Aspen. There are some neat dining locations outside on the porch or sidewalk.

From the moment you step inside, the room feels cinematic, warmly lit, artfully layered, and unmistakably Aspen in the way visitors hope Aspen will be.the space feel less like a restaurant and more like stepping into a painting. The service is impeccable. Staff move through the dining room with confidence and intuition, striking that elusive balance between polished professionalism and genuine warmth. Nothing feels rushed, nothing feels overlooked. Not every dish justifies its ambitious pricing, but the restaurant understands the importance of signature indulgences. The pistachio martini is memorable without gimmick. while the escargot stands out as one of the menu's most successful nods to classic French decadence. Ultimately, this is less a place to dissect course by course and more a place to experience. It captures the romanticized version of Aspen people travel here searching for elegant, decadent, a little theatrical, and undeniably beautiful.

The staff was so accommodating and welcoming even when we didn't have reservations. For food, we got the fondue for the table with potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower, apples, schnitzel, and crusty bread. The cocktail we got was called the Pink Panther and it was not only beautiful, but also delicious. It was such a fun dinner experience. The entrees looked amazing and the menu was vast. Overall, I'd go back here in a heartbeat, it was fantastic!

As anticipated, the place was gorgeous...with a slightly formal air. Given that it was in the Vail Village (near the ski slope), my husband was able to enter the place in his rugged ski suit. Despite the ambiance, it was a bit dead. I was disappointed with the lack of French music overhead...though maybe it was on so low, I didn't hear it? There were plenty of breakfast-brunch options, but on the menu, some items were noted as taking 20 minutes (which we didn't have time for!), so I was a tad bummed about that. In any case, my husband chose this Huckleberry Bacon French Toast, and I ordered the Maryland Crab Benedict. For drinks, we both just ordered plain coffee. As expected, the foods were good. I was more impressed with my husband's choice, this super-fancy french toast. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted spectacular! Mine was good, but disappointing at the same time. I really liked the Crab Benedict, but I only half-liked the side salad (basically just Arugula with a few Walnuts and Figs). The total bill for these items ran over 100 bucks... which, was to be expected in Vail. However, for such a pricey breakfast, I felt that I should have absolutely loved it...but it felt short of that. Overall, I just expected a bit more from this breakfast experience. Again, the decor was gorgeous, but the ambiance wasn't fully there (because of the lack of music?). Service felt a bit short-skimpy as well. Foods were good, but mine especially (Crab Benedict) felt a bit lacking. Let's just say that I've had Crab Benedicts as just as good for half the price...and with better sides. Maybe lunch or dinner experience is better here? In any case, am glad we checked out the place...but I doubt I'll choose it for breakfast again.

From the artwork on the walls to various touches throughout, you have the feeling you are in Paris. The food, although good, was just that - good. The Steak Frites was, I'm sorry, not all that special. The Fries were very good but the steak was lack luster with the Béarnaise Sauce missing key flavors like shallots and especially tarragon. The Aubergine Roulade, roasted eggplant rolled with roasted red peppers, spinach, chèvre and herbs served over baby arugula, mimolette cheese, toasted pine nuts, pickled fresno pepper & aged balsamic reduction (!) was good. With all those ingredients it should have been spectacular. Nice evening but disappointing.
