Went for my second time in past 10 days. Was impressed the first time and my second time didn't disappoint. Fries were great and I felt a little better this time. My son plowed the Beast burger - I was full just watching him. I had the Fire Fighter this time and the Widow Maker last time. Both were tasty. The Fire Fighter has the right amount of zing (with the habanero) and he can dial it up with the ghost pepper. I enjoy an egg on my burger so the widow maker was perfect for my first trip. Watch for the soft egg yolk as it caught me by surprise. Was very tasty though. Owner was friendly and during a break in the action he came out to talk. Said he is trying some new fry oil this week. This may have contributed to the improved fries we experienced - although they weren't bad the first time. At this time he is open 10am-7pm every day EXCEPT Wednesday. Next time I will the boar burger. Give it a try - you will not be sorry you did.

I absolutely love the burgers from Beast Burger; however, I miss fries and desserts they use to carry.

You want an excellent, tender, as good as any bullshit upscale restaurant rib eye? You are going to get that on Friday night steak night. You want a thick, flavorful, real beef burger? They've got you covered. Some of the best burgers in southern Oregon, by the way. They also have a very fine steelhead sandwich, tender and moist. You want an okay salad, basic weekend breakfast? Check. Strong, basic drinks? Check. You want skilled wait staff that work their asses off but still get you and your pals taken care of? Double check. I moved out along the River one year ago and discovered the Narrows shortly after. While I may be one if those progressive, feminist, environmentalist, mask wearing transplant types, I knew I had arrived when Jenna, Cris, and the gang began greeting me by name when I walked through the door and also remembering my orders. Yep. If you can get past yourself long enough to chat with the locals you learn some interesting things, make some colorful friends, hear some memorable stories. Like the time a guy showed up to rob the joint, pulled his handgun out of his pocket, demanded cash, and instead found himself facing a formidable crowd, every one of whom had pulled their own guns on him to protect their beloved bartender. 911 was called. Everyone ordered another round. The night went on. Yep. You're at the historical Narrows along the North Umpqua River. Behave yourself and have a good time. Pool tables, outdoor heated seating, plenty of those frisking annoying video poker machines and sports televisions if you're that type.

We had two orders of steak,, it was so tender and had great flavor, one Philly steak sandwich,, also so very good and the fries were awesome, and one Mushroom/swiss burger that was also wonderful. Great IPA beer on tap. Was inexpensive for the four of us. Waitress was also very good and attentive, also gave us extra goop sauce (yes we thought it was that good) to take back to our trailers. We will be back if we are in the area

That being said, the food I got was not very good. I guess I overestimated what an Asian rice bowl coming from a pub in a small town would be like, but it was much too sweet, salty, and overly sauced to the point where it was like eating a bowl of wet rice. I am not a picky person and will usually eat things that aren't my favorite for the sake of not wasting food, but I really struggled with this. I hate writing bad reviews because I know owning a restaurant is hard, but that is my honest opinion about the food. Warning: if you have dogs, there is a huge vine of grapes attached to the fence of the outdoor seating area out front. We moved to a dingy side area to avoid the possibility of our dogs eating a grape. There were cobwebs under the table and a man walked around us to spray pesticides on the weeds in the concrete, while we were eating and while our dogs were standing there. There was a dog water bowl near where he was spraying that we stayed far away from. Service was fine, but overall, a meh experience.
