This weekend, we returned as a family of five (including kids aged 10, 6, and 4) for a one night stay and two sinus 'n' eye burning days in the heavily chlorinated water park. I have a lengthy separate review in Great Wolf Lodge, and encourage you to go find it if you're heading here. However if memory serves (a diminishing returns bet, as I get older), I did not include information about this little shop in the downstairs "L1" lobby adjacent to the water park entrance. Considering everything else at GWL is sort of corny and annoyingly staffed by high school kids who passed a basic skills test and a drug screening (probably), the ice cream and bakery place downstairs is pretty good! We came here after a long day of slipping and sliding-- and that was just on the lethally-slick floors inside the water park proper. Dinner from Alberto's down the street left plenty to be desired (yet another review I've yet to commit to Yelp), and dessert was definitely in high demand. After waiting in a short line, I ordered double scoop cups of Dreyers ice cream for about $4 and change each. One thing high school kids are good at, it seems, is scooping ice cream, and they did a great job piling it on. As I age, so do I... but maybe that anecdote is better served in a 24 Hour Fitness review... Anyway, while standing there, I noted a bakery case with lots of tasty looking muffins and danish-ey things. There is also a fresh squeezed juice machine or two behind the counter. Alas, none of this goes well with a double scoop of mint chip and cookie dough ice cream. I wanted double fudge brownie, but they were out. Better luck on the Five Star next time, inventory control. If you find yourself stranded-- ehh, I mean, visiting the G-dubya-L, make sure you grab a scoop here. You can even pay with your handy dandy wristband that is linked to your credit card on file. Thank goodness the kids' wristbands aren't.....

This place is located on the lowest floor of Great Wolf Lodge, right across from the entrance to the water park. There is no seating. Outside the doors there are a couple benches but no tables. Tried this place for lunch and had the roast beef and cheddar sandwich. It was a little over $9 and came with a pickle and chips. They brought it out pre-made from the back. Bread was squished and not very good. It had a decent amount of meat. They heated it up for me, but you have to squeeze on your own mayo/mustard. I did try it for ice cream and this is the reason I would give it three stars instead of two. Ice cream is good with decent portions. If you want lunch, I would recommend ordering from the place in the water park area. They make the food to order and prices are comparable.

Matcha Night Gone WRONG…read more.. After a delicious pho run, hubby and I were craving something sweet and wanted to try somewhere new. Hubby wasn't feeling the drive to Joe's, so naturally I opened Yelp and started hunting. We stumbled upon this spot located in a pretty busy plaza with restaurants, karaoke, pool tables, and bars, so there's definitely plenty happening around here for a fun night out. Unfortunately... the dessert was where the fun ended. Matcha Shaved Ice + Matcha/Hojicha Soft Serve -- $13.50 | 2/10 I was really looking forward to this one, but unfortunately it was a major miss for me. First, they were already out of red beans at 8pm, so I had to substitute them with waffle crumbs. Not a huge deal, but definitely not what I originally wanted. The bigger issue was the shaved ice itself. A good shaved ice should have that soft, fluffy, almost snow-like texture where the flavor is incorporated throughout the ice rather than feeling like you're just eating a pile of crunchy ice with syrup poured over the top. The best ones almost melt in your mouth and create that creamy, refreshing texture when paired with condensed milk, toppings, or soft serve. This one? Not that. The ice was extremely icy and hard, and it honestly tasted like they just poured matcha-flavored water/syrup over a mountain of ice. The matcha flavor didn't really soak into the shaved ice the way I expected, so instead of getting that smooth matcha flavor throughout every bite, I was getting... ice. The soft serve was probably the "better" part, but even with the matcha and hojicha soft serve mixed in, it couldn't save the shaved ice for me. And the mochi balls? SO squishy. I normally LOVE mochi, but these were not doing it for me tonight. It was fat & it just felt like a fat wet dough-ball. The biggest problem? We threw away more than 3/4 of it. And if you know me, you know I usually have a very hard time wasting dessert, or any food in general. I honestly haven't had a dessert this disappointing in quite some time. Would I come back? Nope. Would I recommend it? Unfortunately, no. Was the plaza fun? Absolutely! Maybe we just caught them on an off night, but based on this experience, I'll be sticking to my other shaved ice spots. Happy Desserts... but tonight, barely.

