We had been looking forward to trying Bearded Bagel! It did not disappoint. The sandwiches were hot and fresh. We both got the Vince Vaughn breakfast bagel and an iced vanilla latte. The coffee was prepared very fast yet we had to wait a bit for the bagels. For a Saturday morning this place kept busy but still prepared their food in a timely manner. Overall we had great service yet there is not much seating inside to accommodate for a larger group or many people to stay. read more

Went to the Bearded Bagel food truck today (8/3) that was at Fishers Farmers Market . Nice line but nothing bad ordered and got my food in less than 10 min. Great!!! My order Slammin Sammy (Bacon egg cheese) , Doctor T ( sausage egg cheese ) both on a plain bagel. Also ordered the full order of biscuits and gravy. Both sandwiches came with chips or a drink. I chose drinks. Now the sandwiches were pretty good, beagles were warm and soft but still had a small crunch, sausage was good but the bacon was MUCH better. The biscuits and gravy ...this was for my son but ya know dad tax I had to try it. My walk from the food truck to my truck less than 30 seconds , I try a bite and the gravy was COLD .. not happy about that but I had to get back home so I didn't go back to discuss it. I did notice it was scooped from a crock pot which makes sense, maybe it was unplugged or not fully heated up regardless in that I was disappointed. Now once I made it home I had my son try it as is cold ( he's the B&G expert) he says it was "alright", then he warmed it up and after a few chews and hmms he says it just needed salt/pepper and would probably order again. ( that's a positive) . So I guess make sure it's warm.. oh and the young lady taking orders did a good job, answering questions of others and getting the food out. $33 I guess not too bad due to the sandwich size. read more

Since I am from New Jersey going to college in Indiana, I am always looking for a bagel that comes anywhere near bagels from New Jersey/New York. When I came along this place while doing a project, I thought I had to go try it since it is advertised as a New York style bagel. When I went to try it, it met the expectations that I wanted when going to get a bagel that other places in Indianapolis have not met. I liked the vibes combined with the steamed bagels I thought it was a great place. It is slightly far from where I live, but I still think it is worth a trip every once in a while. I do like how they also have a food truck, but I feel like it is not advertised as to where it usually is because I have never seen their food truck anywhere. As far as bagels go, it does not get much better than this. It felt like I was at home in New Jersey, hopefully the people of Indianapolis can learn from Bearded Bagels about how to make bagels the right way. read more

This is right next to the 96th Street Sam's Club. I stopped by with my two teenage boys. They love bagels so we wanted to check this place out. The sandwiches were delicious!!! Have you ever encountered a person that you felt was really needing to fight with you before you even opened your mouth? The owner was this guy on Christmas Eve no less and frankly as a women in her late 50's I was really uncomfortable. I honestly would stay clear of this place unless you keep it very very simple and don't question the guy in any way.. If the order is wrong or takes forever? Trust me. I attended the Conner Crossing Freedom Fest and the Bearded Bagel was one of the food trucks that attended the event. The staff was very friendly. They have a solid menu. So, I ordered a bacon egg and cheese bagel. There was a line with about a 15 minute wait. When I received my order, my bagel was hot. As I took a bite, the bagel was semi- hard on the outside and soft on the inside, the bacon was crispy and egg was fully cooked. This is exactly what I ordered! It was so tasty, I ordered a second sandwich. I Highly suggest giving the Bearded Bagel food truck a try, you will not be disappointed! They have definitely earned their five star! I am back to tell you to get the Hangover Helper with bacon jam. It will, quite literally, be the best thing you've ever eaten. Messy but rewarding. Take advantage of the napkins. Lol We ate in this time and it was so nice to sit at the front bar and watch the world go by. Not too loud, loved hearing the sounds of the kitchen. It was an entirely new set of staff on this trip and the person at the front was very gracious and very passionate about their bacon (as they should be, it's good stuff). They give you a ginormous portions so share if you've got more than one person, or gorge yourself if you're flying solo. My friends suggested I try bearded bagel because they know how much I love my steamed bagel sandwiches! I ordered the sorority girl sandwich but I'm pretty sure the mustard was left off unfortunately, which I think would have added a lot of flavor. But I did like the sandwich overall! Be warned they are very messy! This would not be the type of meal you would want to eat on the go. Just stopped into Bearded Bagel for the first time today (it's located in the strip in front of Sam's Club on 96th st). Easy to pop into and exit Eastbound onto 96th on the way out. I lived in NY for the first 27 years of my life and have had a contentious time finding bagels for the decade+ that I have lived here. Bearded Bagel is easily the best I have had in this city and really delivered a nice surprise. Bagels can be steamed and they offer a nice menu of breakfast sandwiches. Reminded me of Bagel Ripple Deli a little bit in terms of menu but that is a good thing. I ordered an everything bagel steamed with veggie cream cheese and it was excellent. I will return, glad to see the craft of bagel making getting some midwest love. read more

I've just relocated to Indy from Los Angeles so I decided to try out the bagels at a few locations. Granted my standards are a bit high but So far the customer service at every location I tried seems to be subpar at best. And there always seems to be a disconnect of sorts. The woman at the bearded bagel who took my very simple order messed it up during two different visits. I simply ordered a bagel not toasted with cream cheese and two additional Bagels not cut with nothing on them. The first time I received my bagel with the cream cheese on the side. And the second time with the same order I received three toasted Bagels with cream cheese. She seems to be very overwhelmed even though there was no one else in the store. She also blamed her mistake on the cooks. The selection of Bagels is extremely limited. Where are the Sesame bagels? The cinnamon raisin? The cream cheese is good but the bagels are pretty underwhelming. I think I'll stick with Einstein's and hope that the customer service improves. read more
