First time writing a review ever. But after lunch today i decided to share my honest opinion about this place. First time and def the last. What a clip Joint. Pictures of big sandwiches with 'sides' listed as part of a sandwich purchase but then every item is an up charge. The portions were small. Place seemed clean and inviting. 4 people on staff. Just us 2 in the whole place. Greeted by a young girl that did her job with the great efficiency without any understanding of customer service. I even had to ask for the receipt . I did not order anything from here, but sat with a friend as she ordered food and drink and I used the restroom. The location is perfect with parking right on the street, outside seating and inside seating. The menu is clearly displayed in digital format on the wall and a lot of the items can be seen through a clear display. The staff are friendly and helpful with ordering. Finally, after several years Sophie's Bagels was in my plans. I can't here on a weekday with a friend, at 1:30 (they close at 2) and they were very gracious about not rushing us in order to close. My lunch was my favorite classic bagel, pumpernickel bagel with lox and cream cheese, red onion and tomato and I was sold after my first bite. I brought RRR here after the Saturday Farmers market and he enjoyed his bagel sandwich as well. First of all, we learned from the owner, Krishna, their bagels are made in New York in the right way, boiled then lightly par baked so they can be frozen and shipped. Sophie's then finishes the bake on site so they taste fresh every day. I have never been to New York and gotten a bagel so I can't honestly compare, but I'm not sad! The bagels are chewy and delicious. Also, they use Boars Head deli meats, high quality and worth it. We have only gotten water with our lunches here so I have no idea what their beverages are like but I suspect my 11 year old granddaughter would love the bubble tea. This is definitely worth a breakfast/brunch/ lunch stop if you're anywhere in the area. read more

Sadly the bagels dont have much toppiings on them .... and the dang eggs and bacon are already pre cooked from/by a supplier and just warmed up in a microwave !!!! the bacon is very low quality as is the fake egg ! The breakfast sandwich, 4 bagels to go and an ice tea cost a ridiculous $32 !!!! The building is really nice but thats where it ends !!!! There is no integrity and nothing unique about warming up premade low quality food in a microwave ! Huge disappointment !!!! read more

We love downtown Pendleton. Going to Falls park and walking downtown is one of our favorite things to do. This was our first time at Sophie's bagels. It was a really cute store and I loved how open it was. They had multiple open garage doors letting in a ton of air and a big outdoor patio. They had a large selection of food and coffee items. I will say, we came in later in the day, so I don't think it was fresh, but it wasn't the best bagel I have had but I also think we could have made a better choice on which bagel we chose because they had sold out of some that sounded really good so we will be back again soon to give the bagels another shot. read more

Well, this was an extremely pleasant find! Heard through the grapevine about Sophie's, and so glad I made the trip from the west side of Indy. NY-style bagels to start, but the Sunday special of a sandwich & drink was the seller. An Avocado toast bagel with fresh ingredients paired well with a dark roast. Purchased a 3-pack of day old bagels that I look forward to enjoying this week. Wish I had known earlier, but this won't be a one-off - I shall return to this little gem! read more

I was born and raised in Staten Island / Hells Kitchen and wholeheartedly believe that Krishna bakes THE BEST bagels in Indiana and that her shop offers THE BEST value when it comes to breakfast in Central Indiana. I live on Mass Ave. and begged Krishna to open up a Sophie's in downtown Indy... until then I'll be going up to Pendleton to get my bagels! For the quality of her bagels and the A+ service, the prices are an absolute bargain. In general, for a breakfast date... 2 Bagels with *homemade* cream cheese & 2 Coffees after tax and tip is 15 bucks. My go to bagel is an asiago + jalapeno cream cheese, but you honestly can't go wrong based on preference. Her key differentiator is importation and attention to detail. Her bagels are boiled in Long Island, frozen, shipped to Pendleton and then baked to order! The venue is absolutely stunning, probably my favorite garage retrofit in the state. Its elaborately decorated in Henna. Krishna's husband owns a badass hotrod shop & you could tell they really took their time in making this place a true gem. read more

The bagels were good I got a bacon, egg, and cheese on an Asiago bagel and my mom got jalapeño cream cheese on a cheddar bagel. Been to Sophie's a few times. Delicious bagel sandwiches! I'm a meat, egg, cheese bagel guy. And every version I've tried has been wonderful. They also are known for their boba drinks. I'm nit a boba guy but the rest of my family is and they very much promote these as being delicious. Zero complaints. It's a smaller location so plan to possibly take your food to go. read more

I have drove by this place a lot but it has always been later in the afternoon so I've never been able to stop since it's a breakfast/lunch shop. I finally stopped in this past weekend and the wait was worth it! We got a ham egg and cheese on an everything bagel and then a bacon egg and cheese on a cheddar bagel. After we ordered our food came out within a minute and you could tell everything was fresh. There are not many bagel shops up north area of indianapolis so I'm glad this one didn't disappoint. The price was a little high for just a simple sandwich. It was $7.50 for the sandwich and drinks were around $3-$4. We went on a Sunday and they have a Sunday special where you get a bagel sandwich and a drink for $8 so it's a great price. I was a little said I wasn't told that when ordering because we each got a sandwich and a drink and had to have our order deleted and re added because we saw the special sign after ordering everything. If for no other reason Sophie's gets a 5 star from me for ambiance. What a lovely place to sit in the morning to enjoy a cup of coffee snd a bagel. I stopped while passing through town on my way to work. It was most pleasant to sit on the little deck to dine early morning. Lovely flowers adorned the deck with clean picnic style tables. My everything bagel with cream cheese chive onion spread was good. My plain black coffee a smooth taste. Plus, I took a bag of 6 assorted bagels and spreads to go for my work mates. Yet another outstanding addition to the Pendleton area, wow! New construction that occupies the former location of King Hun Chinese, just off State Street downtown. They serve a large variety of bagels, all made onsite. We picked up a half dozen and made sandwiches for lunch with some Boar's Head teriyaki chicken. They have a very good menu full or organic items, bubble teas, custom sandwiches, even lox! I really would have liked to try the London Broil but I was already planning for home. Delicious smells inside, mellow music, and a well designed patio seating outside with garage doors opening when seasonally able. At 11am Saturday the line was out the door and not moving terribly fast. But that is OK, nice place to not be in a hurry at. This was such a great find! They also have some gluten free options and are very understanding of allergies, much to my boyfriend's delight (he has celiac). The service was great, and the sandwiches were good for the price (and the GF bread was exceptional!). The chips they sell from a local company are also amazing! Cute little place with a very nice staff! We showed up about 40 minutes before they closed on the 4th (sorry about that guys) and the young staff was just the nicest! My husband and I both went with the Lox & cream cheese on a sesame bagel for him and a half sandwich portion for me. No complaints at all about the lox to cream cheese ratio. It was all good! I'm a big fan of Sophie's bagels...was a big fan of Sophie's bagels in Pendleton. Today I went in at 9:30 and ordered 4 sandwiches and two bags of chips. I did not get one of the sandwiches and neither bag of chips. When I called to let them know, I could only get an answering machine. I drove back to the store and they offered me the sandwich that had been sitting on a shelf since 9:30 and it was now 11:24. When I asked them to please remake the sandwich because it contains beef, the owner refused to make the new sandwich and said that she hates to throw away food, because it is safe at room temperature for four hours. was not the least bit apologetic. A little concerning, I would never leave beef out for four hours, and still eat it. Just very surprised that I had to drive back in because they did not remember to give me all of my order, and they also refused to make me a sandwich that I am willing to eat. This will be my last time at Sophie's. read more
