Gluten free black and white cookies.
    Matt V.

I think the best challahs I've had are from Kosher Style bakeries and I got their 2 for 1 challah deal. The ube challah actually tastes like ube, unlike many other bakeries where the bread is just purple without much flavor. Their gluten-free black and white cookies are even better than many regular black and white cookies I've had. They also offer gluten-free hamantaschen and Linzer cookies.

Several days ago I decided to try Bea's Bakery due to their various UBE flavored desserts on their Yelp page. Bakery was busy during lunch time and one of the ladies behind the counter finally acknowledged me after a couple minutes of me perusing their selection. I decided on a slice of the ube cheesecake brownie, ube biscoff brownie, slice of cube cake and ube cookie (not pictured). Good ube favors in the brownies. I wasn't impressed with the cake and the cookie, as the density of the cookie had me thinking it was old. I'd maybe come back for both the ube brownies. Each dessert was about $5. Crowded parking lot during lunch time, but free. Casual and a bit dated bakery, with no indoor seating to enjoy a pastery.

Croissants, sweet buns, rugelach and cookies.

This quaint little bakery, tucked away on the corner, smells of delicate pastries, freshly baked bread and buttery rugelach. You take a number and wait your turn, it's always bustling here. Free samples are usually on the counter. Today's sample was purple ube bread. Soft and sweet with that unmistakable ube flavor. I got chocolate rugelach, rolled pastry cookies filled with semi sweet chocolate. Perfect with a cup of coffee. Everything looked appetizing and it smelled so delicious inside. The brownies, black and white cookies I recommend, the carrot cake and cake pops as well. The lace cookies too, those are phenomenal, very rich toffee taste with that dark chocolate. Chewy and addictive. My only critique is that it's very overpriced. For 4 rugelach it was $5. They are small too. Flavor wise though, they are tasty. Just make sure what you get is fresh, the breads and pastries only last 2-3 days, especially if you cover them well.

I came here during the Halloween time to try some cookies and they did not disappoint. I would definitely come back here to try the different options. I do like that this bakery has a variety of flavors. Especially flavors I have never tried. They also provide samples occasionally of their breads which is really fun to try and taste before you purchase. I will have to come back here when I'm in the area.

    Is the new owner filipino?

Bea’s Bakery is proudly owned and operated by a Jewish family, continuing its tradition since 1968. As the last remaining Jewish family-owned bakery in Los Angeles, we honor that heritage every day while our diverse team helps us serve the community…

    When did Bea's change hands?

I'm a long time customer of Langer's, although not for a few years. My guess is no. Bea's Bakery rye is quite good, though, but not like Langer's. Langer's sandwiches have…

I'm sharing just a few pictures from our last three events this year, but there have been many beautiful cakes over the years! Their cakes are always incredibly moist, fresh, and delicious, and they look just as amazing as they taste. The quality has always been consistent, which is why we continue coming back for our special occasions. Their customer service is also always on point friendly, helpful, patient, and accommodating. They really take the time to listen to what you're looking for and make the ordering process so easy. After several years and many celebrations, Shirin Bakery continues to be one of our favorites. The cake I chose was marble with Bavarian cream and strawberry, which was probably one of the best cakes I've had! Kept the cake in the fridge the entire day until it was time to cut and serve, but sadly the cake started to fall apart as I was cutting each slice. Probably from the consistency of the cream! Would've been perfect if the cream was more thicker cause it was messy. Things happen and we made it work

I had the pleasure of meeting Sa'id who is part of the family owned business and such a nice young gentleman! He welcomed me in and shared with me what makes their bakery a cut above the rest. For starters they are not a French bakery. It is an eastern European style bakery which most likely means that the baked goods are heartier, dense and more substantial in texture I would say. Their croissant was more dense than a typical french croissant which is light, airy and flakey. Sa'id offered for me to try a small sliver of their napoleon soft cake and it was amazing! I bought a regular cinnamon bun and the pistachio tiramisu. I really appreciated that the cinnamon bun wasn't overly sweet. I heated it in the microwave for about 8 seconds and my husband and I enjoyed it very much. The pistachio tiramisu was also very very good! A beautiful blend of coffee flavor with hints of pistachio flavor. In fact, it was OUTSTANDING! Best tiramisu my husband and I have ever tasted! Everything is carefully handmade with lots of care and love. There were some beautiful cakes in the display. They take special orders for any occasion. They also have specialty drinks and savory pastries to select from. The shop is small with a couple tables inside and some outdoor tables with chairs. Also open 7 days a week! I can't wait to go back!

As long as no lives were lost, and no fights were involved all is fine. For us all is fine. There was a terrible event that happened; but, it was addressed very sincerely. I ordered a quarter sheet flagship Berries and Cream cake withe customized details on the cake. It was a birthday cake for 3 people. Shivon showed me a sample of what I would see. It was beautiful. Unfortunately, on the way to our house, the driver had a near accident. The cake was ruined. We needed the (surprise) birthday cake at the house before the birthday people came to the house so it would not be seen. The driver was supposed to be at my house before 10:00AM. He was making good time; but when 10:05 came, we started getting worried. When he did arrive he showed us the smashed cake you see in the picture. I sent the picture to Shivon and she sounded like she was going to have a heart attack! She profusely apologized and told me she was going to make this better. She went overboard!! I supposed knowing that there were 3 birthday people she made 3 separate different flavored small round cakes (not that little I might add!), a dozen cupcakes . I am not a fan of sweets; but, all of the cakes and cupcakes I tasted were excellent! And yes, per the menu very expensive- but for the quality, so worth it. I wish I had taken pictures of the cakes she sent. But, we were rushing around so much by that time, I couldn't. The driver however took pictures. So, if Shivon can get them up on this post, you will be able to see what I mean by going overboard! Shivon is more than just a salesperson she is a very sincere and empathetic person. We will definitely be back. The only reason why I gave 4 stars is that the delivery person should have contacted Shivon as soon as it was known that the cake was ruined so she could have started on a new cake, or at least prepared Shivon for a situation that she would not have had to freak out on! I felt so bad for her!
