Hoping for some good pizza given the reviews. Unfortunately it's not New Haven Pizza, but it's as good as (maybe better than Poppa Johns & better than Pizza Hut). The crust was about 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick & a bit chewy, but very tasty & edible. The sauce seemed a bit canned, but it was good. We ordered the following four large pizzas for nine people & had plenty. * Mushroom, Onion (we had also hoped for fresh garlic, but they didn't have it) * Hawaiian (pineapple & Canadian bacon) * Sausage +mushroom+black olives+fresh onion, & fresh tomato (the fresh tomato was diced, but seemed OK & the sausage was not what you'd expect if you like 'Italian Sausage') * Pepperoni Everyone seemed happy & would order from here again. read more

Their pizza wasn't remarkable but wasn't bad either. Their crust is too large and would be better if they filled it with cheese or made it smaller. They have a great beer selection although you can't drink it on premises, which is a big let down. The staff if young and friendly. My first time eating at Bear Paw and I was pleasantly surprised. We normally eat at Riverfront but it was a Sunday and they were closed. We ordered the family meal 1, which for $34 came with 2 large pizzas and bread. We had our own drinks and there were plenty of picnic tables outside to eat on. It was better than your typical pizza. It wasn't the best I've ever had but for the price and how hungry we were this hit the spot! I also didn't realize they had a store inside to buy alcohol, slushees and snacks. This little gem is hidden within a store amongst the more expensive restaurants in town. You can not only eat some of the best pizza not located in a major city and tasty subs, but all of your beverage choices are there as well. Average pizza. This was a good option for us on our quick trip to the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Good pizza, ok pricing. You can also grab a beer as the pizza kitchen is co-located with a general shop which sold beer and wine. Not many options in Glen Arbor and this one is a safe bet. read more

So after leaving the tavern with the disrespectful hostess, I arrive here at this pizza place with the price was 14$ for a 12 inch pizza which was good enough, but the toppings were 2.50$ a piece including pepperoni. So the total for the ham and pepperoni we had came up to 20.75$ for that. Which was bit pricey for a pizza. The pizza was good though so I can't complain about that. The pizza was a solid 3+ out of 5; my husband (a pizza connoisseur) gave it a 7.5/10. I prefer fresh mozzarella and this was a bit bland. The crust is the bomb! Came in from out of town and stopped into Bear Paw for a pizza. Cute little place, half store with beer/wine/grocery items...other half pizza place. Looks like they do more carry out than dine-in...we ate there and sat at one of the six tables. Should've grabbed the guy's name who ran the store, but he was GREAT. Talked to us and our one-year-old while we waited. He was slammed running the store register and the pizza orders all alone, but was extremely friendly and personable. We got the family special with a 16" 2-topping pizza and cheese bread. Both were OUTSTANDING. My wife and I were thrilled we stopped in here instead of some of the crowded bars in the same block! read more

Undercooked pizza. ...dough tasted okay. ..every restaurant in town was packed and we need to eat. So this ended up being the choice. Underwhelming to say the least. Horrible service. Bad selection. High prices. I'm not too concerned with the selection or prices but the service has been consistently horrible the entire week we visited glen arbor. All the shops on this cute town are 100% better. So sad if you stop by and assume the rest of the cute town is as rude and no friendly as this establishment. read more

Disappointed in this pizza place. Had family in from out of town and stopped here for a bite to eat after a day at the Dune Climb. Bear Paw is a small market/pizza place and has a few tables available for dining in. I asked if there was a restroom available for my 92 year old mother and was told to walk across the busy street with her to a coffee house or to go a block down the street to the tavern. Then asked for hand sanitizer or a way to clean our hands before eating and was told "sorry" we don't have anything. Two thumbs down for customer service and friendliness. As for the food...the pizzas were just okay. Glen Arbor is a cute town with great shops, but I can't recommend Bear Paw. read more

Enjoyed eating outside on the picnic tables and relieved to see they had a parking lot, but disappointed to find out that it was a 45 minute wait for a pizza (although slices are sold on the spot) and non of the alcohol for purchase can be drank on the premises. Prices are a bit up there... close to $30 for the equivalent of a large pizza. read more

The Hula Bear pizza (Hawaiian style) was delicious and I'm from Chicago so I've had a pizza or two....hundred. Crust was buttery without being greasy, and everything tasted fresh. Staff was friendly and everything was fast. Docked a star because no alcohol consumption on premises and not much of a seating area. read more

I'll give this restaurant a measly two stars for nice staff. The food was not tasty at all. The pizza had little sauce and the breadsticks have no sauce. It's like eating buttery butter a top of bread. There was no acid and no zip. Additionally, they refused to allow us to use the facilities. It is my understanding that in the state of Michigan it's against the law for a sit down restaurant establishment (this place had several tables and chairs) not to have restroom facilities. I went across the street to a much nicer, more enjoyable coffee establishment. All and all, I would recommend eating somewhere else in town! read more

Well the guy making the pizzas wasn't wearing gloves which was sort of gross. The pizza wasn't spectacular, but it wasn't bad either. Good place to pick up a pie and take back to your cottage / hotel. read more

Good solid pizza. Nothing fancy - counter service. Good, somewhat-sweet and doughy crust, good balance of sauce, cheese and toppings. Very friendly staff! And pizzas were ready in about 15 minutes. Only drawback is no liquor license so you cannot drink on premises. read more

NO BATHROOMS!!! What sort of restaurant does not have bathrooms? Granted, more than half of the floor space is used as a grocer, but there is an area with tables where you can sit down and eat food that you order. I was quite peeved to learn, after I ordered my food, that there was no bathroom I could use. The pizza is at best, edible, but relatively cheap, given that this place is in the middle of tourist trap. read more

So I walk in at 4:05 pm to get a piece of pizza, and I ask the waitress for one, but she says they stop serving pizza after 4, if you go there, I recommend getting the salad... If your a millionaire! I came here while on vacation to the Dunes. We tried to order a ham pizza with half pepperoni and half pineapple. The girl at the desk could not comprehend this. She wrote down our order three times and told us we said it wrong. We get the pizza and drive back to our campsite. They still got the order wrong. Full pepperoni and ham. We called to get a remake and they asked us five times in the span of one minute what pizza we got and what we ordered. Will not go again. read more

Was recommended to go here from some girls working at a shop down by the dunes when I asked if they knew of any good pizza - they recommended Bear Paw and let's just say that was GREATLY appreciated! I wanted a quick pizza to go. I ordered their Bear Baw Supreme. The pizza was doughy in the middle third. I called and they offered to replace it. Unfortunately the second one was not much better.