The ambiance is awesome and very creative since it revolves around this ants theme. Our server is pretty friendly and helpful to our decisions. We ordered their XL Ice Cream boba sago of 1 and 2. Oh yea I thought this dessert will be just a normal size but I guess that's why it has an XL on it haha.. we surely underestimated the size lol. They specialized on Durian ice cream and I've been craving it since meeting my girl :) I got the craving because of her and now I cannot stop thinking about it whenever she mentioned an ice cream flavor. The avocado and durian combination is top tier :) Whoever thought about it is a genius cause it really blends in well with the flavor. My girl and I really enjoy this place and will be back for more fosho :) Overall, definitely a recommendation to people that loves Durian fruit :)

They have so many flavors to choose from, so there's definitely something for everyone. As a huge lychee fan, I immediately went for the lychee ice cream, and it was SO good! The lychee flavor was refreshing and came through really well without being too sweet. Ever since I tried it, I've honestly been wanting to go back and get it again. The shop itself is pretty small and it was busy when I went, but the service was still really good and everything moved pretty quickly. Overall, such a good spot for ice cream, especially if you're looking for somewhere open later. I'll definitely be back for the lychee!

Everyone is incredibly friendly, patient, and always willing to explain the menu.. Parking at this location is surprisingly easy, which is a "W" given the OC life.. There aren't a ton of tables outside. But honestly, that's part of the charm. We ordered three things; mint chocolate chip, rose, and milk and cereal. All with a bubble waffle cone. The service was disappointing, the guy who worked there seemed like he didn't care and it was just another job. No life to him and was just rude about asking the code for the bathroom. The mint and chip is basic. Nothing too much about it. My kids like it, so I got it. Average 3/5. The rose ice cream tasted like a rose, it was pretty good and very floral. The disappointing part is I was hoping the ice cream would be shaped like a rose as depicted on the picture. Nope, just a scoop and left it as is. 5/5 for taste and 0/5 for presentation. The milk and cereal one was actually pretty good. Especially with Frosted Flakes in it. It literally taste like cereal. 5/5. I would give it a higher star if the service complimented it and th presentation of the rose ice cream did.

Tsun Scoops is an anime-inspired ice cream shop that focuses on creative flavors, fun presentation,…read moreand a playful atmosphere. We walked into a space that stands out immediately with its themed decor, character designs, and little details that make it feel different from a typical ice cream spot. The shop has a strong personality without relying only on the theme, making it a place that works for both anime fans and anyone looking for unique desserts. The interior is compact but thoughtfully designed, with colorful artwork and small touches that reward a closer look. The biggest highlight is the rotating ice cream selection. The flavors go beyond the usual options, with combinations like ube, sea salt, yuzu orange, and other seasonal creations that give the menu a more adventurous feel. We appreciated that they offer samples before choosing, since the variety makes it hard to decide. The flavors are creative but still approachable, and the dairy-free options are a nice addition for people looking for alternatives. The ube had a rich, earthy sweetness, and the yuzu orange offered a bright, citrusy contrast that kept the tasting experience interesting. The texture of the ice cream was smooth and creamy, and the flavors were well balanced without relying on excessive sweetness. The presentation is also part of the experience. The anime-inspired names, cute designs, and collectible stickers that come with the scoops add a fun element that makes the visit feel more memorable. We noticed a mix of fans and families enjoying the space, and the overall energy of the shop is welcoming and playful. The small details, from the branding to the way the staff interacted with customers, made the visit feel more personal and engaging. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the staff were helpful when explaining the different flavors or letting us try options before committing. They were patient with questions and offered thoughtful recommendations based on what we were in the mood for. The space itself is on the smaller side, so seating can be limited and it may be better suited for grabbing a scoop and enjoying it nearby rather than spending a long time inside. The turnover moves quickly, and the staff manage the flow efficiently. Tsun Scoops is a great dessert stop if you are looking for something more unique than a standard ice cream shop. The combination of creative flavors, anime-inspired atmosphere, and small personal touches makes it feel like a place built around the experience as much as the ice cream itself, offering a visit that is both playful and satisfying.
